Story
Female, 4 years old, 40 lbs Personality: smart, goofy/funny, adaptable, playful, independent, eager-to-please, gentle, rambunctious, snuggler, shy, and affectionate. Meet Liesel! This clever gal is the perfect blend of playful and calm. Though she may be a little shy with new people at first, she warms up quickly and will soon be curled up beside you for couch cuddles or trotting around the yard with her tail wagging. Eager to please and very food-motivated, Liesel already knows the words “sit,” “down,” “touch,” “stay,” and “wait,” and she’s working on “come.” Liesel is house trained, crate trained, and sleeps peacefully through the night. This adorably quirky girl loves to find hiding spots or small cozy spots to squeeze into. Perhaps a pile of pillows by the bed is now her fort or she treks through baskets to burrow into the corner of the closet and get cozy for hours. She loves booty scratches, belly rubs, and rolling around on her back, and she lets out the cutest grunts and grumbles when tired. While Liesel is still adjusting to the hustle and bustle of city life, she loves her walks and enjoys exploring quiet trails where she can sniff and investigate at her own pace. Some days she’s full of energy and ready for adventure, while other times she’s content to relax quietly and soak up affection. Food-based puzzle toys are a favorite way for her to engage her curious mind. Gentle, loyal, and adaptable, Liesel bonds beautifully with people and other dogs alike. She’s done wonderfully with teenagers in her foster home and blooms brightly with a consistent routine. If you’re looking for a loving companion who will bring both joy and calm to your home, Liesel is ready to be your devoted sidekick. Apply today to meet Liesel! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. Story
5 yrs old, 19 lbs While Sweetie Pie has a compact size, she's got a giant heart. Sitting next to her humans or following them around the house are two of her favorite things. She may need a little time to get to know you first -- Sweetie Pie is a bit of a shy girl by nature. This darling girl is excellent on the leash and knows how to heel and sit! Plus, she appears to be house-trained and has been well-behaved when left home alone outside of the crate. Sweetie Pie bravely fended for herself by a rural road, all while protecting her six puppies, until a kind Samaritan brought her to a West Virginia shelter. Are you ready to give her a loving forever home? We think she will make a great companion. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC.
