Story
There will be a rehoming fee to ensure he goes to a good home. Purebred Aussie. Not fixed. Good with cats and kids although will need training with very small kids, he is blissfully unaware, unknown with other dogs. Knows common commands and does well on a yard leash, is trained on the halo collar. Butters is house trained (sits by the door when he has to potty) and sleeps near the bed on his own bed. Loves ice cubes, antler bones and chewing on his toys. He has not chewed the furniture or any shoes. Cuddles by your feet or up on your lap if you let him. Has been a country dog and doesn’t bark often unless something is out of the ordinary. Would be good for him to have a job as his herding instincts are active. Crate trained if needed but he does well inside the house. He’s an extremely good boy and we know his family is out there! We feel like we cannot give him what he is yearning for, another dog or maybe a job. He is so loved and will need a loving family to adjust properly.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This adorable sweetheart is Pinto. He loves everyone. His Texas foster thinks he is pretty much perfect! He is almost completely potty trained. He is very smart and is always observing. He entertains himself by throwing his own toys. He is just looking for a great place where he can grow and learn to be the best buddy he can be.   Pinto is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 7/27/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9AM and 12PM. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. Story
Meet Marti! Marti is a 5 year old, neutered, double merle, male, who came to us almost completely feral. He is a slightly pudgy 40 pounds, crate trained, house broke (but still leaks a little urine when sleeping although we haven't tried medication for that yet as it has been improving). As he is double merle he has some vision issues as well. Marti will need a very special owner that is willing to give him plenty of time to learn to trust. At his foster home Marti gets along with other dogs, is great with cats, and walks off leash in a rural setting. Marti is that lower energy aussie everyone's looking for and would like a quiet home. Marti will need more training in cooperative Care which his foster is working on and is easy to implement. The details: Needs Fence: Depends on setting (needs to gain trust to be leashed, fence necessary in busier area) Good With Dogs: Yes Good With People: Needs patience Good with cats: Yes All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.
