Story
Ru is a tri-pawd mini American Sheppard and Australian Sheppard mix. She has been with us for the last 6 years, since she was a puppy and is a part of our family. She is very loving, loyal, and always up for an adventure A year ago, Ru lost her leg due to a freak accident that required amputation. She has recovered fully and loves playing frisbee and ball. She has no clue she used to have 4 legs! Also a year ago, her humans had a baby. The combination of these two things has made Ru a little more anxious - if you know aussies, they are high anxiety dogs as it is - and we just feel we aren’t giving her the attention or life she deserves. Ru would be best suited for a household that has no other dogs (cats are fine) and the family has a lot of time for walks, cuddles, and play. She does well with children, and with all humans in general. She does not get along with other dogs.

Story
Layla is a gentle, affectionate girl who warms up quickly and loves to cuddle and play. She’s lived with other dogs in foster and done well, and she’s also cat-friendly. With adults, she bonds beautifully after a proper introduction and loves being part of the action. She has a nice medium energy level and is easy to entertain with indoor fetch, puzzle toys, or a bit of training time. Layla walks well on leash, is fully potty trained, and has excellent house manners. She’s also comfortable in a crate and settles nicely during mealtimes.Layla already knows several commands and learns quickly — she’s a bright, eager student. She adores tennis balls, squeaky plush toys, and anything that makes her think.Layla is a wonderful mix of cuddly, clever, and fun, and she’s ready to bring joy to her new home. The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! From his foster: “Ralphie – Your Adventure Co-Star1 year old | 48 lbs | Australian Shepherd MixRalphie is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds and wants to truly be part of your life. He’s intelligent, expressive, and athletic — a classic working-breed mix who thrives when he has structure, purpose, and connection. At one year old, and still figuring out the world, he can be sensitive in new situations and has shown some fear-based reactivity in the past. The good news? With structure and training, he has been making wonderful progress and building confidence every single day. He is looking for experienced, steady leadership to help him continue that upward trajectory. He would do best in:• An adult-only home (no young children)• An active household that enjoys walks, hikes, and enrichment• A secure yard (he’s athletic and curious!)• A home with breed experience and commitment to continued training    ##2622392##

Story
Meet Quarry - URGENT FOSTER NEEDED! We'd love to get him into a loving home ASAP and we also need to make some moves in which dogs are where, so we're hoping someone will step up to take this guy in! Quarry is one of five young Aussie pups we rescued from a puppy mill situation in Eastern WA. Like the others, he suffered porcupine quill injuries—but his were the worst we’ve ever seen. This poor boy even had quills down his throat. When we found him, Quarry was starving, in pain, and desperately pawing at his face to try to escape the agony. It broke our hearts. The good news? He’s been to the vet, the quills are gone, and he’s on the road to recovery. At the rescue kennel, he’s started taking food from our hands (pill pockets are his favorite!). But Quarry is still very shy—understandable after the trauma he’s endured. Now we need your help. Quarry needs a patient foster home with no cats, where he can finally leave the kennel behind, learn to trust again, and discover what it means to be safe and loved. If you can open your heart and home to this sweet, gentle soul, please fill out a foster application today at RedWagginRescue.org The sooner we find him a foster, the sooner he can heal—inside and out. *************************************************************** ADOPTION INFO Dog adoption fees include: - All Basic Dog Vaccinations - Rabies - Bordetella - Flea & Tick Treatment - Spay (Up to $400) - Neuter (Up to $300) - Microchip & Registration All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs and cats in our rescue. Story
Kobe is just under seven months old and from a reputable breeder in AZ. I’m hoping to rehome Kobe to a household, preferably with kids, and a large outdoor space. He is a friendly, social and extroverted dog, and loves people as we as other dogs. He is in his teens though, so he can sometimes have his teen tendencies of fearfulness. He is potty trained, crate trained, knows some tricks, but he does have some on-leash reactivity. Again, he’s friendly and wants to greet everyone he sees!

Story
Meet Opal Opal is a beautiful 3-year-old, 29-lb Border Collie / Australian Shepherd mix with a sharp mind and a huge heart. We adopted her in November 2025 and have invested months in training, daily exercise, and working with a behavioral trainer. After much thought, we’ve realized our home isn’t the best long-term fit. Our son has special needs, and the dynamics in our home seem to increase Opal’s anxiety. Because we love her, we want to find a home where she can truly thrive. Opal would do best with an experienced owner in a calm household. She’d likely be happiest as the only dog, though she socializes well off-leash and lives peacefully with our cats. She’s a smart, high-energy working breed who loves walks, fetch, and especially frisbee. She’s very food-motivated and eager to learn. Opal is fully house- and crate-trained, sleeps in her crate at night, and knows many commands. Location: Seattle, WA Message if you’d like to learn more.

Story
Panda is a very playful dog. She is the sort of dog that doesn’t let other dogs play. She is smart and eager to please. A lot of work has gone into rehabilitating her after she was abused as a puppy. She is crate trained. The reason that she has to find a home where she can be the only pet is because she doesn’t listen to boundaries that the other pets in the house lay down, and there is concern for that leading to injuries.
