Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.  Emmie came to us about ready to have babies.  She was living with someone in a van for 5 months before we took her in.  With a ton of heartache, and several ER visits, none of her 14 huge babies survived.  They had a great dane daddy. We knew she was thin but once all the babies were out of her, we discovered that she was completely emaciated!  It's now time for Emmie to be someone's beloved girl for the rest of her life!  She is affectionate, lovable, good energy, loves to play fetch! She's quiet and easy in a crate while in foster care.   Here's the biggie, she cannot eat any kibble at all, nor does she drink water.  We do not know why.  We originally fed her forms of raw diet (dehydrated, frozen etc) but have her on canned food and she's doing great.  When we tried to add the smallest amount of kibble to these diets, she got screaming diarrhea, so we quit trying to introduce it.  She gets 2 cans of Natures Domain dog food a day now and is the perfect picture of health.  We understand that she's always been an only pet so we want that for her future.   As far as her dog social skills, she's been unreactive to any dogs on the other side of a fence, crate on a walk.  We were told she's better with males than females Her new family must be homeowners with a securely fenced yard, no exceptions.   Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 30, 2024, 4:22 pm

Story
Meet Wendy! This gorgeous pup was born to mama Jellybean on March 25th. Jellybean came to us very pregnant from a shelter in Louisiana, where she was slated to be euthanized. We could not let that happen. She gave birth to her puppies the day after she arrived in her foster home.  Jellybean's pups are stunning pit bull mixes. They have been lovingly socialized in their foster home and mama Jellybean has been a great mom to them. Jellybean is the nicest dog you will ever meet - very social, calm and loving. The temperament of puppies is often reflected by the temperament of the mom, and with a mom like Jellybean, these pups will be just lovely.  Of course, good training and socialization are key to raising good canine citizens. Puppies are hard work and require constant supervision and management in the home. Their training will be essential not only in the first few weeks, but throughout their life as they grow and change. Pit bulls are a breed that often experiences prejudice and we hope that anyone adopting one of Jellybean's pups will be dedicated to ensuring that they will become ambassadors for their breed.  The pups will be ready to leave mom around 8 weeks of age. They will have received their first puppy vaccinations and deworming at that time. We prefer to spay/neuter our dogs when they are between 8-12 months (it is better for their physical development) and the cost of this procedure is covered by their adoption fee. The adoption fee is $595. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
This sweet and gentle boy has been a dream to foster. Since settling into a home environment, Bobandy has shown wonderful leash manners—no more pulling, just happy strolls through the neighborhood! He loves his walks, does well passing other dogs, and is always up for playtime with his favorite plush toys (which he adorably tosses in the air before zooming around).Bobandy is potty trained and does well when left alone. He’s an affectionate companion who rarely barks but will let out a little whine when he’s excited or ready for a walk. He’s still working on his kitchen etiquette—his curiosity sometimes gets the best of him, leading to a few countertop investigations—but with continued training, he’s sure to improve. If you`re looking for a loving, playful pup with a ton of personality, Bobandy might be your perfect match! The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets!
