Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $600 plus tax Finch is an absolute sweetie who is going to bring you so much joy. He’s a fast learner, and with a little more TLC I have no doubt he will grow into an amazing dog!As a puppy, Finch is learning many important life skills right now. One area we’re working on that isn’t listed in the ‘training section’ above is functional relaxation. Functional relaxation means Finch is learning how to be comfortable and settled on his own. Most of the time, I don’t allow him to follow me from room to room, and he doesn’t have constant access to my lap. Instead, he’s rewarded for relaxing in his dog bed or nearby while I go about my day. We still spend plenty of time together (and yes, he absolutely does get snuggle time!), but he’s also learning that being independent and relaxed is safe and rewarding. This is a very normal and healthy part of puppy development and training, and this sets him up for success as an adult dog by helping prevent clinginess and separation anxiety. He is awesome & doing great! Please reach out with any questions, or to schedule a meet and greet with Finch!    * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

He’s a sweet guy who craves a connection and looks for eye contact while he’s snuggling in for a cuddle. He’s easy going and barks very little in the house. He’s mostly potty trained (2 slip ups on his first day). Elmer does well on a leash and loves walks. He’s good with kids though would thrive as a constant companion in a relaxed environment. He’s crate trained, but has been trustworthy when allowed to roam overnight and when home alone. If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Story
Meet Lou Lou, a spunky 3-year-old Beagle–Chihuahua mix with the perfect blend of playful charm and cuddle expertise. Lou Lou is fully house trained and doing great, though she’s still working on kennel training and learning that it’s not such a bad place after all. Her favorite pastime? Curling up for a nap right on someone’s lap, she’s a professional snuggler in the making. When she’s not soaking up affection from her humans, she loves cozying up on the couch with her foster sister or enjoying playtime with other dogs. Lou Lou is social, sweet, and enjoys canine companionship. She walks nicely on a leash and looks forward to her daily car rides, where she’s happy to sit back and enjoy the adventure. She's happily learning some tricks like sit and shake and working on her fetching skills. While she hasn’t lived with kids or cats, she has done well with children at the park and happily allows them to pet her, showing her gentle and friendly nature. Lou Lou does have a heart murmur, which has been fully evaluated by a Cardiologist at the University of Minnesota.  They do not anticipate it will cause her any issues or require any further follow-up.  She’s a happy, healthy girl ready to enjoy life to the fullest. Lou Lou is a loving little companion who’s ready to bring warmth, snuggles, and plenty of tail wags into her forever home. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, dentla, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $575.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 4, 2026, 9:41 am

Story
Rollie was surrendered after his owner died. He had never lived inside until he came into rescue. He is now house and crate trained. He does love to run and play and hide his bones outside. He had very little socialization with other dogs and is a little dog selective (prefers females more than males). He's more of a loner than most. He has always been crated inside to avoid the mischief a beagle tends to get into with chewing items he isn't supposed to be chewing. It is more for his safety of not swallowing anything harmful. He will bark to let you know when he needs to go potty. He has been completely vetted. He deserves a home of his own to retire in and enjoy the rest of his life. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application.

Story
Fiona #966 Age: 4 years old Color & Breed: Tricolor Beagle/Basset Mix Gender: Spayed Female Weight: 29 pounds Fiona #966 is no ogre, but she could be a princess in your home! This little bagel (beagle/basset) weighs an adorably small 29 pounds and is the perfect age of 4. Found as a stray down south, she’s used to her independence but her true love is being a companion to people. One of Fiona’s favorite things is exploring. When she’s really intent on following her nose, she sounds just like a mini helicopter. Fiona gets along well with other dogs, although she doesn’t need to be part of a pack. She enjoys walks and could probably be okay on a tie-out, but she really likes being able to let herself in and out of a doggy door. Fiona’s quickly adjusting to potty training and is learning to accept her crate. She also likes to use her voice, so potential adopters (and their neighbors) should take that into account. In her down time, she likes watching TV with people, going for walks, and playing with toys. For more information on adopting with MNBR visit https://www.mnbassetrescue.com/adoption MNBR adopts locally as much as possible so we can properly support our foster dogs and adopters if the need arises. Story
💜 Come meet me at our Adoption Event at Chuck & Dons in Wayzata on Sunday, 2/1 from 11:00am - 1:00pm! 💚 Age: Estimated DOB 10/19/2025 Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: No, I'm just a puppy Crate trained: No, I'm just a puppy Hi, my name is Hemlock 🌲 I was the second-born in a litter of ten—six boys and four girls—and I’ve been showing my leadership skills ever since. I’m pretty chill by nature, but don’t let that fool you… I love to snuggle. My momma’s name is Evergreen, which is why we’re known as the Pine Tree Litter. She made a long journey from Arkansas while very pregnant so we could be born into a loving and caring family. Just 48 hours later, we began making our big debut into the world. I live with my siblings in our warm and cozy “puppy room.” During the day, we get to run and play in the family room—and sometimes we’re even lucky enough to nap on the couch. My favorite things include eating, sleeping, and playing with my siblings. I especially love tug and tag—they’re the best! I’m also litter box trained, which makes life a little easier for our foster mom (after all, there are ten of us!). I’m now looking for my forever family, someone to love, snuggle with, and make a lifetime of memories together. I will be ready to go to my forever home after January 12. 💚🐾 Adoption Fee: $595
