Meet Emma! This sweet well adjusteud girl is ready to meet her forever family. Emma gets along well with other dogs and tolerates cats. She’s shy around new people, especially men, but if left alone, warms up quickly. Once past the introduction phase, she actually loves attention and will snuggle with you on the couch, even trying to sit on your lap! Because she’s an attention diva, she’ll do well as an only dog but doesnt have to be an only dog. So far, her only drawback is she doesn’t do well around young children. Their sudden movements make her nervous. Older kids, 10 and up should be OK. Emma is house and crate trained. She does well left on her own in the house, even for several hours or overnight. She walks well on leash, no pulling or lagging. Her energy level is medium to low. She enjoys laying on the deck watching for squirrels or bunnies. She’s a talker, and barks when excited or if she hears something, making her a good watch dog. Emma is spayed, up to date on vaccines.

Alfie is work in progress. He is by far the most shut down and anxious out of all his foster siblings. He is looking for a VERY special family that is willing to put in the time and patience to ensure he learns that the world isn't scary at his own pace. Alfie is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 25lb. His family will need to be prepared to continue work on potty, leash, and crate training using positive reinforcement. Alfie gets along with other dogs with proper introductions, and hasn't yet met kids or cats. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives. Alfie's family must have a fully fenced, secure yard as he is a flight risk. They must also have at least one confident dog that can continue to show him the ropes. Kids must be over 12 and respectful. Loud noises and sudden movements spook him. Finally, his family must be experienced dog owners. Alfie is making huge strides every day, and he's looking for a family that will take those same strides with him, at his pace. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs. If you've been looking for your shadow, we found it! Elmer wants absolutely nothing more than being close to his humans. He loves following you to the kitchen and the bathroom, and he loves settling in for a good snuggle even more. If you're really lucky, he'll even snore into your ear. Elmer has made such a huge transition since moving into foster, it's hard to recognize him. He spent the first five days hiding under a raised dog bed, and slowly but surely made his way out into the world, to the point where he now runs around freely with his foster siblings. He's still a nervous guy, but he is so resilient and wants so badly to live comfortably in our world. Elmer is about 25lb, 1.5 years old, and loves hard. He loves chewing on a good bone, but snuggling up on the couch is his favorite. He's also a great dancer and will stand on his back two legs, waving his paws for you to catch. Elmer's family should be prepared to continue working on potty, leash, and crate training. He gets along with other dogs with appropriate introductions, and has not yet met kids or cats. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives. He would benefit from being in a home with another confident canine companion, though this is not a requirement for the right fit. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs.
