Tina gets along with people and other dogs. We do not know what she thinks of cats. She is an energetic gal looking for an active family to do things with and would love a yard to run around in. Story
Maverick loves butt scratches and is walking well on leash. He isn’t super interested in playing with toys however he will play for a bit. His previous owner seemed to just let him out in the backyard and did not teach him commands or walk him much but our staff have been working with him and now Maverick knows how to sit and really enjoys taking walks in the woods. Maverick is anxious around other dogs so he would do best in a home as an only dog. He is sensitive about anything done around his neck but we have been working with him on this and able to put a collar/leash on. He will need an owner who is experienced with working breeds and will continue to work with him on this to get him comfortable with that and to give him the structure he needs. Maverick would love to have someone give him a chance to have a home of his own. Maverick is about 6 years old and 44 pounds. Please help Maverick find a loving family of his own. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Story
Opie was part of a litter found in the woods by a good Samaritan. Unfortunately their Mom was found deceased nearby. Opie had been adopted into a home with 5 children and then returned. The chaos and noise seemed to have made him anxious so now we are looking for a quieter home for him. He warms up more quickly to women initially but will get comfortable with men and will become very sweet and affectionate. Opie also likes to play with toys and getting treats. He can get spooked by sudden loud noises and will look to hide. We are working with him on some resource guarding with food as he does not like it when it is taken away from him. Opie likes other dogs - he will play with them and it has helped him come out of his shell. We do not know how what he thinks of cats. Opie is about 9 months old and 45 pounds. Please help Opie find the loving family he is looking for. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Story
Rocky’s story began when he was found in a very rural front yard—hungry, alone, but unbelievably sweet from the very first moment. He was taken to the local small town shelter for safety, but an experienced foster took one look at his sweet face and knew this boy needed more than a shekter kennel. She saw something special in him… and she was right. Rocky is a smart and striking 5-month-old Red Heeler mix, about 24 pounds, with the most adorable freckles and an expression that melts hearts instantly. He is affectionate and loves to snuggle just as much as he loves to run and play outside. Rocky enjoys his chew toys and, like most puppies, may occasionally snag a sock or blanket—but he’s doing wonderfully learning what’s his and what’s not. He does great in his crate, is progressing nicely with house training, and is eager to please. He plays well with other dogs and has been around cats in his foster home—curious but respectful, never aggressive. Rocky responds well to gentle verbal correction and truly wants to do the right thing. And when he wakes up? He has the sweetest little yawn that will make you smile every single time. This loving, highly intelligent puppy is ready to grow into a loyal, lifelong companion. If you’re looking for a best friend who will stick by your side for years to come, Rocky may be your perfect match. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting Rocky. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 1, 2026, 12:09 pm

Story
Dodge is a toung, strikingly handsome Blue Heeler/Lab mix with a bright spirit to match his good looks. About one year old and weighing 43 pounds, this mostly black shiny boy has a beautiful gray-speckled chest that gives him a regal, eye-catching look. With longer legs and a slimmer build than a typical Heeler, he carries himself with confidence and athletic grace. Whatever breeds make up his DNA, one thing is certain — Dodge is sweet, playful, and incredibly smart.   Dodge’s story began in the countryside, where he arrived at a rental home alongside a female Heeler mix and their six puppies. When the family couldn’t keep dogs, a cattle dog rescue stepped in to save the puppies, the mama was rehomed, and Dodge found his way to Critter Cavalry Rescue so he could be fully vetted and matched with the perfect home. Still very much a puppy at heart, Dodge brings goofy charm, happy energy, and a love of life wherever he goes. A fenced yard and an active household will help him burn off his enthusiasm and enjoy the adventures he craves.   He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and sizes, is respectful of cats, and would likely be a hit with kids who can keep up with his playful nature. Dodge is learning leash skills quickly and would make an excellent walking partner. He’s eager to learn, quick to please, and happiest when he’s close to his people, watching over them and soaking up attention. With continued training, Dodge is going to be an incredible lifelong companion. If you’re ready for a fun, smart, and loyal sidekick, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and tell us your city and state. Transport is available from Tennessee to the northeastern states. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 11, 2026, 10:00 pm

Story
Meet Buddy. This sweet 5-year-old Lab/Cattle Dog mix has been through a lot, but his loving heart has never changed. Buddy was rescued from Georgia after very sadly losing his human mom to cancer in 2024. His dad, now working long hours to get by, knew he couldn’t give Buddy the time and attention he deserves and begged our rescue partner to help find him a wonderful new home. Thanks to that act of love, Buddy is now safe with Eleventh Hour Rescue in New Jersey and ready for a fresh start. Despite the changes in his life, Buddy remains a happy, gentle, and well-adjusted boy. He gets along beautifully with all people, loves kids, and is great with other dogs and even cats. He truly is an all-around great dog who just wants to be part of a family again. Buddy is hoping for a home where he can be loved, spoiled, and cherished the way he deserves.
