Story
*** If you're reading this on Petfinder, please go to our website to read the full bio at lovepawspg.org *** Say hello to sweet Tiger!  Tiger is a very affectionate boy who wants to be someone's best friend forever. He is 2 years old, 75 lbs and needs to be the center of someone's world, as he loves people, especially teenagers. He is very treat-motivated and easily trainable.  Tiger is very playful with other dogs.  He could be in a home as an only dog to get all the attention, or in a very bully savvy home where one friendly additional young dog could be introduced to him. He did not have the best start in life, so he is a little clumsy when meeting. Nothing that patience and consistency cannot improve. Training and enrichment to help him focus would benefit him greatly as well. He is a curious, intelligent dog. A fenced yard is a must. No cats, as he will chase them.  Tiger really deserves a great forever home!  He is an adorable dog who loves to please people and he's so handsome!  Tiger is fully vaccinated and neutered.  He is in New Jersey (but adoptable anywhere on the east coast) and would love to meet you! If you would like to make Tiger a much loved part of your family, please fill out our adoption application here.  Tiger's adoption fee is $300.November 27, 2023, 1:01 pm

Story
Need a hiking partner? She's right here! Chicken Sandwich, aka Chica, is a smart and playful 2 year old American Staffordshire Terrier.  She came to LOVEPAWS when she was forced out of her home by a pit bull ban.  She is at the top of her class as she fosters with the LOVEPAWS trainer.  She loves her crate.  She is strong but walks really well on a leash.  Chica enjoys car rides and other energetic dogs. She will do best in a home with adults and a yard to run around in.   Chica's dream day would be exploring new horizons.  She would love to hike in a new spot and smell the new smells! After adventuring, she would love to relax with a nice bone and hanging out with her people.  She will make sure your yard is squirrel free before she curls up with you for movie night. Also, bellyrubs. Definitely bellyrubs.    Chica is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.     Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here!November 27, 2023, 1:01 pm

Meet Lily, an 8 month old blue Staffy Mix She is a smart girl according to her foster Mom . She knows sit, down, stay, and she walks well on a leash. Lily loves to take long walks, play with tug toys, chase balls, chew bones, and she is patient and calm when waiting for a meal. She is house and crate trained, Loves her people and is ready for an active family.. She does great at day care 2 times a week and loves her canine playmates...but would also be good as a single dog if you give her enough attention and play time. This girl loves meeting and playing with other dogs, (her best bud is the Boston Terrier next door) and she is good with cats too. She plays hard and then loves to curl up on the couch and sleep. She loves car rides and going places with her people. She sleeps in her bed but would be fine sharing yours .If you are looking for a loyal bestie, Lily is your girl. Story
Marvelous Millie would love to find her happily ever after. She is a 5yr old, 80lb, Staffordshire Terrier mix and a very sweet girl. Millie had a loving home but unfortunately due to difficult circumstances with another dog in the home they made the tough decision to surrender Mille and another pup, so they had a chance to find happiness. She was great in the home, wonderful with the young children and another pup in the home who also recently found a new forever home. She is doing fantastic in her foster home. Loves the resident pup and zooming around with him, is great on leash, and loves to be outside. She has the softest fur and loves to snuggle and enjoys back scratches! Millie has had some professional training and knows heel, sit, stay and down. She is not a fan of small dogs or cats, so a feline free home is best. She would, however, enjoy another dog pal! She would enjoy an active owner to take her on long strolls and adventures. We feel she would also be fine in a condo / apartment setting as long as she gets enough exercise. She is also working on electric fence training at her foster home and is catching on quickly! Millie would be okay with another calm dog sibling or be great as an only pup. She is quiet and has great manners in the home, loves treats and will gently take them from your hand, her foster parents say, "She is such a lady!" Let this beautiful lady fill your heart and home! Millie is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. The adoption fee for this dog is $350 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. He wants everyone to know that he is a very good boy with a smile that will give you the warm fuzzies. And did you see his most boopable sniffy snout? It's irresistible. Hello world! I'm Mammoth! Even though I'm smaller than your average mammoth, I live life in a big way! I'm strong for a guy with just 3 legs and I love to go for walks. I can be a little weary of strangers at first, but once I get to know you, I'm very loyal and will stick by your side through whatever life will throw our way! Which is exactly what I need in a family, someone to help me through all life has given me. Born with just 3 legs, and on top of that, I have heartworms. I've already had my first treatment, and I'll get my second soon! A challenging beginning to life for sure, but I know my forever family is out there and ready to help me through it all! Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. SCOOBY is a big boy...at least 66#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 4 yrs old. He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but he is exuberant and easily intimidates smaller dogs. He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He has not had in-house training...in a shelter with lots of dogs, the big ones don't necessarily get the royal treatment. He has been leash-trained and loves to go on walks. After he get rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. I do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He sees them as lots of fun. Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller ones would probably get knocked down during playtime. He needs a home with large back yard, I would not recommend him for an apartment. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Not good with dogs,
Story
Name: Baby Sex: Male Estimated Age: About a year old Best Guess for Breed: Boxer/Mastiff Mix Weight: About 70 lbs Good With: LOVES ALL PEOPLE! We aren’t sure how Baby would do with cats or kids, but we are happy to test him out. BABY'S PERFECT MATCH: Baby is a very sweet pup who is looking for a home where he can be the only pet and a family that wants to be loved fiercely and will continue working with him on training and enrichment activities.  PERFECT FAMILY: Baby is very loyal and loving, and we think he would prefer to be the only pet in the home. In his foster home he lives with two other similar-sized dogs. He likes to run and play with the other dogs outside, but most of the time he prefers to spend his time playing or cuddling with humans. He does well when playing with other dogs with the right introduction. But, because of his size and energy, sometimes he can be a little overwhelming for other dogs. When guests come over, Baby is initially very excited and playful, as most dogs are, but he chills out after getting that initial energy out and/or being redirected (training, treats, or toys!). Baby has done well with kids (you can see him getting pets from a little one in one of his profile pics) but he hasn’t been around kids for long periods yet. He is also looking for a family that loves to play, is committed to training, and enjoys lounging with a puppy. Continuing to work on his training knowing that it will be very helpful for both the family and for Baby - a well-trained dog is a happy dog. He loves his training sessions partly for the treats but mostly for the quality time he gets with humans. As much as Baby loves training, he also has a goofy and loving personality. If you think you’ve seen the best puppy eyes before…wait until you see Baby’s! All in all, the perfect family for Baby will be a family that is ready to give a lot of love - and receive twice as much back, because Baby will shower you with gentle kisses and cuddles, adorable looks (he’s very photogenic!), fun and engaging play, and endless laughs.  PERFECT HOME: A home with a fenced in yard away from the bustling city. Baby can handle open areas like parks for short periods but like many younger dogs, he can get tired and overstimulated, so we do not recommend taking him to busy and unpredictable areas like dog parks, busy patios, and daycare.  Baby loves to sunbathe and play fetch or tug in the yard. He does well on walks in our quiet neighborhood, but we think a yard would help him get some of the extra energy out. Baby seldom barks in the yard, even when other dogs are barking in the yard or elsewhere in the neighborhood. EXERCISE NEEDS: As can be expected with young dogs, Baby has bursts of energy that are easily managed with outside play time, training, playing, and enrichment activities. Currently, most of his physical exercise comes from playing in the backyard. He loves tugging with the other dogs or humans in the yard, and really enjoys playing fetch and quickly drops the ball/stick/rope when he’s given the command “out.” Baby gets pretty tired out with training sessions, too! Like most puppies, he’s still perfecting his focus despite distractions and keeps getting better with training sessions. Finally, on rainy days where walks or playing in the yard isn’t feasible, Baby is content with some light fetch or tug inside and some puzzles or other enrichment activities that challenge his mind and senses.  BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Baby is a big love bug! He gives the sweetest, most gentle kisses and seems to consider himself to be a 75 pound lapdog. When alone or sleeping, he is kept in his expen area isolated from the rest of the home. When we come to his area to get him, he waits calmly and quietly for us to let him out of his area. When he hears the other dogs in the house barking, he rarely joins in. He also uses the bathroom outside in the yard and knows a number of commands including heel, out, stay, sit, and place.  He plays outside with the other 2 dogs in the home, but again it is clear to us that he is happier when he has alone time with the humans - whether that’s playing outside or lounging inside. As long as we are in the same proximity or are physically touching him somehow, he will happily chew on a toy or sleep. He will let you know when he would like to play or be pet. When he first came to us, he jumped up and barked at the humans when he wanted attention or to play. He quickly learned how to ask for attention and, since the first week, he hasn’t  jumped or barked to get attention from humans. Now, he asks for attention and playtime by bringing a toy, making eye contact, rolling over for a belly rub, or pawing at the humans.  CRATE: Baby is crate trained. When he first came to his foster home, he spent all of his alone time in the crate. After the first couple weeks at the house, we moved him into an expen to give him a little more room when he is alone. He sleeps and relaxes in his expen during the day and also sleeps in there all night long without a peep - unless he needs to potty!   If you think that Baby might be your perfect match, apply today!November 28, 2023, 9:18 pm
