Story
Buggy is pure love and joy with all the energy that comes with that. Eager to please and ready to play Buggy loves walks, running in the yard, and hanging out at the dog park. She’s fairly responsive with basic commands but still has a little puppy energy that distracts her at times. House trained, no counter surfing, past the ‘I chew the things you love’ phase. Crate trained. Buggy will do best in a lively home. She needs about an hour and a half of exercise a day. A morning walk/run, a yard to play in, a trip to the dog park or other young dogs to play with. She’s good with our cat and our older dog (9yr) though the older dog gets tired out and crabby with her. She’s had lots of fun with our young adult kids and has been great with elementary age kids. Zero biting, not really a barker, no aggressive or worrisome behavior. We’ve had changes in work and family and can no longer give her the home she needs. Sweetest dog we’ve ever had and we want the best for her.

Story
Ever wonder if it is even possible for show stopping beauty, an amazing brain, AND a five-star winning personality to come in the same package?! Lucky for you — they do for this sweet girl! Juniper is a treasure of a dog, waiting for her forever home. Just look at those beautiful, bright amber eyes and freckled nose. Juniper is a gorgeous girl and a perfect medium size. She always upbeat and carries a smile on her face. Besides her looks, Juniper is also a very smart, trainable girl. The sky is the limit for her. She’s eager to learn. She’s also pretty athletic so she would be a great running companion. Or maybe you’ve always wanted to try dog sports like agility. Juniper would be perfect! And best of all, Juniper has a very sweet disposition with every person she meets. She craves attention from her people and will be a loyal companion for years to come! She would be perfectly content being an only dog or possibly one other canine companion that suits her fancy. She's doggy selective, and would need a little time to warm up to a new BFF once they know she's in charge of the playtime antics. Juniper is a year or two old, 40-45 lb.

Story
Meet Roxanne! This sweet cattle dog mix is such a cuddle bug! At just four months old, she is already keeping her indoor area clean and goes outside to potty. Roxanne does well with other dogs and cats and loves attention. At this time, she is not a fan of being crated but does well outside of her crate. Roxanne’s current foster says she is absolutely precious and she could just hold her all day long. If this sounds like the pup for you, please complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Story
Lucy (the blue healer) was found in the walmart parking lot about 2 1/2 years ago. She is good with the other dogs. She's great with my 16 month old grandson and the neighborhood kids. Lucy is house trained and walks very well on the leash. We have never had her in a crate. She is fixed and we believe she has a vision problem with her left eye. She always turns to the right. She is very loving and loves to cuddle.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.McCartney and his siblings found themselves stuck in a high kill shelter in West Texas as very young puppies. They are great pups and are good with other dogs, cats and people.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful.  McCartney is the last of his litter to find a home. He has been working very hard at coming out of his shell and meeting new people. He can still be timid with new people(adults) but opens up more each week at events to strangers and at home each day. He LOVES kids and is quick to approach them.  He likes chin and booty scratches.  He will snuggle with you in time and gives the gentlest tiniest kisses. He loves other dogs and would do well a home with another dog to show him the ropes, but it is not a requirement; added patience will be needed if he's an only pup. He plays perfectly with dogs as well as independently, often found throwing the toys in the air to entertain himself. He is the ultimate stuffy killer but it's oh so fun to watch him enjoy the moment.  He walks well on leash, knows sit, has a good recall and trys hard to figure out what you are asking of him with a treat in your hand. He is good in his kennel while the foster is at work, he will also go chill in there when he needs a break all on his own. He's doing great on potty training with only a few accidents here and there, usually when the routine is disrupted for an extended time. He pays no attention to the cats in the home, he is respectful when they are around. He will allow them to snuggle up to him, he will bow to the cranky one but also respects her mighty paw or hiss when she's not interested. He would make a lovely addition to any home that is willing to give him a little time for a big reward of love and silliness Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 1:34 pm

Story
My name is Josie. I am a six month old cattle dog mix. I have enjoyed playing with every dog that I have met so far and it sure takes a lot to tire me out! I love to run and play and chase balls. I also like to play in the water and the kiddie pool. I’m still learning a lot of my manners, but they say I’m very smart and a quick learner. My foster home has a fenced in yard so I know where my boundaries are. I need lots of room to run and play. I do like toys, especially the puzzle kinds that keep me busy! I know lots of commands like sit and shake. I do like go to my kennel most of the time, but when it’s time to get up in the morning, I am ready to go. I would be too best with someone who has experience with cattle dogs, because I have a lot of energy. I am happy and wild and love attention and I need a job and some direction to keep me out of trouble! If you think that I would be a good fit for you and your family, you should email my foster mom directly! Dogfoster08@yahoo.com
