Story
Meet Raymond and we all know that EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND!❤️ Some dogs leave an impression because of how they look. Raymond will steal your heart because of who he is.  This 3 month old puppster was born around the middle of May and we can only guess what breed is the dominant lead in his DNA.  Due to his energy and his handsome good looks and build, we think Australian Shepherd is the dominant breed. Brought in to a small town rural Tennessee shelter recently with his brother, the shelter director contacted Critter Cavalry Rescue and asked if we could help take these two pups.  He has already experienced more change than most puppies should and his foster mom says she will hang in there with teaching him all the things he needs to be a good dog before he goes to a perfect family that matches his intelligence and energy. Raymond is full of inquisitive mischief and shenanigans.  Never a dull moment around this boy who is very active and ready to party most of the day.  He does nap, and he does cuddle after a good hour of playing. The moment you meet Raymond, it's impossible not to notice his incredible reddish coat with white accents.  Very handsome and striking markings. He's the kind of dog people stop to admire. But once you spend a few minutes with him, it's his fun nature and ready to go play heart, happy spirit, and eagerness to connect with people that become even more unforgettable. Since coming into foster care, he has embraced every new experience with enthusiasm. He's been neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped, and he's soaking up the joy of simply getting to be a young dog. He absolutely loves romping through the yard with his brother and foster dog friends, chasing, wrestling, and playing until everyone is worn out. Then, just as happily, he'll curl up beside you on the couch, content to rest his head against you and enjoy the quiet moments. Raymond is everything people love about Australian Shepherds. He's incredibly intelligent, eager to please, curious about the world, and always ready for the next adventure. He'll thrive with a fenced yard and someone who enjoys training, exploring, hiking, or simply making their dog part of everyday life. He isn't looking to spend his days watching the world from a backyard only —he wants to experience life with his family and be included in it. The right home for Raymond won't just see a beautiful dog; they'll see the amazing companion he's becoming. They'll understand that with guidance, consistency, and love, this young boy is going to grow into an extraordinary partner for years to come. Raymond has waited long enough for the life he deserves. Now he's waiting for the people who will choose him—not just because he's beautiful, but because they're ready to give him the forever home he's been missing. If your heart says this handsome boy belongs with you, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrennessee@gmail.com. We have a feeling his best chapter is just beginning, and we can't wait to see who gets to write it with him.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 9, 2026, 3:51 pm

Story
Ollie by Golly is the kind of puppy who makes people smile the moment they meet him.   This handsome mostly Australian Shepherd boy has a soft semi-long coat, beautiful eyes, and a gentle personality that is hard to find. Ollie does have limited vision on his left side because his left eye is genetically smaller than his right, but it does not slow him down one bit. His veterinarian says he is comfortable, doing great, and does not need any surgery. Ollie has learned to navigate the world just fine and is full of confidence, curiosity, and puppy joy.   He is a sweet, easygoing little guy who is incredibly gentle with a 3-year-old toddler in his foster home. He also does wonderfully with older children, adults, and people he meets. Ollie has no fearfulness and no rough edges to his personality—just a soft heart and a happy spirit.   When he is not cuddling near his people, Ollie is busy doing important puppy things: chasing bubbles, watching butterflies, sniffing every inch of the yard, playing fetch, wrestling gently with his dog friends, and joining in on the morning zoomies. He may even decide a bullfrog is worth investigating if one happens to cross his path.   Ollie has been in foster care for three weeks and has already blossomed into such a happy, loving boy. His foster mom has been delighted to watch his personality shine brighter every day. He would love a home with children, another playful dog, or simply people who want a loyal little companion close by.   If you are looking for a puppy who is handsome, gentle, playful, and wonderfully special, Ollie by Golly may be your perfect match. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to learn more. Please include your city and state. Ollie is fostered in Tennessee, and adoption is available in Tennessee as well as throughout the Northeastern corridor with weekly transport.

Story
Marley Girl is a happy, outgoing  8 year old Aussie Doodle with a heart full of love and lots of years and life left to share. This young senior girl is looking for a new home through no fault of her own because her natural herding instincts have taken over and she is chasing the chickens at her former home.  Apparently eggs are more important than sweet Marley.   This girl at 8 years is not too big and just 45 pounds and has lived with another dog during her life and also cats.  Chickens are different for dogs and so she is looking for a new place to live.  Marley is is fully house trained and potty trained, She loves riding in a car and enjoys watching the scenery go by as she rides shotgun. While Marley has a few years behind her she has so many more ahead of her. Her infectious smile only guarantees that you will be her beloved family that she will adore as an easy companion dog.  This girl is all about being a loyal, family-friendly companion who is past the puppy stage but still ready for more years of adventures, cuddles and making memories, Marley may be the perfect match for you. if you are a senior or a younger person that just wants a mellow dog to love.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.

Story
There is something unforgettable about Ozzy. Maybe it's his stunning crystal blue eyes set against his black and cream colored fuzzy coat and unique markings that make everyone stop for a second look, or maybe it's the joyful, laidback affectionate personality that shines through the moment you meet him. At just 3 months old and 18 pounds, this Huskey/Aussie mix boy has his whole life ahead of him, and he's searching high and low with Critter Cavalry to find the home he deserves. OZZY was born around the middle to first of May and we know nothing about his parents.  He was dropped off at a small rural Tennessee shelter and immediately the shelter director called Critter Cavalry.  He and his brother Rye (they look nothing alike) were picked up the next day and brought in to foster care with a family that has a 13 year and a 3 year old child.  Ozzy is the brother is as laidback as a Sloth. He just reads the room and then decides what his next move will be.  We love his charm and his lase faire attitude about life.  We think he must have Husky and Aussie in him but somehow the hustle and bustle of both of those breeds just never made it through to his personality DNA. He is wonderful with other dogs and the kids and he would be good with a cat or two if needed. He is a real snuggler that sleeps alot and navigates his daily hours with no real plan of action.  He just takes life as it comes.  He is being crate trained and learning the leash.  He is not housebroken yet as he has only been in our care for 2 weeks. Potty training is a process. > His foster family has quickly discovered what a wonderful dog he is. During early morning hours and late afternoon you will find Ozzy happily running through the yard before settling down for a well-earned nap beside his people. He is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and always looking for the next adventure. Like many puppies, Ozzy thrives when his mind is engaged and when he's included as part of the family. Whether it's hiking, training, playing fetch, or simply tagging along wherever life takes you, Ozzy would love to be there sharing those moments with his people. What Ozzy needs most isn't perfection—it's commitment. He's looking for an active home with someone who understands that young herding dogs flourish with exercise, positive training, and plenty of love. In return, he'll be the loyal, devoted companion. If you've been hoping to add a beautiful, intelligent, fun-loving best friend to your family, Ozzy may be exactly the one you've been waiting for. We are looking for a fenced yard since this big boy will be a 70 pound handsome boy.  His forever home is out there somewhere, and we can't wait to help him find it. If you think belongs with you, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting this remarkable boy.

Story
Mochi is a beautiful 4-year-old Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix who has been part of our family since we adopted him locally at just 8 weeks old. He is up to date on all vaccinations and has been well cared for and loved.Mochi is an energetic, athletic, intelligent, and loyal dog who loves being active. He would thrive with someone who enjoys hiking, running, long walks, or simply spending lots of time outdoors. As a mix of two active breeds, he does best with plenty of exercise and engagement.Making the decision to rehome Mochi has been incredibly difficult, but with three young children—including a baby—we've realized we can no longer provide the lifestyle that's the best match for his needs. We're looking for a loving home where he can get the time, attention, and activity he deserves. We're hoping to find an owner/family who will give Mochi the active, fulfilling life he'll flourish in. He is a handsome & affectionate dog and we hope he finds his forever home.

Story
Teddy is a 10 month old Australian Shepherd mix who is looking for his forever home. Originally from Alabama, Teddy was adopted by a family in New Jersey, but due to circumstances beyond their control, they were unable to keep him. He's now safe with us and ready for his next chapter. At about 40 pounds, Teddy is a handsome boy with a gorgeous brindle and white coat. He's sweet, happy, and loves being around people. As an added bonus, Teddy is being fostered by one of our favorite dog trainers, so he will be fully trained and ready to succeed in his new home. Teddy would love an active family that can give him plenty of exercise, attention, and love. If you're looking for a young, affectionate companion to share life's adventures, Teddy may be the perfect match for you! ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Story
Meet Fern! Some dogs are simply waiting for a family. Fern is waiting for her people—the ones she'll happily follow through every adventure life has to offer.Fern is an 8-month-old Border Collie mix, born around the middle of November 2025, and currently weighs 29 pounds. She'll likely mature to around 40 pounds—the perfect size for hiking trails, road trips, neighborhood walks, and curling up at your feet after a day well spent.Fern and her identical sister were adopted together as tiny 6-week-old puppies. Unfortunately, their family realized they couldn't give the girls the time, attention, and exercise they deserve. Now Fern is searching for the forever home she's always deserved. This beautiful black-and-white girl has a sweet, easygoing personality and is happiest when she's included in whatever her people are doing. She loves children, enjoys the company of other dogs, and is always ready for a new adventure. She hasn't met cats yet, though she and her sister have been known to chase chickens—something that may disappear once she's no longer teaming up with her mischievous sibling!Like many Border Collie mixes, Fern is happiest when both her body and her mind are engaged. She'll thrive with daily walks, backyard games, hiking adventures, or even dog sports like agility, flyball, or dock diving. She doesn't need a perfect life—just one where she's loved, included, and given opportunities to learn and explore.Imagine having a loyal companion who's waiting by the door when it's time for a walk, riding shotgun on weekend adventures, making your kids laugh in the backyard, and greeting you with a wagging tail after every workday. That's the life Fern is hoping for—and the life she's ready to give back with endless love and devotion. If you're looking for a best friend to share life's adventures, Fern may be the missing piece you've been searching for.To learn more or request an adoption application, email ccrtennessee@gmail.com and be sure to include your city and state. Story
Meet Artsy Marcy – A Survivor with a Brilliant Mind and an Even Bigger Heart     Artsy Marcy is a beautiful Border Collie mix, around 2 years old and weighing 55–60 pounds. Her life began with unimaginable hardship, yet she has never let her past define her. It is believed that Marcy and her siblings were abandoned in a remote rural area of Tennessee. While trying to survive on their own, tragedy struck when they were hit by a train. Her sister did not survive, and Marcy was left with a severely dislocated hip. Thanks to a compassionate foster who refused to give up on her, Marcy received the surgery and care she desperately needed. Today she has only a slight limp—a small reminder of just how far she has come.     Marcy is everything you would expect from a Border Collie mix: incredibly intelligent, observant, athletic, and eager to be part of whatever her people are doing. She loves hiking, exploring, and would thrive in an active home where she can exercise both her body and her mind. She has a natural herding instinct and enjoys having a job or purpose.   She is wonderful with people and genuinely enjoys human companionship. While she may be a little shy during first introductions, she warms up quickly and forms strong, loyal bonds. Once she trusts you, she is affectionate, devoted, and eager to please.     Marcy has lived around cats, but she does have a prey drive, so any home with cats should be experienced and committed to proper introductions and management. She also does well with some dogs but can be selective about her canine companions. Like many intelligent, confident working breeds, she appreciates respectful introductions and clear leadership. She would do best with an adopter who understands Border Collie personalities and will provide consistent structure, training, and outlets for her energy.     Marcy isn't looking to be just another dog lying quietly in the corner. She is looking for someone who will appreciate her intelligence, celebrate her spirit, and give her the freedom to be the amazing Border Collie mix she was born to be.   Against all odds, this remarkable girl survived when she easily could have been another forgotten statistic. Now she deserves the happy ending she has fought so hard for.   If you'd like to learn more about Artsy Marcy or speak with the foster mom who saved her life, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.     Could you be the person who gives this extraordinary survivor the forever home she's been waiting for?       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 9, 2026, 3:51 pm
