Meet Rusty! This beautiful boy is 5-years-old and ready for life's next adventure with his forever family!He is a very good boy with impeccable manners. Completely house trained and fully grown, Rusty wouldn't dream of counter surfing, chewing furniture, or sleeping less than 8 hours a night. Rusty is very smart and knows the commands Sit, Wait, Paw, Spin, Leave It, Wait, Touch, and Go Find. He also knows Walk, Leash, and Outside.Rusty's favorite daytime activity is hanging out on the couch. If you are sitting there, he would like to spend the whole day next to you. However, he does enjoy a few 10-15 minute walks throughout the day! An expert on the leash, Rusty enjoys sniffing his way through the neighborhood. He won't pull you along, but you might need a well timed "Leave It" command to make it back home at a reasonable time.Rusty has been to a variety of breweries and restaurants. Each time he was very polite and ignored other dogs and new people. He knows how to behave in public and is low maintenance as long as he has his people!Rusty is looking for a home with an open floor plan, a large couch and a person or two who work from home to keep him company on the couch. Because he thinks he has herding experience (he doesn't, but please don't mention it to him), Rusty wants to keep an eye on all of his people, all of the time. He also has good taste and prefers to share your big, comfy bed whenever possible.If you are looking for a polite, well trained, couch potato dog, stop scrolling! Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
