Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. Cooper will need lots of exercise and playtime to help keep his puppy shenanigans at a minimal but with that in he should do great in town with a yard, out in the country or anywhere in between. With his short sleek shiny coat he is low maintenance in the grooming department making him more of a wash-n-to type of fella. And you DO know what that means don't you?!! I'm sure there more but those are the basics.. The cons: He has separation anxiety. Not tear your house or furniture up but he'll bark for quite a while when you leave. He is crate trained though. And he's not very good in the car he'll bark the entire time, he doesn't run around in the car or anything like that he just barks and yips. I think it's because he's just too excited to ride. Other than that he's a great dog, very smart and eager to learn new things.
