Story
Nova is 4 months old and currently weighs 16 pounds. She is a sweet, active girl that is great with dogs, children and cats. She was doing great with house training in her previous home and loves rope toys. We were told she is a supreme cuddle bug and loves car rides. Her mom had surgery and could not longer care for her and that is why she is with us now. She should do well with most any active family. Nova will be current on medical for her age and preventions. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an application at Richardsonrescue.org. All visits require an appointment. For questions, please email Richardsonrescue@gmail.com. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 20, 2025, 3:33 pm

Story
Willie is a loving purebred Australian Shepherd. He is five years old and has had one owner. He has not been around children so I don't know how he would act with them. His owner is sick and in the hospital so he can no longer care for Willie. Willie has a lot of energy and loves to run and play with other dogs. I would love for Willie to have room to run around in his new home. A farm would be great.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Charlotte, NC *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Ozzie! She is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd and weighs 35 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Ozzie is nervous around strangers! No kids, cats, or dogs, due to her reactivity! Once she trusts you, Ozzie is sweet and loving! She loves to play and has a lot of energy! In 2023, she bit someone after they tried to take something out of her mouth, that she stole from the trash. She also bit someone on the ankle after they tried to prevent her from eating food that had fallen onto the floor. In May 2024, she bit a family member who was dog sitting her. He walked into the home; she growled and gave him a warning. He continued to enter the home, so she lunged and clamped onto his pant leg. He tried to remove her, and she bit his hand. In April 2025, she bit the ankle of a dog sitter who got too close to her while she was eating. On 5/12/25, she bit the owner after they tried taking away a toy that she destroyed, so she wouldn’t choke on it. Ozzie also has a history of nipping and biting upon being startled, without giving any sign on a warning, other than a whale eye. She is on 20mg of fluoxetine daily for her fear and anxiety. The owner is surrendering her because of her reactivity issues, especially towards people and other dogs. They are also expecting a baby and don’t want her to hurt their baby. She needs to go by 8/1! If you think you can provide a great home for Ozzie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Ozzie. Owner’s Contact Information: Chloe chloe.brengman@gmail.com

Story
Macy is 7-8 years old, 85lbs. needs to lose some weight She is THE PERFECT DOG. She does NOTHING wrong.
Macy adores children and warms up to people quickly. Macy loves walks (does great on leash), tennis balls, sticks, belly rubs and treats. She is trained and follows commands (sit, place and come). Did I mention she likes treats?! She is very smart and food motivated so would be easy to learn other tricks/commands, etc. She gets along great with other dogs once she gets to know them though unsure about cats. She is truly the happiest just being wherever her humans are. Macy was adopted 6 years ago and now her owner doesn't want her anymore. She claims she has allergies, and she went thru a divorce ad lives in an apt. we try to vet our adopters thoroughly but unfortunately we can't always predict what people will do. They have let her get a good bit overweight so she definitely now needs a better home. The last thing a bog dog needs is to be overweight, Please consider giving this wonderful girl a better good home.
