You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Maverick and his siblings were found on the side of the road in West Texas at just a few weeks old.  His siblings were all adopted once they were old enough, leaving Maverick.  The only thing different about Maverick is he is a snuggler and loves to be with his people.  He doesn't show 'working' dog characteristics.  He likes to play, but also wants some good ol lovin!  Maverick loves all dogs and everyone, however cats are unknown. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful,We will have an updated bio soon.   Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 17, 2025, 11:59 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.McCartney and his siblings found themselves stuck in a high kill shelter in West Texas as very young puppies. They are great pups and are good with other dogs, cats and people.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful.  McCartney has been coming out of his shell. He is timid with new people but opening up more each week at events to strangers and at home each day. He likes chin and booty scratches.  He will snuggle with you in time and gives the gentlest tiniest kisses. He loves other dogs and would do well a home with another dog to show him the ropes, but it is not a requirement; added patience will be needed if he's an only pup. He plays perfectly with dogs as well as  independently, often found throwing the toys in the air to entertain himself. He is the ultimate stuffy killer but it's oh so fun to watch him enjoy the moment.  He walks beautifully on leash, knows sit, has a good recall, is gentle when taking treats and trys hard to figure out what you are asking of him with a treat in hand. He is good in his kennel while the foster is at work, he will also go chill in there as well when he needs a break all on his own. He's doing great on potty training with only a few accidents here and there. He pays no attention to the cats in the home. He would make a lovely addition to any home that is willing to give him a little time for a big reward of love and silliness Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 16, 2025, 10:48 am

Story
Hi I`m Michael!I know I`m super cute but really the best things about me are my smarts and my loyalty! True to my breed group, I am a Velcro boy through and through! I want to follow you everywhere and be a part of everything you are up to. I think I would do best in a home with another social, energetic dog, though it`s not a requirement for me. I think it would help me get my energy out, teach me not to be so nippy when excited, show me the ropes of dog life, and gain confidence when I see strangers approaching. I would love a home where someone is home a good deal of time so I have activites to do and people to follow around. I can be in a crate for short periods of time but would likely not thrive having to be in one full time due to my need for enrichment.I am working on potty training and catching on quickly, though if you don`t see my signals, I will have accidents inside. I love to keep busy, a good mix of physical and mental activity will keep me happy and help me settle down when needed. I can get overstimulated and then I get a little extra bitey so I`m working on channeling that into toys, puzzle games, or redirecting to focus on humans. I loooooove TREATOS and they help me focus. A home with breed group experience would be helpful, but not required. It`s unknown how I would do with cats, so slow intros would be needed. I do get a little extra nippy sometimes so I need a home without young children.

Story
GUST AND HIS BEST FRIENDS PLAN TO BE AT A MEET AND GREET SUNDAY DECEMBER 21 12:30 -2:30 AT PET EVOLUTION ON 1074 GRAND IN ST. PAUL. COME AND CUDDLE AND MAYBE GO HOME WITH A FRIEND FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Gust and his siblings were surrendered to PUP because the owner, who lived in a remote area, could not afford the pups and felt she could not find suitable adopters. The mommy dog is a much loved 30# ‘low rider’ with short legs (pictured). A partner organization agreed to pay for her to be spayed if PUP found homes for the puppies. The owner did a good job of socializing the pups and they arrived in good health. They are well socialized, playful and are enjoying the good life. Gust looks like he is going to be a bit taller than some of his siblings and we expect he will be a mid-sized dog when he is full grown. We did DNA testing on Gust but the results won’t be in until mid December. Dogs from the area who have DNA testing often have 20 or more breeds and nearly always have some shepherd, husky, cattle dog, and even the largest pooches have a bit of Chihuahua. We strongly suspect Gust has some Doxi and maybe some cattle dog in this mix. (Rumor has it that there is a male cattle dog on a neighboring ranch.) The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, (he weighed 7.6# on 12-1) vaccinated and de-wormed. He will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopter’s expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. His required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that he be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.
