Story
Jack is an awesome dog! He's very smart, very high energy, and very lovable. He needs space to run around and be crazy but also needs a happy blanket to snuggle on. He's really a big, sweet dope of a boy. He gets along great with my 9 year old and takes a lot without ever getting upset with him. He loves company and enjoys being around people. He does shed though, so be aware that you'll be vacuuming every few days if that bothers you. The only trouble I have really is that he's kicking up my kid's asthma real bad and now that I can't keep the doors open for him to run and spend time outside all of that hair is just gathering up and making it impossible for my kid to breathe easy. I also took a new job that has me gone a lot which is making things hard on him too. He does not need a kennel and doesn't tear apart the house or anything when you're gone, he just lays around and waits like a good boy.

Story
Looking for a laid-back companion? Lokey is the guy for you! This sweet boy is a bit more reserved, taking a while to warm up to new people and places. He hasn't had much experience with men so they take a bit longer for him to feel comfortable around. Once he gets to know you though he's all smiles, cuddles, and kisses. Lokey is house-trained, kennel-trained, leash-trained, and knows several basic commands. He does really well with smaller-sized dog friends but can be more cautious about friends his own size. Lokey did have a bad experience with a cat once and now views all cats as unfriendly. He does fairly well with children, especially once who know that is toys are not for them to play with.Interested in meeting Lokey? Fill out an adoption application and if approved we will reach out within two days to set up a 60-minute meet-and-greet/adoption appointment. If you are interested in learning more or would like to set up a meet-and-greet please fill out an adoption application on our website: www.hsbcpets.com/adopt

Story
Magnus is a handsome 2 year old cattle dog mix. He is high energy, playful, and happy!! Like most rescue dogs, this sweet boy had a very difficult start to life, and hasn’t had much structure or training. He’s very smart, and will no doubt learn quickly with a little bit of work! Because of his energy, he can be overwhelming for older or timid dogs and would probably be too much for small young children. Magnus has the potential to be the perfect family dog- he just needs someone to give him the chance! If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application.  Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. If you have a dog currently, you should bring him/her along to meet the new dog so we can see how everyone interacts.  Please visit our website for additional information. The online application can be found at :https://hsburnettcty.org/adoption-guidelines/December 10, 2023, 10:35 pm

Story
Lucey was my mother’s pet and her work schedule did not allow her to have the necessary time to spend with her. We took her in temporarily originally but it became permanent but we don’t have the room or time to keep her here. She needs a home with a family that has time to spend with her and room to play.
