Story
Aunt Trixie is a sweet and affectionate 1.5 year old Blue Heeler cross pooch who weighs just over 40#. She came to rescue with an old healed broken leg and broken pelvis, likely from being hit by a car. There are bone fragments moving around and she has pain and limitations on her movements. She needs surgery on the femur and a quiet place to recover and regain her strength. Trixie is sociable and very playful. She can’t stop herself from playing with the other young dogs in her foster home. That is not conducive to good healing. We don’t want to completely confine her to a crate, so we hope to find a foster home without an active dog who is willing to care for her during her recovery. She may have physical therapy after her surgery and her foster may need to transport her to her therapy, but that is unclear at this time. WOULD YOU CONSIDER FOSTERING HAZEL with intent to adopt? IF YES, GIVE US A CALL: 651-645-4370. Hazel is a sweet athletic young lady with a lot of love to give. Hazel was an abandoned dog in a remote rural area. She took up residence under the stairs of a dog loving Elder. The Elder asked if we could take the little dog into rescue as the pooch was homeless, pregnant and it was very cold. The Good Samaritan has stayed in touch with PUP, making regular inquiries about how she is getting along. Very well, thank you. Hazel is a beautiful girl who has been a devoted mommy but is ready to pass on the responsibility to someone else. Hazel does well with children . She is good with the resident dog but has been slow to warm up with other dogs. She would probably be happiest as an only dog. We had DNA testing done on one pup from the litter. Based on that testing we got Hazel’s DNA. She is Chihuahua, Siberian Husky, Australian Cattle dog, and German Shepherd. She weighs about 30# and is remarkably agile. If someone is looking for a dog to train in agility, Hazel might be your pooch. Check out the video linked at the end of the bio. The area where she came from had many loose and stray dogs so she was accustomed to that environment, but her Good Samaritan said she acted fearful there. In her Saint Paul home she has gotten along well with the resident dog, but is slow to meet new dogs. She is careful meeting new people and it takes her a few minutes to warm up. Hazel has been vet checked, is vaccinated spayed, and de-wormed. When she was spapyed we found a buckshot pellet suggesting a story we will never hear but can imagine. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a dog, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a dog. She is 4yo and 2nd breed is Siberian Husky. My family’s living situation has changed. We have many teenage boys and new faces coming & going, and it is stressful for Elsie as she’s fearful of men at first. We have tried working with a trainer. This decision was not easy, but I hope it is the right choice for both of us.  Elsie's ideal home has other dogs because she loves to play & snuggle. She can also adjust to living with cats over time, as she now has a cat friend. She is wary of men, but with time and proper introductions, she will warm up to them. She needs a confident & patient human and stability. She is very smart, food motivated, loves to be by your side. She is very alert to her surroundings and can act like a guard dog but it’s just in her temperament. She is fine in a kennel and needs to eat in a kennel or alone. She’s a beautiful, smart, loving girl and deserves the best. I will keep her until she finds home. I will donate the adoption fee to Carver Scott Humane Society.

My name is Josie. I am a six month old cattle dog mix. I have enjoyed playing with every dog that I have met so far and it sure takes a lot to tire me out! I love to run and play and chase balls. I also like to play in the water and the kiddie pool. I’m still learning a lot of my manners, but they say I’m very smart and a quick learner. My foster home has a fenced in yard so I know where my boundaries are. I need lots of room to run and play. I do like toys, especially the puzzle kinds that keep me busy! I know lots of commands like sit and shake. I do like go to my kennel most of the time, but when it’s time to get up in the morning, I am ready to go. I would be too best with someone who has experience with cattle dogs, because I have a lot of energy. Lester is NOT my given name...... it was a nickname given to me when I was saved at a gas station and attempted to "own" half the rescue crew by.... wait for it....by humping them!! Thus, Lester the **lester was born...But NOW my humping is done, I am neutered and happy and playful and much more respectful of my people! I am a gorgeous boy, and super friendly. I was found be a trucker at a truck stop- looking for love in all the wrong places :( BUT, he contacted the rescue who swooped down and saved me!! And I have been living the LIFE ever since :0 However, my life is NOT complete without my OWN family! No one really knows how i ended up at the truck stop, but you should know that I was loyal til the end..... waited and watched for my family at all hours of the day and night....
