Story
Tucker is a 3 year old beagle who has just come to us from a Virginia shelter.  Per the shelter staff "Tucker is a joy:  happy, well-behaved, good on the leash.  He LOVES to track the wild scents in our woods.  With four-wheel drive, he's faster than I am.  If I lag behind, he stops to be sure I'm OK--very endearing".  Our volunteer who greeted him locally said "he's adorable, super-friendly with people, ....travelled well in the car".  She described him as having a furiously wagging tail and wanting to give a multitude of doggie kisses.    Can you imagine the happiness and fun this adorable four-legged boy would bring to your family? ##2016375##

Initially shy, Bo gradually warms up to other dogs, showcasing his amiable nature once acclimated. If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Archie  (ARC0821OWSMN)Estimated Breed:    Beagle/FeistApproximate Age:   6-7 yearsApproximate Weight:  45 lbs Currently Living at:  BoardingAdoption Fee:  $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Hi, I'm Archie! Once, I lived in a crowded home, too many of us to count. It was a bit like being in a superhero comic, except I wasn't saving the world, just trying to survive. One day, a team of real-life superheroes came. They called themselves 'Animal Rescue'. They gently lifted me into a big van, and whisked me away to a place they called 'k9lifesavers'. It was scary at first, but I learned to trust these new friends. I still get anxious around other dogs, but I'm working on it. I'm sweet, friendly, and loyal, just waiting for my forever sidekick. Could that be you?  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.        Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me! I am a very shy, quiet gal, but once I get to know you, I am very sweet and cuddly and I love to snuggle in your lap! I also enjoy playing with kids and other dogs, once I am comfortable with my surroundings. I am almost housebroken, but I'm still young, so I am working on that and, of course, since I am still a puppy, I need training. Mostly I am pretty mellow and enjoy hanging out on the sofa watching my people closely. While I am a sweet little gal, I'm not a fan yet of being left on my own - I get nervous and will bark and chew on stuff, as I have some anxiety when I can't see my people! I will make a great addition to just about any home, but, I do need a stable environment and a family committed to making me feel secure. Submit an application today and change my life forever!  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. I'm Pup Sammy. I was found as a stray and brought to an overcrowded shelter in Georgia.  I came here with my pals, Olive and Hazel. Luckly, I landed in a foster home for now, and here's what my great foster mom says about me: "Sammy is a fun-loving, out-going basset, beagle, and hound mix.  He is a stunning puppy who is the perfect mix of playful and snuggly.  He is about five months old and around 30 lbs.  He is tall, but very lean.  Sammy loves to romp around the yard and play with a ball.  He enjoys falling asleep in your lap while you rub his belly.  Sammy seems to love bones and treats.  He loves his dry kibbles. He does well walking on his leash.  A fenced yard would be great for Sammyl, but is not a requirement as long as you have a long leash to allow him to run a bit each day.  He likes to be where the people are, but sleeps quietly in his kennel.  Sammy would do well as an only pet or with a doggie sibling.  He is learning how to play with others and we are working on his jumping up.  He just loves to let his people know how much he enjoys them.  He does not seem to mind his cat siblings. He is doing well on potty training and only had two accidents. Sammy seems very smart and should be a fun puppy to work with." If I sound like your kinda guy, and you have time to train and socialize a puppy, submit an application today. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training.
