My mom has a chronic illness and needs to re-home me. At just 1.5 years old and 55 pounds, I have a playful spirit and a high energy level, that makes me the perfect adventure buddy. This cost will be on the rescue.Us dogs don't care about being handicapped. We adjust. This kind of surgery can be from $5-$7,000. Being I am young, the rescue may try to raise funds to save my leg. In Olmsted Township - Hey everyone! Let us introduce you to Mr. Max R. Roni. Max is an almost 7 year old Australian Shepherd. He’s had a sad past, losing his home, his mom and dad and now looking for a forever home to accept him as he is. It’s time for Max to find his furever home and thrive. Max came to ASF grossly overweight. He has been with his foster for several months trying to get some of his weight off and to help him be happy again. He’s lost a lot of weight already and is feeling much better. Max is a gentle old soul. When in the house, he’s pretty chill… he’ll find his spot and most of the time he’ll hang there alone. He will bring you his tennis ball (his FAVORITE toy) and wants you to toss it once he gives it to you. Max really loves butt rubs and being petted. He gets super excited to go outside and play ball or chase or catch a rolled Frisbee. When it’s time to quit, he just finds a spot to lay down. Max gets nervous on car rides and isn’t a fan. He’s very content staying at home. Walks are okay; he’s a bigger boy so he does pull some. Max is great left in the house all day: no accidents, no destruction. He does like the couch and would prefer to share your bed. Max has an issue with resource guarding toys… all toys belong to Max. Thus, a home with a submissive female or as an only dog would be best. His submissive 2 year old female foster sister Aussie plays chase with him but will drop any toy she has when Max comes near. He wasn’t nice the first time, so she just lets him have any toy. (The male Aussie in the house did not back down and this didn’t go well at all.) Due to his resource guarding, a home with small children would not be advised nor any dominant dog. Max is a sweet boy who just needs to find the right home. Someone to pet him on the couch, toss the ball for him once in while, take him out in the yard while you work or enjoy sitting and watching the day pass. Max is neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, housebroken, crate trained, and on HW/flea prevention. He is currently being fostered in Olmsted Township, OH. There is an additional $20 fee to transfer his microchip to his new owners. All adoption fees go to help rescue other dogs like Max. Emoji was seen being abandoned by his owner on the side of the ride before they drove away without him. Emoji took off into the nearby fields, and was on the run for several days before some kind people found him and brought him to the shelter. Because we have no history of Emoji, we are not sure how he is with cats or kids. He was very shy and scared at first, but now he’s the biggest lover boy. He has not been placed with other dogs, but he has not been reactive with any nearby. Emoji has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)

***MAZIE MAE IS A COURTESY POST - SHE IS NOT IN OUR CARE*** Mazie Mae is 10 yrs old and 67 lbs, she is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Mazie Mae's current family can no longer keep her due to recent health conditions. Since we are currently full and on an intake hold, we are trying to help her find a new home. Mazie Mae is very friendly, very easy to take care of and is very low maintenance. She LOVES kids and being around them. She lived with another dog in the past but she has not been around cats since she was a puppy. She is crate trained and house broken. She has a leaky bladder that she was recently medicated for and the medicine has been working great. She will need to be on this medication for the rest of her life. The medicine costs $135/year.
