Meet Jerry! What can we say about our volunteer favorite Jer Bear. This boy is basically perfection. What a sweet and easy dog he is. Jerry has yet to meet a person he doesn't like, and as you can see he is a bit of a goofball. This boy came to us from a very bad cruelty situation but he is not holding a grudge against humans. He seemed to catch on very quickly that he was now safe and we could be trusted. Right now Jerry is not super sure about how he feels with living with another dog but this guy has the most fun personality to outmatch 2 dogs. Whoever gets this guy is one lucky family. You will have to be prepared for lots of snuggles and a lifetime of adventures and learning all the wonderful things in life he's missed. Meet Hattie! Hattie is as sweet as they come with quite a personality to go with her. She is excellent at supervising our shelter shifts and letting us know just when we aren't moving fast enough (we see her in some sort of management position in her new home, maybe Head of Squirrel Security for example). Hattie really loves her time out and is happy to play and be with people. She is very ready to move on from shelter life and into a cozy home with a family that will love her for the rest of her life. She recently went on a field trip and was great in the car and walked very well on the leash. Hattie did not come from gentle beginnings and has never lived in a real home before so everything for her will be new. The best family for her would be able to have patience as she learns all the great things that life has to offer that she never got to experience before. Seeing her discover things for the first time is sure to melt your heart. She is a very gentle and fun girl and may be great around older kids. Nadia is a sweet dog with so much potential. She was a rescue dog and we’ve had her for 5 years. She definitely needs training. She is lovely to my husband and I and has never tried to attack us, nip at us or shown us any aggression whatsoever. However, she has shown aggression to other dogs when they are in her territory or when she is eating. We got a consult to get her trained and we’re told she is territorial, a trait that probably developed when she was a stray. My husband and I have seen the sweet side of her, she loves to cuddle and is obedient but we cannot afford to train her and we are worried about having her around our newborn since she is territorial. Also we both started new careers and our schedules are way too hectic to responsibly care for a dog, let alone 2 dogs and a child. Because of this we want to rehome her to a loving and capable home.

Gypsy was a stray. A man in Raymond, Mississippi found her and took her to the pound. They were going to euthanize her, and he took her home. She did not like his cats, so he surrendered her to us. She LOVES to run and play, and she needs a lot of exercise. She does good with most all dogs, but she is shy when she meets new people. Gypsy does not like cats! Once she warms up to people, she just wants to give kisses! Her ideal home would be a person or family that has a large yard for her to run and play in. She would be the best dog to do activities with or just cuddle with on the couch. She should be fine in a large, fenced yard. She can be hyper at times but settles down nicely inside with a chew toy.
