Story
Blue is a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd who was surrendered as his owner developed severe allergies. Blue is a friendly guy who likes everyone he meets and enjoys playing with other dogs. Blue lost his hearing when he was younger, but understands and responds to sign language! We have a video of the signs he knows for anyone who adopts him. The benefit to his condition is that he does not startle from loud noises. Blue is crate trained and housetrained and loves going for walks. He can be a strong puller on walks when he sees another dog as he wants to say hello. Blue is up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Story
**I have an adoption pending but hope you will consider one of our other dogs in need.** When Sadie lost her home, her first weeks at the shelter were devastating to her. She was very sad and defeated, and her eyes told you she had lost all hope. We are determined to help Sadie move forward and enjoy the best times of her life. Sadie is a pretty dog who loves to be out and about with her people. Her lack of a tail, size, coat, and intelligence leads us to believe she is an Aussie possibly mixed with something very sweet. When you watch her expressive eyes and face you can see she is a smart girl. At 38 lbs, 9-year-old Sadie is underweight under all her fluffy coat and should be about 45 lbs. She will soon be having a spa day to trim the extra fur from her paws. With good nutrition, we know her coat will shine and she will be gorgeous! Be sure to watch her video, which was taken before her spa day! Sadie has nice manners, and she is an easygoing dog. She is a dream in the car and settled right down in the back seat on the ride from the shelter to our vet's clinic. She also walks fine on a leash and does not pull, unless she sees a cat! No cats for this girl, she is too interested! She has been fine and polite with every dog she has met and seems not to need to be with them. She is eating well and takes treats very gently. Sadie dislikes being crated and a home where she would not be crated is a must for her. In fact, she rubbed her nose and injured it trying to get out of the kennel. Otherwise, Sadie requires no medicine, tested heartworm negative, is spayed, vaccinated, and ready for her home. Our photographer mentioned how sweet she is and how much Sadie loved spending time outside with her during the photo shoot. Watch for more pics post-spa day, but don't hesitate to ask about Sadie if you would love an easy, intelligent dog who has a joy of life and wants to be by your side. Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to become an important, forever part of their life journey by continuing the rehabilitation we have begun. If you would like to be part of Sadie's rescue story, and you have already been approved for adoption through SGRR, please contact Candy to be considered to adopt Sadie. If not yet approved for adoption, please visit our website to lean more and to submit an online application. Click here to visit our website. Please contact us with any questions regarding your application status. PLEASE APPLY by submitting an application via this online link: Click for Adoption Application About Our Rescue Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters need to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready. The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home. SGRR ADOPTION FEES - Effective May 1, 2020 (subject to change) $750 Puppy - up to 6 months $650 Young 6 months - 6 years $550 Senior 7 - 9 years $450 Senior 10 years and older $550 Young Special Needs $400 Senior 7+ Special Needs $1000 Young Bonded Pair $900 Senior 7+ Bonded Pair A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed. Please be a ray of light for this Sunshine dog and make a tax deductible donation toward medical and other expenses. Every cent of your generosity goes directly toward the care of a Sunshine dog. Meet Bon Jovi is the best! Cutie cuddlebug! VIDEO of this floofy baby boy! To apply go to https://rnrpets.org/form-dog-application/ - and make sure to give us as much info as possible. DO NOT CALL RESCUE but if you have questions u can TEXT NO CALLS to 9146885499 - please do an application BEFORE texting Meet our gorgeous Bon Jovi - she's a 12 w Aussie Border Collie mix who is going to WOW you with their cuteness and charm. This tiny tot comes from our Kentucky rescue after being left at a shelter for no reason - just another oops puppy that no one wanted to deal with. Happily she is healthy and adorable (of course) and having a blast in foster. She is learning to be crate and house trained and to have good manners. Aussie Border collie mixes are SUPER smart so Border Collie (or herding breed experience) is good for applicants. Make sure to research all the fun (and training) they will need to be the perfect BFF! Love dogs cats kids! More video and more pics upon request for approved adopters! This cutie is ready this week so make sure to apply now before others jump ahead. She will likely grow to be med/large dogs about 40-55lbs. WE DO NOT DNA TEST for breeds so you adopt and love what you get no matter what tests tell you or do not apply... We are guesstimating that her parents are Aussie Border Collie but have not seen the parents. Also expect to hire a pro trainer - as all puppies of this age and breed need proper pro training to be perfect companions. She has had their first vaccines so adopters will have to complete final rounds and she has been microchipped dewormed and had all preventatives per age - adopters will need to do our spay neuter contract as she is still too small to be spayed until about 7m of age unless vet says to wait per breed or medical advisement). Minimum donation required. Out of state adopters MUST pick up in South Salem Ny no exceptions.

Story
Ms Lulu is quite the character! She is happy and funny and Loves to run and run. When she stops, she stops! She took over the house and yard the first day protecting and keeping all threats away from the fence. She is a snuggler and will sit on the couch and sleep in the big person bed or an open crate. She does prowl and protect through the night. She is house trained and uses a doggy door. Lulu is not good with small dogs as her breed likes to keep the "rodents" at bay. I would say no dog under 20lbs - otherwise male or female dogs are fine. No idea about cats. She is a cattle dog and seems as if she may have been trained to herd beyond what comes natural? she is not good with lazy pet goats, pigs and chickens. Cattle and horses would be safe. She is an active working dog who would love an active lifestyle if you can provide it. She loves the water too. She will herd children by nipping on their heels so maybe a bit older children who understand that's just what her breed does and won't cry. She does pretty well on a leash, rides in the car like a pro, loves puppies because she was a mom a time or two. Her tongue hangs out and her jaw is a bit off (maybe birth defect or an injury) but it does not affect her appetite! She is spayed, HW negative and up to date on shots. please apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note Lulu is in San Antonio, TX and is available to be transported to your location with Your TX Rescue Connection transport. The fee includes adoption and transportation fee.

Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Meet Rain, a 15-month-old medium-sized mixed breed sweetheart rescued from Puerto Rico. Rain has been through a lot in her short life, but you’d never know it. She has the tenacity, spirit, and spunk of a happy girl. She is sweet, intelligent, and knows basic commands. She would do best in a home with a fenced-in backyard where she can run, play, and explore. Good with other dogs? Yes. Good with cats? Unknown. Quirks or fears? Afraid of loud sounds and traffic. Needs positive reinforcement, love, and patience. Housetrained? Yes. Crate-trained? Yes, she has been sleeping in a crate at night. Health problems? No known health issues. Activity level? High. She likes to play nip. Plays with toys? Yes, but do not give her cheap toys, toys that can break, or chews that she can break and swallow. Car travel? Very good in the car and no car sickness. And check out her heart-shaped nose and oh-so-adorable RCA dog appearance.     .All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.
