Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Rza pronounced (Rizza) is a 39lb spayed female who is about 3 years old and waiting to be your best friend! She is a wonderful companion dog - loving and devoted to her people. She loves cuddling on the couch and will sleep with you. Rza is just a charmer with extremely soft fur and a cute smooshy face and beautiful deep brown eyes! Rza is generally a pretty calm dog most of the time - and like many of us in the winter time, is a little "fluffy" right now from too many treats.    Rza is fully potty trained and lets you know when she needs to go out with a couple special barks. She loves eating grass in the summer and relaxing in the sun, taking breaks to roll in the fresh smelly lawn. On colder days, Rza loves laying on her bed in front of the heating vent in the winter and playing in the snow. he likes being brushed and loves lick mats.     She loves tug of war and fetch for about 10-15 minutes at a time, then she takes her ball away and chews on it. She is food motivated except on walks or when she is a little nervous. But oh, does she love walks! Rza's foster is working on her barking when she sees another dog on walks. She is very clumsy and will accidentally knock children over - so no small kids would be best!   Rza came from living outdoors in North Dakota where she was attacked several times by packs of dogs twice her size. Because of this, she is dog selective and would prefer to be the only pup in the home - she won't be a dog you can take to a dog park or a brewery. However, she can play with single dogs her size (40 lbs) who are used to a rougher play style, but occasionally will become overstimulated so play should be supervised at all times. There's the chance that she may be able to live with an older similar sized calmer dog. Rza does have resource guarding with toys and food, which is another reason why she might be happier as a solo dog. If you would like to learn more about Rza, please submit an interest form on our website:      https://redemptionroadrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/ If you are viewing this listing on PETFINDER there is often MORE INFO ON and MORE PICS OF the animal DIRECTLY ON OUR WEBSITE. redemptionroad.mn@gmail.com Follow us on Facebook & Instagram! https://www.facebook.com/RedemptionRoadRescue/ @RedemptionRoadRescueMN *Adoption fee for Rza is $395 + MN tax* All animals fully vetted appropriate for age: spayed/neutered, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (@12 months or older), microchipped with lifetime registration, dewormed, flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention.  *Since we typically don't know a rescue dogs actual genetics, their breed and estimated size when grown on their bio is just an educated guess based on information and observations we have.*  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 19, 2025, 11:09 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Winnie is a playful, energetic, young cattle dog/husky mix who is approx just over a year old. She was found in the middle of the road on a stormy day, frantically pacing back and forth, soaking wet and covered in ticks. After many people reported seeing her and no one coming forward to claim her for weeks, Winnie was lured to a live trap with lots of good treats so she could be brought safely inside! Young lady Winnie has a lot of energy and curiosity! She loves to play fetch, go for car rides, dog kibble and hanging out with her dog friends. Winnie currently is fostered on a farm with dogs, cats, cows, horses and chickens. She occasionally wants to chase the cats and chickens, but overall does well everyone. She's a little nervous about new people at first, but warms up quickly. She will do best in a home with older kids or adults that will respect her boundaries and that can be patient with her as she will need to continue some basic training. Winnie does have some separation anxiety (which is understandable with what she went through!) but still kennels pretty well. She will always greet you with a very excited howl when you arrive back home! Winnie is a smart girl and with her food motivation and complete loyalty to her people once she's comfortable, she will make a great companion! Winnie is currently fostered in Becker, MN. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus tax Bananarama, aka Nanner or NaNa, is a very special girl around here. Nana has been in foster care with a MARS staff member since Aug 2021. During this time Nana has been working on all her life skills, with the help of our trainer.  At her annual exam on 6/7/22 she tested positive for heartworm. She went through heartworm treatment with flying colors. She has been retested for heartworm and is now negative. She needs to remain on monthly heartworm prevention, year round, for the rest of her life. Nana came to MARS with some significant fear based reactivity, stranger danger and trust issues. With the dedication of her foster and trainer she has improved dramatically and is ready to find her FOREVER home.  Nana will need to continue using these newly mastered life skills in her new home with a calm and confident human leader. MARS will provide training with her adopter during the transition.  While Nana is able to live in a townhome she would do best without shared walls as she does get vocal when she hears the door bell, loud noises, sees dogs or sees/hears people outside. Nana would LOVE a home with a big fenced yard that she can safely run around and have the zoomies. She loves to chill outside during the warm months! Once you are one of her trusted people she is sweet and cuddly and just wants to be with you. She would prefer to be the only pet in her new home.   If you are interested in learning more about Nana please complete an application! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxGracie is the sweetest and happiest little lady! She has the sweetest soul and loves to be loved. She’s playful, goofy, and loves being with her people. She had heartworm treatment over the Fall/Winter and is now loving life not being on exercise restrictions. She has a heartworm test at the end of July and if it’s negative then she will be spayed. She loves to chase squirrels and birds and will spend all day sitting outside making sure the squirrels stay out of her yard. She also loves her 1-2 daily walks and for the most part she does well on the leash during walks, but we are working on her pulling when she’s on the leash anywhere else. Even though she's part Heeler, her energy level is pretty moderate. Our walks are 1-2 miles and if shes outside she'll patrol the yard and chase squirrels, but she'll also hang out on the deck. Some things she likes doing while inside- playing with toys, chewing bones, and looking out the window. She would love if her forever home has a big window she can look out, fenced yard, and a family that will spoil her with attention. She’s met a few kids ranging in ages from 3-13 and she was great with them. She hasn’t met anyone she doesn’t like. She can get mouthy/nippy when playing and she will run out the door if it’s open with no one blocking it to stop her so if she goes to a house with kids, older kids would be a better fit for her. She is picky about dogs so she would like to be the only dog in the house. She will need slow introductions to dogs and does better with dogs who are calm and give her space. The first week she was free to run in the yard she did fence fight the neighbor's dogs, but she’s really quick to pick things up and takes redirection really well so after working with her, she doesn't care about those dogs, even if they come up to the fence and bark at her. She is not a fan of the kennel so she's free to roam the house when left alone and she does great. She is warming up to car rides, but gets nauseas/stressed in the car so no road trips for this gal. Gracie is such an amazing dog and if you’re looking for a dog who can be independent, but still loves attention; is cuddly, but also playful then she's your girl!    If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.
