My family took Joey in because his previous owner passed away. He is an extremely loving dog and lives for affection. He is housebroken and walks well on the leash. He loves walks and car rides. Unfortunately, we have two other dogs and he has started bullying and acting aggressively towards them. I believe he needs a home where he can be an “only child.” Relatively low energy. He is happy to go for a 2 mile walk, but is just as happy to spend the day on the couch. He is afraid of the groomer and storms. He does not get destructive, but he will pant and pace. Crate trained. We rarely shut the door to it, but he often goes in it to sleep or relax.

Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $300 (in TX)
