Story
Mia is an 8-year-old purebred Beagle looking for a loving home. She is a smart dog who knows many commands, including sit, down, out, stay, wait, speak, leave it, off, no, and gentle when taking treats. She enjoys playing fetch, going on walks, and spending time with her people. Mia is food-motivated and learns well with consistency and positive reinforcement. She would do best with an adopter who can provide structure, patience, and regular exercise. She has a lot of love to give and deserves a home where she can thrive.

Story
Meet Luke! 🐾 If you've been looking for a loyal little shadow with a nose that never quits and a tail that's almost always wagging, then Luke just might be your perfect match! Luke is a 6-year-old Beagle weighing about 24 pounds. He's a little on the skinny side right now, but don't worry—he's doing his best to fix that! Like any self-respecting Beagle, Luke absolutely loves food and never turns down a snack. His high metabolism just means he appreciates every meal all the more! Luke can be a bit shy when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, but give him a little time and patience and you'll discover one of the sweetest, happiest dogs around. Once he trusts you, his tail hardly ever stops wagging—sometimes it even wags while he's dreaming! As a true hound, Luke loves following his nose wherever it leads. Exploring the yard, sniffing every blade of grass, and investigating every interesting scent are some of his favorite pastimes. Because of his Beagle instincts, Luke should always be walked on a leash and should never be off-leash unless he's in a securely fenced area. A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus for him, but it's not required as long as he's able to safely enjoy plenty of sniff-filled adventures. Luke is crate trained and willingly goes into his crate when asked. Like many Beagles, though, he likes to "sing" for a little while before settling in for a nap! He's also not quite fully house trained yet, so he'll need a family committed to taking him outside frequently and helping him continue building good potty habits. One thing you won't have to worry about? Luke absolutely adores children and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He's a gentle, friendly boy who loves being part of the family. In fact, every morning when his foster gets up for work, Luke lifts his head, checks to see what's going on, then happily decides it's still too early and curls back up to sleep. Luke is looking for a family that understands Beagles, appreciates their charming quirks, and is ready to laugh at his silly personality, spoil him with treats, and let him sniff to his heart's content. If you're looking for a sweet, happy companion with a heart of gold and an adorable Beagle voice, Luke is ready to fill your home with love, tail wags, and plenty of joyful adventures. If you are interested in adopting Luke, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY/Dog **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. If you need to reach us regarding your application, the best way to contact us is through email.** We are located in Fayette County, GA and are a foster based rescue without a shelter building.

Story
All our dogs are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. Senior dogs receive extra bloodwork and we try to do dental cleanings on any dogs that need them. Most of the dogs in our care are crate-trained and cat tested. We test with kids when we can. Our process can seem involved and long - we appreciate your patience. Adopting a dog is not like buying a candy bar in the checkout lane; it should never be a last-minute decision or one that is not fully thought out. ADOPT MEJuniper is a lovable 2 year old beagle-dachshund mix with a sweet disposition and lots of brown and black freckles all over. Though shy when she initially meets someone new, she quickly warms up and is  eager to roll over for belly rubs every chance she gets. On walks, she will keep close to you and follow your lead. At home, she’s happy to curl up in her bed or keep you company. She doesn’t beg, takes treats gently, and enjoys following the lead of her older foster sister. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect pup.”   Juniper needs to be in a quieter home, without young children.  She does have a bit of separation anxiety and does not care to be restricted access.  Crate training is in the works, but would need to be continued upon adoption.  Like what you see? Fill out our online application! We work on a first received, first approved, first adopted basis. We definitely encourage people who are interested in adopting, even if they haven't found the right dog yet, to fill out an application. Our process can take as long as two weeks (we work day jobs!) so having an already approved application speeds things up considerably when you see a dog that catches your eye. Adopting a dog is not like buying a candy bar in the checkout lane; it should never be a last-minute decision or one that is not fully thought out. This adorable little man comes from Newton County. He’s around five years old and 18 pounds. Murphy enjoys the company of other dogs and likes to be held. He gets vocal when he wants to eat or go outside.  Murphy is a strong heartworm positive, and has an enlarged heart. He also has an enlarged prostate which might be caused from a urinary infection. He has a frequent cough and suspected hypertension in his lungs. Poor boy! Hence, Murphy will be with us for a little while as we work to get him healthy. He’ll be available for adoption, hopefully in around 4-5 months after his heartworm treatment. We’ll keep you updated on his progress.     Like what you see? Fill out our online application! Adopting a dog is not like buying a candy bar in the checkout lane; it should never be a last-minute decision or one that is not fully thought out. ADOPT MEMeet Freddie Mercury! Freddie is a goofy, lovable 6-year-old very Beagle boy with all the classic Beagle charm. He adores going for walks and exploring the world with his nose—he’ll happily let you (and the whole neighborhood!) know when he catches an exciting scent. He does pull on leash, but he’s working on his manners and making progress with training. Freddie would thrive in a home with a secure, fenced-in yard where he can sniff, wander, and enjoy the outdoors—one of his favorite things to do when the weather is nice. He’s happiest in a quieter home with moderate activity, where he can relax with his people between adventures. Freddie was returned to us due to some behavior concerns and is not suitable for a home with young children. He’s currently working with a trainer, and he’ll need an adopter who is committed to continuing his training and providing the structure, patience, and consistency he needs. If you’re ready to help Freddie become the best beagle buddy he can be, this sweet, silly boy is ready to meet you!Like what you see? Fill out our online application!
