Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Capitan is the sweetest little boy.  Well not super little, he is probably around 25-30 pounds now and will most likely get a little bigger.  We are unsure of his breed, he looks like he has border collie in him but probably also some terrier, maybe lab, his coloring suggests dalmatian.  He is amazing with other dogs and kids, loves to snuggle.  We are not sure how he would be with cats in his home but at our events he doesn't even seem to notice them so he probably won't care.  He is working on potty training but is crate trained and does pretty well on a leash.  He loves the water and mud so heads up.  One thing you need to know...he is deaf, and mostly blind, he lost one eye (congenital issue and it was removed), the other eye is not great either.  We think he can see shadows because he navigates his surroundings just fine, even when he is in a new place.  He would benefit from someone who has experience with a deaf and blind dog as training is difficult since he can't hear.  But he is so easy going he would be fine as long as his people do their research and learn with him.  Otherwise he is healthy, he is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400 To adopt Capitan, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 10:58 am

Story
Meet Thistle! 🐾 Thistle is a 4-month-old Border Collie mix (best guess) weighing 17 lbs. This sweet and playful girl has the perfect mix of puppy fun and affectionate cuddles. Thistle loves following her people around, snuggling on the couch, and playing in the yard with other dogs. She especially enjoys chasing a ball, exploring outside, and digging through the toy bin to find her favorite soft toys and Nylabones. She has a medium energy level and would love a home where she can play, learn, and be included in family life. A fenced yard would be wonderful, but not required. She would likely do great with another playful dog, though she could also be happy as an only dog with plenty of attention. Thistle is crate trained and sleeps through the night. She is working on house training and making progress every day. She already knows sit, comes when called, and is a very smart puppy who learns quickly. She is great with other dogs, loves meeting new people, and has done well with elementary-aged children and older. She has not been around cats in foster care, but may do well with a dog-friendly cat. Thistle was found as a stray and came into rescue underweight, but she is thriving now and gaining weight beautifully with proper nutrition and care. If you’re looking for a smart, loving, playful puppy to grow with your family, Thistle may be the perfect match! If you're interested in meeting, please fill out the application below! https://www.woofanimalrescue.org/adopt This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason. Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval. Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Breed and age estimates are based on veterinary advice, shelter records, physical appearance, and information provided by previous owners. The adoption fee includes: 🐾Microchip registered to 24 Pet Watch for free 🐾DHPP Vaccine series 🐾Bordetella Vaccine 🐾Leptospirosis Vaccine series 🐾Rabies vaccine 🐾4DX Heartworm test (7 months of age or older) 🐾Spay/Neuter (performed at one of our partner veterinarians as scheduled by the rescue) 🐾General wellness care (includes deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention) For adoption questions, you can submit inquiries to woof.adoptions@gmail.com Thank you for considering adoption and helping give rescue dogs a second chance!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143 Noah &#226&#173&#144&#239&#184&#143 Noah is a 6-month-old Border Collie/Lab mix… and 100% lovable goofball. This fuzzy little lovebug is eager to please and just waiting for his forever person or family to choose him. What’s he like? Great with other dogs and loves to play. Equal parts Velcro pup and independent entertainer — he’ll happily dig through the toy basket and keep himself busy. Knows not to chew furniture or shoes, though socks and dryer sheets are his weakness (he’ll drop them when asked!). Can get overstimulated in chaotic environments and prefers slow introductions. He may take a minute to warm up, but he’s worth the wait. Once he trusts you, he is the sweetest snuggle bug who just wants to be close to his person. What can he do? Kennel trained (sleeps through the night and goes in on command). Fully potty trained with subtle but clear cues. Excellent in the car — calm, comfy, and observant. Recently graduated a 10-day obedience program! He knows “wait,” “place,” “come,” “heel,” loose-leash walking, and more. His perfect match? &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Someone committed to continuing his training and staying consistent. &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 A confident, dog-savvy adopter who can guide him and help build his confidence. Noah is smart, silly, and full of heart — he just needs someone ready to have his back forever. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi… I’m Neely. I’m a 8.5-month-old Border Collie/Lab mix with a heart of gold. I’m still young, but I’m already starting to wonder why I’m still waiting. I know I'm not the best at meet and greets. I am a little shy when I meet new people and I guess they don't like that. I do try but I just like to get to know new people. I wish someone would give me a chance! I’m playful and curious about the world, and I try so hard to be a good girl. I’m doing well with potty training. I’m learning to sit — I’m not perfect yet, but I’m trying. I’m also getting better on the leash every day, because I really want to make someone proud. I’ve spent time with kids, even tiny ones, and I was gentle the whole time. No nibbling, no chaos — just kisses and quiet love. I like to follow my people around, staying close, just in case they need me… or in case they leave. Right now, I’m happy where I am — but what I really want is my own home. A place where I don’t have to wonder how long I’ll stay. A family who sees me before I grow up and get overlooked. They had a training class at the rescue and I did great. I made some new friends. I'm a friendly girl! I feel comfortabe with other dogs right away If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who will love you endlessly and never stop trying, I’m right here. Waiting.
