I’m often called very handsome and I am a mix breed Lab and Blue heeler. I’m a strong guy and weigh about 65 pounds. I am a big guy with a heart just as big and strong. I love my people. Wherever you go I am right behind. I am a Velcro dog. Want to go for a ride in the car? Just open the door and I’ll hop in. I am very gentle with people. I love having my teeth brushed, nails trimmed and even my fur brushed. However, though I love people I am not fond of other animals or most dogs. Because of my breed, I have a high prey drive and want to give chase to just about anything moving. Also because of my background I exhibit aggression towards some dogs. You see I was adopted out of a shelter when I was about 1-2 years old. I have been in a loving home for the past four years but my humans are getting old and having health issues. So I am looking for a new family to love me. I know I have my short comings but I more than make up for it with my loyalty and devotion to my humans. I know my basic commands, and understand the importance of sit, stay, “come “and leave it. I am energetic and enjoy going on walks and playing fetch. I also like to play with squeak toys and chew sticks to keep myself occupied. By the way I am healthy, neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all my vaccines. My ideal home would include a large fenced backyard, with ample space to run and play. Mojo was found as a stray and we made every effort to find his owners but to no avail. He is an Aussie mix and of course with the breed comes high activity. I will say that he loves his down time though! He is NOT an apartment dog. He needs a good sized fenced yard. He is not great in a crowd of dogs but will do well with a sister or brother to play with. He hasn't been tested with cats so we don't know about that. The vet believes his age to be about 6 years. He's neutered, vaccinated, crate trained and heart worm negative. He is more than ready for his forever home! This precious girl came from one of the worst hoarding situations that we have ever dealt with. there were over 100 dogs on the property, none of them spayed or neutered. Finally, the authorities went in and they managed to get ALL of the dogs out of there. Filthy dirty situation, sick puppies, you name it. We choose to take Blossom home to our rescue because her eyes were begging us for love and attention. She was very pregnant and two weeks after arriving, she gave birth to 7 heathy puppies! Every single puppy was different, every singe puppy had a different daddy! We think that Blossom had never been paid any attention to because she was so shy. Once we weaned her babies we took her out of the nursery and into the house where she just blossomed! That's how she got her name! Her puppies have long since been adopted and now it's her turn. We actually did a DNA on her and it came back with 4 different breeds, which we kind of figured from the beginning. Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull, Boxer. Yes, she is truly a "Mutt!. She is extremely smart and will do anything for a treat. I want her to have a nice fenced yard with lots of room to run. Cattle dogs are working dogs and they need lots of exercise! She is spayed, crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and house broken, truly a gem! Ready for immediate transport. This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys.
