Story

Looking to re-home our male Heeler mix, Jack. He will be 2 in December, is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He knows basic commands such as sit, here, wait, up, down, kennel. He is house trained and crate trained. He does well with other dogs and kids. He does well with cats if they are used to high energy dogs. One of our cats is still a kitten and they do great together. Our older cat is afraid of him as he does chase him. He likes to play, loves affection, and is always looking to please. Jack would best thrive in an active household. He would do fantastic on a farm as a working dog with a job, on acreage, or in a large fenced in yard. As a Heeler, his herding instincts tend to kick in and he will chase people walking and biking. He is a good dog, however he is not a good fit for our household. We do not have the time to provide him with enough mental and physical stimulation that he needs. Jack loves chew toys, walks, and the dog park.

They are great pups and are good with other dogs, people and dog savvy cats. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Ozzy is an Australian cattle dog/heeler mix (best guess)and one things for certain, he’s got the best ears! He’s been playing catch-up to his other siblings, as he was on the very thin side when he arrived in MN. As he’s gained weight, he’s gained energy, but would be described as a medium energy dog. He enjoys a long walk, but also likes to curl up and snuggle on the couch. He’s dog, cat and kid friendly. First impressions are mixed, as some days he’s outgoing and other days he can come off as shy. But as long as you are prepared to give him patience and consistency, he adapts pretty quickly. He is kennel trained and does well on a leash. He is potty trained when on a schedule. When gone a whole work day, he does have some accidents in the kennel but if he can get let out at lunch he is perfect. His best quality is that he’s very loyal and also gives the sweetest kisses. But beware, he’s been described as a “land shark” when it comes to treats, so watch your fingers ;) Like all puppies, he still requires supervision and needs consistent training to be the best he can be! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Slash and his siblings found themselves stuck in a high kill shelter in West Texas as very young puppies. He is great with other dogs and people. Cats are unknown (but his siblings have all done well with dogt savvy cats). All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Slash is mostly potty trained. He has not had any accidents so far in his foster home so long as he is kept to a schedule. Slash does very well in a crate. His crate door is left open and he willingly goes in to take naps. He has not shown any separation anxiety. Slash knows sit and is still working on other commands. Slash walks very well on a leash. He will constantly look at you for guidance. He does not pull but every so often he will pause before following along. Slash has gotten along with every dog he has met so far of all sizes. He LOVES meeting and playing with dogs. He still has that puppy energy and will need to continue learning when other dogs are done playing. When Slash is the only dog, he is very shy and slow to warm up to people but when he is around other dogs he acts like a puppy and is full of love, energy and confidence. Slash will do very well in a home with a resident dog to show him the ropes. Slash will also do well in a home as the only dog but will need a patient and understanding human to slowly build his trust and confidence. His siblings were all adopted once they were old enough, leaving Maverick. The only thing different about Maverick is he is a snuggler and loves to be with his people. He is timid with new people but opening up more each week at events to strangers and at home each day. He likes chin and booty scratches. He will snuggle with you in time and gives the gentlest tiniest kisses. He loves other dogs and would do well a home with another dog to show him the ropes, but it is not a requirement; added patience will be needed if he's an only pup. He plays perfectly with dogs as well as independently, often found throwing the toys in the air to entertain himself. He is the ultimate stuffy killer but it's oh so fun to watch him enjoy the moment. He walks beautifully on leash, knows sit, has a good recall, is gentle when taking treats and trys hard to figure out what you are asking of him with a treat in hand. He is good in his kennel while the foster is at work, he will also go chill in there as well when he needs a break all on his own. He's doing great on potty training with only a few accidents here and there. He pays no attention to the cats in the home.
