Story
Sweet Marley is an owner surrender. The family was just never home and she was spending too much time in her crate so they decided to give her a chance at a better life. Aussies are a high energy, high activity dogs. Please be sure to research the breed before you adopt. They need a lot of room to run and play and believe it or not they can be smarter than you! She is a very gentle soul, Miss Marly. Wonderful with children and loves to play with all the dogs here at the rescue. Look closely, she has one blue eye, one brown eye! She's also a very athletic dog. Marley is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, house broken, crate trained and heart worm negative. Ready for immediate transport PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Queens, NY Woof, I’m Kumi. I am a 2 yo aussie/border collie mix and weigh 39 lbs. I am spayed, up to date on vaccinations, on preventatives and microchipped. I am also housebroken and crate trained. I love feeling the wind in my fur during car rides, exploring new places (not too crowded) and running around open fields. My favorite toy is a flirt pole and I have the energy to play it forever if you don’t say “all done.” Lots of people said I’m very smart since I often look up at my hooman on walks, know a bunch of tricks and hand signals. Little do they know, I would do anything for food! If you leave food out, I’ll try to steal it when you’re not looking. When meeting new people, I could be nervous (moving away or becoming reactive where I’ll lunge and bark) or very excited (jumping, which I’m not supposed to do). I’m usually afraid of males but when I warm up to them, I prefer the males over females. Playing with dogs is so fun but I need to be alpha! I’ll try to snap if another dog goes near my things or gets a greeting from my hoomans since I’m a resource guarder. When on leash, I’m unpredictable when I see another dog, just like people, but if they start barking at me, I will be triggered. Many things scare me which makes me reactive 😞 I’ll need my next hooman to be patient, continue my training and build my confidence. My next hooman must have experience with reactive doggos. Like many Aussies, I’m very quirky and photogenic! Take a look at my Instagram (@looni.kumi). We can sing together when you go “awoooo” in the right pitch. I’ll communicate with you through staring contests, whining and weird noises. If I sense someone near the door (even if they are across the street and this doesn’t only apply to my home, it could be anywhere I’m staying at), I will be your protector and bark at them. I’ll thrive in a quiet home in a more rural/suburb area where my hooman is home often or works from home. No fur siblings or small children please. A big fenced yard to run around is a must! My recall is 80% there but if i know you have food, I'll come running. Continuing training for my reactivity is very important! At home, I love to join you on the couch to cuddle and get lots of belly rubs and pets! I will also nudge toys on you, so we can play tug of war or fetch. During down time, I enjoy napping near your feet or in my “place” (elevated bed). If you think you can provide a great home for Kumi, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Kumi. Owner’s Contact Information: (716) 638-0799 or loonikumi@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Neva, a charming and lively 3 1/2-month-old female Australian Shepherd-Labrador mix. Neva possesses a delightful blend of energy, intelligence, and playfulness. She is highly social and incredibly sweet, making her a wonderful addition to any loving home. We think Neva will be around 50-60lb full grown.  Neva's vibrant personality shines through her endless puppy energy. She is always ready for fun and enjoys engaging in playtime with her human companions. Her intelligence allows her to quickly pick up on new commands and tricks, making training an enjoyable and rewarding experience.  This adorable pup is great with both dogs and children, making her an excellent choice for families looking to expand their furry pack. With her friendly and sociable nature, Neva will eagerly embrace playdates and social interactions with her fellow four-legged friends. She also has the potential to live harmoniously with cats. Neva is still in the process of learning proper housebreaking and crate training. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, she will learn fast! If you're seeking a loving, playful, and smart addition to your home, Neva could be the perfect match for you. Her infectious enthusiasm and affectionate nature will undoubtedly bring joy and happiness to her forever family. Consider opening your heart and home to Neva, and prepare for a lifetime of love and companionship! Can't adopt, but want to help? Consider fostering! Neva would really benefit from the stability & love of a foster home while she waits for her forever family. We provide all supplies!   THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN ADOPTING ONE OF OUR AMAZING RESCUE DOGS - WE CAN’T WAIT TO HELP YOU FIND YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND! The first step in getting started with our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application on our website at www.adopt-a-dog.org. We welcome you to come visit our shelter! Meet & greets will be set up by appointment once your application has been received & processed. If a dog is still listed on Petfinder, we are still accepting applications for them!   *Name: Neva *Rescued from: Tennessee *Adoption fee: Puppies up to 1 year: $550 Young Adult (1-4 years): $475 Adult (4-7 years): $400 Senior (8+ years): $300 *Health: Up to date on age-appropriate core vaccines so far (adopter will be responsible for remaining vaccinations if applicable), spayed/neutered , microchipped, dewormed *If the dog you are adopting is not yet spayed/neutered at the time of adoption, we require a $150 deposit in addition to the adoption fee (to be refunded upon proof of surgery within 6 months of adoption)     ** Please note that we are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the dog’s physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is often limited. We encourage you to consider individual personality rather than relying on a label – meeting a dog in person is the best way to make sure it’s love!   FAQs: WHAT IS THE ADOPTION PROCESS?: The first step in adopting an AAD dog is to fill out an application via our website www.adoptadog.org. Once we receive your application, one of our application processors will contact you, and answer any questions you may have. We will also ask for additional information if needed (landlord or veterinarian contact information, or other based on your application). Once an application has been approved, we will schedule a mutually convenient time for a meet & greet! We do not operate on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the dog.   HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO ADOPT?:  You must be age 25 or older to apply to adopt. If you live in a home with other people (ie parents, relatives) the person who will be financially responsible for the care of the dog should be the one to fill out the application.   HOW CAN I MEET THE ADOPTABLE DOGS?: Meet and greets will be scheduled once your adoption application has been fully processed by one of our adoption processors. Please be sure to fill out the application as thoroughly as possible, as we want to make sure we find you the perfect match!   *If you have any additional questions that have not been answered, please e-mail info@adoptadog.org! ##1707127##
