Story
Meet Lily, a 50 pound year old silvery velvet hippo girl with melt-in-your-mouth chocolate eyes, Lily is very smart, sweet, athletic, playful and curious. She's met all kinds of different people in her foster home and out in the world and she's learning to approach life with confidence and self assurance. Lily looks to her handler for guidance and reassurance in new situations and is improving on her life skills daily. Lily knows sit, down, and stay; she walks well on a lead, she is a dream road trip companion, and she just generally loves going places with her people. She is very treat motivated so she is a joy to train - and she loves learning new things. She is house- and crate-trained and is patient and calm when waiting for a meal. She plays hard (loves to play with her foster dog-siblings and is learning to modulate her size with the smaller dogs) and then loves to curl up on the couch and sleep. No cats for this girl as the prey drive runs strong. She sleeps in her bed but would love to share yours. If you are looking for a loyal bestie, Lily is your girl. Lily is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. Story
This lovely lady is dressed and ready in her gorgeous black/brindle coat. Sadie is an approximately 1 year old, 47lb, Staffie mix; with what we are not sure, but we do know that she is 100% adorable. Sadie quickly fit right into her busy foster home with 6 resident pups ranging from 15-110lbs, a kitten and two human teen girls. She loves to play but also enjoys finding a comfy dog bed or couch to rest and catch up on her shows. She enjoys a good meal, will willingly go in her crate and sleep through the night and knows to go outside to use the bathroom. She was previously fostered on a farm. She'd prefer to live in a quieter area as she may be stressed by busier neighborhoods, and she'd love a nice fenced yard to run and play in. She could do well in a household with other confident, dog friendly dog(s) or as an only with appropriate opportunities to socialize with other pups. Sadie is a sweet girl and will be a wonderful addition to a lucky family! Sadie is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. Story
Say hello to sweet Tiger!  Tiger is a very affectionate boy who will be your best friend forever. He is 2 years old, 75 lbs and wants to be the center of someone's world, as he loves people, especially teenagers. He is very treat-motivated and easily trainable.  Tiger is very playful with other dogs.  He could be in a home as an only dog to hog all the attention, or in a very bully savvy home with one other friendly young dog. He did not have the best start in life, so he is a little clumsy when meeting. Nothing that patience and consistency cannot improve. Training and enrichment to help him focus would benefit him greatly as well. He is a curious, intelligent dog. A fenced yard is a must. No cats, as he will chase them.  Tiger really deserves a great forever home!  He is an adorable dog who loves to please people and he's so handsome!  Tiger is fully vaccinated and neutered.  He is in New Jersey (but adoptable anywhere on the east coast) and would love to meet you! If you would like to make Tiger a much loved part of your family, send in an application today! Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here! April 25, 2024, 6:17 am

Story
Kenai was rescued by us as a puppy from Texas. She is 4 years old (DOB 6/11/19). She became a reactive dog around 10 months old despite taking her to puppy classes and desensitization classes as well as socializing her through puppy day care and beyond. When COVID pandemic arrived, we had to move and lost access to the daycare. In our new neighborhood there are many dogs - she has found great dog friends, whom she is always eager to play with. However, certain situtations trigger her anxiety, and in turn, her reactiveness. Dogs that "stare her down" or reactiveness of other dogs will trigger her to raise her hackles and react in turn. Night walks, with low visibility, puts her more on edge. Despite working with a dedicated behaviorist and medication, her unease is clear. At home, and to those she knows, she is absolutely loving, sweet, and gentle (inc. kids/men). No resource issues. She would thrive in a wide open space where there are less distractions, fewer unknown dogs.

Story
🐾 Looking for a loving home for Peanut the Grey Blue-Nose Pitbull in Gaithersburg, MD! 🐶 Meet Peanut, our 6-year-old grey-colored, blue-nose Pitbull weighing around 60 lbs. Peanut is an absolute sweetheart with people, always ready for cuddles and belly rubs! He's trained on multiple commands, loves to play with squeaky toys, and comes with two different bark collars and training collars. However, Peanut struggles with anxiety and displays aggression around other dogs, which has been a challenge for us. We've tried training that's been helpful, but with a new baby in the house, we're finding it challenging to give Peanut the attention and training he deserves. He's currently on a daily apoquel pill for his allergies. We feel awful that we can't provide him with the time and energy he needs, but we want what's best for Peanut. He deserves a home where he can thrive and be happy. If you or someone you know can offer Peanut a loving and understanding environment, please reach out.

Story
Cookie is a very sweet dog when with her family. She’s loyal, protective, and loves to snuggle. She loves a good car ride, does well on walks, and makes a great travel companion. She tries to play with little kids as if they’re dogs and it scares them. When visitors come to the house it takes her a few encounters before she stops reacting. This is a major improvement from when we adopted her 18 months ago. We have worked with a trainer to improve these behaviors and have gotten as far as we can. She would thrive in a home without small children as an only dog. She currently lives with another dog and two cats and they do get along. However, when taken out alone her behavior is much better. We’re looking for a home with an environment that best suits her needs and the many children that comes through our house is not it.

We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Meet Miss Peanut, a pint-sized powerhouse of love and exuberance! This adorable petite Bully girl, with the rich chocolate brown coat and adorable ears, was rescued by a Good Samaritan we've worked with multiple times over the years. She saw Peanut running as a stray in her community and was able to gain her trust to get her to safety. We've always championed those who go above and beyond to help dogs in need and are happy to support her and help Peanut find her forever home.   At the heart of Peanut's irresistible charm is her boundless affection and playful spirit. An energetic and silly adolescent, she's currently thriving in the care of her foster parents, Laine and Gary, alongside their four pups and two cats. While she has a lot of fun with her foster siblings, Peanut's energy might be a bit overwhelming for older dogs or those less inclined to play. She's a perfect match for a young pup who shares her zest for life.   Peanut is not just a social butterfly; she's an adventurer at heart. Whether it's a car ride or meeting new people, she radiates confidence and enthusiasm. This housetrained and crate-trained girl is very smart and learns quickly. She's eager to please as she navigates the boundaries of home life. And let's talk about her love for toys – from Kongs to chew bones, Peanut's joy is contagious, even if it means occasionally borrowing the kitty's bed (if left unattended!).   We are looking for an active home and an adopter who's ready to embark on an exciting journey of companionship and growth. Peanut thrives on energy, enthusiasm, and, most importantly, the promise of a consistent routine. To ensure Peanut reaches her full potential, she needs someone committed to continuing her training and giving her all the love she deserves.   Exercise and playtime are non-negotiable for Peanut. A commitment to daily adventures, whether it's a game of fetch in the backyard or a brisk jog around the neighborhood, is a must. This little dynamo is all about embracing life to the fullest, and she's ready to bring that zest for living to your home. The ideal forever home includes a furry playmate – another young, active pup who can match her exuberance.   If you are looking to add fun, laughter, and energy to your life, apply for Peanut today. She is the ultimate spirited companion to join your adventures and give you unconditional love.   Adopt Miss Peanut today! BREED ESTIMATE: AmStaff Mix (Pocket Pittie) GENDER: Female APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: ~ 33 lbs APPROXIMATE AGE:  ~ 9-10 mos old COAT TYPE:  short ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/neutered/microchipped FOSTER LOCATION: Reston, VA   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application. Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. SCOOBY is a big boy...at least 66#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 4 yrs old. He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but he is exuberant and easily intimidates smaller dogs. He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He has not had in-house training...in a shelter with lots of dogs, the big ones don't necessarily get the royal treatment. He has been leash-trained and loves to go on walks. After he get rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. I do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He sees them as lots of fun. Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller ones would probably get knocked down during playtime. He needs a home with large back yard, I would not recommend him for an apartment. Check out our YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/KD9BUCFmQCs This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Jazzie is a beautiful, energetic, AKC pure-bred English Bulldog. She loves to play with her ball and bone and run around the yard. She is not your typical lazy bulldog, she's a real bundle of energy (until she's worn out, that is). She is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and is getting better on her leash. Unfortunately for us, Jazzie does not get along with our oldest daughter, but she is fine with our two younger children. It's not Jazzie's fault, and she does fine with everybody else. This is a difficult decision and we are going to miss her so much. Please give Jazzie a chance to show you how great she can be!

Story
Prim-at-a-glance: 1-1/2 year old, female, spayed, Boxer/Terrier mix, 45 lbs., up-to-date on core vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Prim takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  Prim was abandoned by her owners at a boarding facility that was doing her training.  Prim is now in a LOVEPAWS foster home and she is a delight to have around!  She responds to basic commands such as sit, stay and shake hands.  Prim could use more experience socializing with other dogs in a low-key environment as she is quite vocal when she sees other dogs on her walks around town, however, she is easy to walk on the leash.  Once she's given the opportunity to get that leash unhooked in a safe, fenced area she loves to run and run as fast as she can. Zoom, zoom, zoom! When it's time to settle down inside the house, squeaky toys are her favorite.  Well, food and treats are her favorite, but then squeaky toys if no food is being offered. Prim would do best in a home with a fenced yard so she can run to her heart's content. She's cautious meeting new people and while adults understand to take it slow, young kids may try to rush the BFF thing so older, respectful kids would be a better fit. She hasn't been tested with cats.  Prim can be shy and skittish but she is gentle and loving and makes a great movie or game-watching couch buddy.
