Wally is an all around farm dog who loves to run and feel the wind on his face. Goofy boy is a little stand offish at first with other dogs but warms up quick. Would do best with 12yo+ kids. Has been fostering at a farm and does well with ducks, chickens, goats and horses. House trained, a very good boy.

Story
Bonded Mother “Ciarin” & Daughter “Poppy” and have never been apart. Owner has cancer and recently had a stroke. Her husband died in July, so she’s no long able to care for them. 💔 Owner says: Ciarin & Poppy play wonderful together, love to play fetch. Ciarin is even more sensitive, I always felt she would have made a great service dog. She really knows my emotions and responds with love. Both very sweet dogs and have never been apart.

Story
Sugar Bear is a very sweet dog with high energy and a lot of intelligence. She has shown to be somewhat food, aggressive/resource guarding with food and treats. She has recently begun to be very territorial with my other two dogs, and as they are smaller than her, it has gotten into the point where we unfortunately need to rehome her. She would be best with family without other animals and no small kids. She will be an amazing dog with someone who can train her, and give her lots of exercise, which our family unfortunately cannot.

Story
This 2-year-old mutt brightens every room he enters! Nitro is all about his humans, offering endless loyalty, snuggles, and wet kisses. At 55 pounds, he’s still a true lap dog at heart, and will always find a way to settle in close and rest his head in your hands. Even though he spent six long months at the shelter, Nitro has an unwavering trust in people. He is house-trained and quick to pick up on rules, so he settled into his foster home with ease. He has come a long way with his crate training. When his foster humans go to work, he settles into his crate nicely with a benebone and a peanut butter kong toy. At night, he goes right to bed now that his crate is next to other resident dogs’ crates. He's making great progress on his confidence and his attachment, so his future family just needs to have patience and consistency in mind. Nitro can be noisy, so he will also require a home without shared walls (no apartments/townhomes).Nitro picks up new manners and skills VERY quickly. We have been working on teaching the “wait” command to build door manners and he’s made significant strides with this, especially when it comes to duration. We are able to put him in a “sit / wait” while placing his meal on the floor and before going through any doors, and he waits several seconds for a release command. He already knows all basic commands and would be a great candidate for continued training in obedience or a sport!Originally believed to be a Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix, Nitro has traits of Black Mouth Cur as well. He’s high-energy and thrives on long daily walks and plenty of activity, but he’s equally content to relax indoors as long as he’s near his people. Nitro will require an active home with a securely fenced yard (minimum of 4 feet tall), as his strong nose and curious nature make him prone to wander. As long as he gets his daily exercise in, he has no issues with behavior or house manners. With adequate activity and a dog-proof house, he could easily be left out to free roam in the house should his future family choose. He’s proven to be a social and playful dog, doing well with dogs of all sizes. Nitro’s playful side comes alive when he’s chasing toys or playing games of keep-away with his foster brother, always with a big smile on his face. While he hasn’t been around cats yet, his gentle demeanor suggests he could adjust with proper introductions. Nitro has also done really well with small children (3 and 4). In fact, he would probably love to be in a family with kids. He gave them lots of kisses and took treats gently. When they were playing and running around, he wanted to be right in the middle of the play. He even let our nephew stack toys on his back and played tug with him.Whether you’re heading out for a walk or curling up on the couch, Nitro is ready to be your loyal and loving friend! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450.
