Meet Kai! Kai is a 5-year-old, male, Australian Shepherd with a heart as big as his beautiful smile. He’s the full package --- looks, brains and charisma. Kai came to rescue after his senior owners made the incredibly difficult decision to rehome him due to health and age challenges. It’s clear he was raised with love—Kai is well-mannered, affectionate, and loves being around people. He is neutered, fully vetted, vaccinated, and microchipped. Kai is house- trained, crate-trained, great on walks and car rides, and knows commands like sit, down, stay, and leave it. Like a true Aussie, Kai loves to play fetch with a ball or frisbee, but his favorite thing is simply resting his head in your lap and soaking up all the pets. Kai does well with dogs, cats, adults, and kids and would thrive with an active person or family who can give him lots of exercise as well as love and attention. A fully fenced yard is preferred so he can run and play. Kai is hoping to find a new forever family—maybe even his “soul dog” person. Could that be you? Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Kai is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet him will be set up for approved adopters only. His adoption fee is $350 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. He is neutered and microchipped. He has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONSHi there! I’m Mocha, and I was named for my beautiful, chocolate-colored fur, though my foster family says my personality fits the name too. Sometimes I get these sudden bursts of puppy energy, and they call them my “mocha latte zoomies”. I love to play, and get along great with other dogs and kids, and while I haven’t met any cats yet, I’m still young and learning about the world.Thought to be around 3 months old, I’m a super smart little girl, and already picking up on potty training. Like most puppies, I’m still learning what I should and shouldn’t chew, and I’m easy to redirect and eager to learn. Every day I’m becoming a little more confident. I still like to follow my fosters from room to room just to see what they’re doing, because I enjoy being part of the action. At night, I sleep in my crate, and I settle down after several minutes and sleep well.My foster family says I’m the kind of puppy who makes people smile and laugh with my clumsy little sprints, silly zoomies, and joyful puppy kisses. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and clever puppy to love for a lifetime, I might just be the perfect one for you.We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONSWinnie the Pooh is about 3-month-old Australian Shepherd mix puppy with the soft, cuddly charm of a teddy bear. True to her sweet name, she has a calm and gentle nature, often content to entertain herself or relax in your arms. She’s a curious little explorer who loves following her people around, chasing soft balls, and engaging in playful tug-of-war—especially with her beagle friend. Maybe around 30lbs when full grown, Winnie is wonderfully social, getting along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and people of all ages, making her an easy fit in just about any loving home.Despite her young age, Winnie is already showing how eager she is to learn. She’s doing well with house training and even understands cues like “potty” and “outside.” While she’s still figuring out the leash, she settles nicely in her crate after a few minutes and sleeps peacefully in her pen or kennel. She has a playful chewing phase, but she’s easily redirected with her favorite squeaky toys and soft stuffies. Quiet and easygoing—she’s only barked once to ask for attention—Winnie is a joy to work with and a loving, adaptable companion ready to grow alongside her forever family.We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Story
This handsome fellow and his siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Big boy is a gentle boy but does love to run and play with other dogs. Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions.
