Story
Name: Maple Breeds: Beagle Age: Adult Sex: Female Size: Small Maple is a sweet, petite Beagle that took herself on an adventure to the shelter and was never reclaimed by her owner. She is an absolute doll! Maple is great with dogs, curious about the cats and wants to chase a little bit she is smaller than many cats so backs off nicely when they swat her and make it clear they don’t want to play. She is good with kids but prefers the quieter predictability of adults and older kids as she is a more laid back girl herself. Maple loves her walks and sniffing all over the neighborhood but overall she is content to relax in the house or find a sunny spot to snooze. She is housetrained, crates well, and minds her manners in the house. Her ideal home would have a fenced yard or be committed to leash walks/ tie-out since being a beagle she is going to follow that nose if she is let off leash. She is about 5-6 years old, and about 20 lbs. Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $550 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bootsy and his brother Collins found themselves unwanted and on death row in a high kill shelter in West Texas.  They love other dogs, are indifferent to cats and young children are unknown. They are good with all people. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. We are getting to know Bootsy but what we do know so far is that he loves other dogs, likes the grandchildren (toddlers) and he is working on potty training. He keeps his kennel clean when he's in there. He does a slight protest when he knows you're leaving but settles down once he knows you are gone. At night he would like to be in your room, but he is working on kenneling solo in a different room currently and he has some strong opions on that. He doesn't mind cuddling with you when watching tv. First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vet visit.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 19, 2024, 4:08 pm

Story
Roxy is a 3 year old beagle-sized lab who is looking for someone to give her the solitary home she needs. She is currently in a home with other reactive dogs to the detriment of all parties - her health is deteriorating, and she deserves a chance at a happy life. She is a smart dog, house and kennel trained. She enjoys hanging out with you at home and isn't super high energy. She likes walks but is reactive on a leash toward other dogs, mostly in fear. Roxy has grown up in a home with kids, but has displayed aggression (lunging and barking) at strangers, so I'd recommend a home without kids. She does have one bite on record that I know about towards someone walking past her in an apartment, unprovoked. She needs someone with aggression experience or willing to keep her away from strangers. She really is a sweet dog who would likely flourish being an only dog with an understanding owner. We do have her history and vet records.

Story
Meet Sebastian! Sebastian is a special kind of boy.  He has a pretty rough life that only he knows what happened.  He lost his eye due to some kind of blunt injury and it left him a bit skittish if he can see you.  He is the kind of boy that really loves to be one persons dog.  He does amazing with our whole family (5 of us) and other dogs.  But trust is something you earn with him.  He will need time to warm up and meet and greets do not always go well but if you give him a chance he will surprise you.  He loves to snuggle, does great in his kennel even though he does not need to be kenneled.  He is house broken, does great in the car and loves walks.  Sebastian deserves so much more than his past, but he will need the most amazing people to give him is future.  Will that be you? Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $325.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 19, 2024, 9:49 am

Story
This sweet guy is named Mason. He is a 1 1/2 yr old beagle mix. Mason is always on the lookout for new adventures! He is quite the athlete. This boy can run like the wind, get out of his way when he gets the zoomies! He should have a fenced yard so he can run and play as his beagle nose sometimes leads him where he doesn’t belong. Mason has never met another dog he doesn’t like. He tends to get a little over excited when making friends, he doesn’t care about personal space and some dogs don’t appreciate that. He’s done really well with learning boundaries of the resident dog and those who have visited. I think Mason would do well in a home with a furry friend, he is young and full of energy, so another dog helps with his activity and helps tucker him out. He doesn’t really play with toys, but loves to lay in the yard and chew on a stick. Mason is very food and treat motivated. He learned to sit, shake and lay down quickly. We’re working on “stay” and he’s catching on.  He does do a little counter surfing so I’ve learned to keep good smelling stuff out of his reach. Mason has a little bit of anxiety over a couple things. He doesn’t like being left home all alone. He forgets his potty training and shows his anxiety by going to the bathroom in the house. He wears a belly band to prevent accidents like that. Meeting new people is tough for Mason. He will try to hide when a new person approaches, but it doesn’t take him long to warm up. The meeting kind of has to be on his terms. Once he warms up kids are his favorites. Mason does get car sick but is taking meds now and they are really helping. He loves to go for car rides though. He needs more leash training since his beagle nose likes to sniff out everything and he wants to hurry and find the next new smell. Mason has a regular dog bark, not a beagle bay. He is very affectionate and is a really good kisser! He has come a long way in foster care and I know that with love and patience Mason will be the best dog ever! He has so many more wonderful, goofy traits and we’d like to meet and tell you more about him!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
From a shy breeder dog to a fun, loving, playful pup. What a change she’s made over a short period of time. Chifon loves to be near people almost as much as she loves being near other dogs. She will need to go into a home with another dog she can look up to and help her confidence and security. She is the shadow of the resident dog in her foster home but also runs zoomies alone or plays with the other dog in the home. Chifon loves her toys and carries them around. She also loves Nylabones. She is very food motivated and can’t control herself at feeding time, in a good way though. At nighttime Chifon has to always touch her human. She also does great with the cats in the house. She is still shy around new people but warms up quickly. She’s still working on leash walking but is doing really well. She does get scared when a loud car or a motorcycle drives by, but is getting better with every walk. There are no small children in her foster home. She would probably do best with older kids or kids that will give her space and let Chifon warm up and go to them on her terms. She is a good car rider, just taking in her surroundings. Chifon also does well on her potty training. Overall, she is just an amazing dog that finally gets to be a dog and she’s loving it. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
