Estimated to have been born around January 3, 2021, she has already overcome a battle with heartworms and was successfully treated. Mrs. Puff was briefly adopted, only to be returned through no fault of her own when a new "fluffy" canine housemate didn't warm up to her. She has lots of love to give and absolutely loves to play in the play yard. Mrs. Puff tends to favor women and would do great as an only dog or in a home with just one other canine companion. Her adoption fee is $250. If you are interested in meeting this loving girl and potentially offering her a forever home, please complete an application on the A Doggie 4 You website at www.adoggie4you.org. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. Iris is currently at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. -Iris is a female, possibly Beagle/Dachshund mix and is 6-7 months old (January 8th) -weighs around 35 pounds on January 8th -Surrendered due to owner living in an apartment and she wasn’t getting enough exercise/too much energy -Walks on a leash -Crate trained -Does well with other dogs -Previous owner said she likes children -Is not housebroken, owner was working on it when they surrendered her -Loves carrots and celery -Loves stuffed toys -Plays fetch, loves to run and be outside -Video of Iris from January 7: https://youtube.com/shorts/GIUWBpLVamI?si=hzGtoKJjSluKEp8Q Prior to adoption, Iris will be spayed, vaccinated (DHLPP, Bordetella and Rabies), dewormed, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Liberty and Honor were born at the rescue on 5/22/25 to momma Daisy, who was pulled from the Fresno shelter pregnant. Honor is timid at first but quickly becomes your best buddy. He like to be where the people are and will get anxious and vocal when alone. He is good with other dogs but would do fine being an only dog. He is a cuddle bug with adults but has been afraid of children. Not sure how he does with cats. He needs all the things puppies need; potty training, leash walking and further socialization!
