Ziggy came from a cattle farm in South Dakota, both of his parents were working dogs. He was a puppy when I got him and he is now 4 years old. I am confident he would thrive in a rural farm setting/acreage with not many new people entering the space and a stable environment. He struggles with meeting new people and needs structured introductions. He does well with other dogs and enjoys playing with dogs of all ages. Ziggy is loyal, affectionate, obedient, playful and goofy. He is a joy to have around and is protective of his humans.

Name: Palmer Breeds: Cattle Dog Mix Age: Puppy Sex: Male Size: Medium Palmer is currently still in the shelter and needs a foster or foster to adopt to get him safely into rescue! Palmer is a cute medium sized pooch, about 7-9 months old. He was found in a park and thought playing with the kids and teens there was great. Despite them looking for his people no one claimed him or knew him. Palmer is a fun, happy-go-lucky, thrilled to be a part of things pup. He is a toy fanatic and loves to carry his toys and toss them around for himself; he loves even more when people join in the game with him. He is very dog friendly and wants to play. He was interested in the cats but not aggressive. We suspect he might give chase out of play but when the cat he met swatted him he backed right off. Housetraining is unknown since he is in a shelter setting but the person who found him reported he did not have any accidents in the couple days they had him and even did well in the crate. He's a smarty pants and loves to engage with his people making training a breeze. Requirements: Training sign up required Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Jess is a sweet, friendly girl who came into rescue with her 8 puppies after being found in a ditch, abandoned. While this mama was scared of people at first, with some time and patience from her foster mom, she has become such a sweet and loving girl. She is still working on potty training, but is doing well with kennel training. Jess can climb 5 foot fences if she chooses, so she will need to be monitored or on leash. However, she has only climbed out of kennels to run around the house, and has never climbed the outside fence.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mashed Potatoes is a beautiful heeler mix that found himself at a high kill shelter in West Texas. He is good with other dogs and kids, cats are unknown.    All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.  Mashed Potatoes is a sweet boy full of energy that loves to run and play. He likes other dogs, people and loves kids; but he tends to herd them so training, exercise and games would be beneficial. He would be okay with dog savvy cats. He is kennel trained and sleeps through the night. He would love an active family that would like to train and work him. He is treat motivated and likes to please. Story
Skyler is a handsome 1 yr old Australian Shepherd. He weighs 56# - with beautiful coloring and soft brown eyes. He’s friendly, and has youthful energy. He wags his tail a lot, and gives sloppy slobbery kisses! He’s also very affectionate – will sit next to you forever if you will scratch his ears. I don’t think he’d ever get tired of it. Enjoys tummy rubs, too. Excellent snuggler. He’s very playful, happy and fun loving. He chases balls and retrieves them. He actually brings it right back to you and will even put it in your hand. Skyler is young, energetic, and has herding-dog instincts; with adults, he will sometimes nip at their hands when playing. This is not an aggressive gesture - it's his instinct to herd coming out in play. He has not done this with children. Very playful and needs a yard to run in – preference will be given to someone with a secure fenced area (He does not try to jump the fence). He really loves to fetch the tennis ball for you.........but if you don’t play with him, he entertains himself with the ball. He would really enjoy being paired with another playful dog. Skyler is highly motivated by treats - constantly sits for treats without even being prompted. He would do well with an active family. Learning to walk on leash – does best in harness -needs reminders not to pull when he sees squirrels and other dogs. Going to dog parks or the lake are exciting times for him, and he has a difficult time listening to you in these situations. Knows the commands to sit and stay, and appears to be a smart dog. Skyler is housetrained. He’s so well behaved that he has not been crated. Is good with other dogs, and reported to be good with cats (but we haven't tested this). Has been with older kids and did well, but no exposure to youngsters – he has a good disposition, and is gentle and loving, so might be OK with respectful kids 6 yr and up. He enjoys being with people as much as possible. Skyler is neutered, and current on distemper, rabies and bordetella vaccinations. His heartworm test is negative, and the microchip is registered to Second Chance. His adoption fee is $375. Call 651-771-5662 if you are interested in Skyler.
