Unfortunately, Bjorn was surrendered back to the rescue (which he was born through) due to failing health of his owner. Bjorn is a beautiful dog inside and out and is looking for his next home where he can retire his skills and be the loving devoted dog that he is. Bjorn is the most peaceful dog that has affection that has no boundaries. This dog can see through your soul. Bjorn gets along with other dogs, is spayed, neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Bjorn is available for adoption. Meet Ziggy! 6 years old • 32 lbs • Australian Cattle Dog / Border Collie mix (with some German Shepherd, Beagle, and Lab in there too!) Ziggy is a smart, soulful, couch-loving companion who thrives with her people and forms deep bonds with the humans she trusts. Like many herding breeds, she takes her job of “keeping an eye on things” seriously — but once she decides you’re a friend, you’re in for a lifetime of loyalty, snuggles, and companionship. When new people arrive, Ziggy will announce herself with a bark or two, then quickly switch into friendly mode. After a proper sniff and hello, she’s eager to engage — often gently guiding your hand to her chest, where she loves extra scratches. Before you know it, she’s your new best friend on the couch. Why we love Ziggy: Incredibly smart and very trainable - she k nows tricks and has great recall indoors A wonderful companion who simply wants someone around, and loves cuddling on the couch or in bed! Loves car rides — short trips or long adventures. Ziggy e njoys hiking and exploring (she’s a fan of the North Shore!) Ziggy is a herding-breed dog through and through and can be reactive to other dogs, especially on walks. Her bark can sound intense, but with consistent, positive training, she can sometimes ignore passing dogs when walked solo. Group walks with other dogs, however, increase her stress and reactivity. Ziggy has also developed some resource guarding around food, toys, and favorite resting spots. With structure, space, and experienced handling, these behaviors are manageable, but Ziggy will do best as the only dog in the home. Because of her herding instincts, Ziggy is not a fit for homes with young children, as she may chase or nip at ankles. A home with adults only or older, dog-savvy kids, along with a fenced yard, are a requirement. Ziggy has not had any long-term experience with cats. Ziggy is deeply loving, loyal, and ready to be someone’s whole world. Gulliver is an incredibly sweet and affectionate Cattle Dog with a loving heart and a gentle spirit. He thrives on companionship and enjoys being close to his people, whether that means relaxing at home or joining in on daily activities. Gulliver is very dog-friendly and has successfully met and played with dogs of all sizes — from big breeds to tiny pups. He has even attended doggy daycare and done wonderfully in a group play setting. His social nature makes him a great candidate for a home with another dog or regular canine playdates. He is kennel trained and comfortable staying home in his crate when needed. Gulliver has also been very appropriate and respectful around cats. Like many smart and curious dogs, Gulliver has discovered the joys of counter surfing, but he is currently learning the “off” command and making good progress.
