Lil Sleepy is looking for their forever home!
WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Lil Sleepy is way more than her name suggests! This sweet girl is an absolute gem with a goofy personality and a serious talent for cuddling. She’s the kind of dog who can keep up on an adventure, then happily spend the afternoon soaking up the sunshine or curling up next to her favorite person.
She has been wonderful with children of all ages, from about 5 months old through 6 years old, and has consistently been gentle and patient around them.
She’s also been doing great with her training! She knows sit, down, shake, wait, off, and recall (with recall currently most reliable in lower-stimulation environments), and she’s becoming more consistent every day.
She is completely potty trained and can comfortably go 10+ hours when needed without an accident. She is crate trained although she may protest with some initial crying before settling in. She has also done wonderfully with being left uncrated in the house for extended periods—she hasn’t destroyed anything and is relaxed and happy when her person returns.
She’s also an excellent travel companion. She rode 9 hours to Maine and was a total champ the entire way!
For an active family, she’s a great partner for running and outdoor adventures. Interestingly, she tends to be even less reactive on leash when running. When it’s time to relax, though, she’s equally happy doing one of her favorite activities: sunbathing. ☀️
She’s easy to handle for grooming, too, and will happily let her person trim her nails without needing to be restrained.
She has lived with a cat and has done well overall, though she may occasionally want to chase or play with the cat, so supervision around cats or a no cat home is recommended. A meet-and-greet and learning more about her previous experience with the cat would be a great way to determine the best fit.
Most importantly, she is a total goofball and an expert cuddler. She has so much love to give and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog who can be both an adventure buddy and a professional snuggle partner.
