**WCHS is adopting me from a foster home to help reduce my stress. Please call the shelter if you are interested in meeting me!**· Intake Reason: surrendered due to owner's healthKnown with:· Cats: Unknown· Dogs: Does well in WCHS playgroups, wanders around· Kids: exposed to all ages and did wellHi my name is Spock! After being adopted for many years I unfortunately had to be returned to WCHS due to the declining health of my owner. I am what some people might call a "Super Senior" because I'm almost 14 years old. Although I do have some slower days, I am still pretty active and love to go for walks. I also enjoy meandering around in WCHS playgroups. As you may know, with age tends to come some health concerns. I'm believed to me mostly deaf and I do have cataracts, giving me some limited vision. I definitely can still see treats! Being a Beagle, my nose also still works exceptionally well! I also have a history of infrequent seizures that correlate to stressful events, such as fireworks and gunshots. Due to the scarce amount of seizures I've experienced in the last 6 years, WCHS believes that my condition should be easily managed by keeping me in stress-free situations. There is a possibility that over the counter calming supplements may help as well. If you have any questions please call the shelter or come in and meet me in person and see how much life I have left to live!

Story
Jax is an adorable 2.5 month old mixed breed male puppy. He weighs about 8 pounds. We would expect him to be medium size when fully grown. He has a beautiful dark golden coat. Jax is a fun pup who loves people, other dogs, cats, and loves to play. Jax has been working hard on potty training, but being that he is just a young puppy, his new family should be prepared for a few accidents while he learns the routine at his new home in WI. He is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with his medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies him to be in good condition. He will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday May 3rd, and will be available to meet, and take home if he is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below. His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. He is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption. Should you find that he is not a good fit for your family upon meeting, the deposit is refundable. If you’re not already familiar with our group, please feel free to visit our Group Page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity If you are serious about this pup, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com. We take payments through Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp, or we can take card numbers over the phone and process them through Square. All of these methods provide a receipt. Thank you for supporting our efforts to bring Texas dogs north to loving homes! You can read more about us at https://facebook.com/TxRescueRiders (Texas Rescue Riders). Also feel free to join our Group Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity (Texas Rescue Riders Community) where members can post directly. Story
This beautiful young lady is Poppet, she is right around 3 years old. She is full vetted and now heartworm negative. She weighs right around 35# but needs to lose a few. Lol. She was mom to auto parts litter pups who came up a few months ago. Poppet gets along with other dogs with proper introduction and would love a doggie friend. Loves toys both squeaker and crinkle toys. And would love a home with a fenced in yard to run to get her zoomies out. She is very sweet and loving, will give kisses. She can be a tad shy when meeting new people, she just needs a little time to know she is safe and can trust them. But when she does trust she will be your best friend in the world. That being said, she would love a quieter home, with no smaller kids, but older respectful kids would be fine. I think she would be fine with cats. She also walks good on a leash. She is now hoping she can finally have a real home with people to love her and show her new and exciting things. An online application can be found at SandiPaws.org for this little ladyThank you for your interest in a Sandi Paws Rescue, Inc. Story
Hey! I'm Copper! I am a handsome 3-year-old Beagle that was surrendered because my family was moving and couldn't take me with them. That being said, I am looking for a new forever home to call my own! I love to play and go for walks, but I also love to settle down in your lap and snuggle on the couch! I am super sweet with people and have lived with kids of all ages! I have also lived with dogs in the past, but I do tend to get protective of my people, so not all dogs would be a good fit for me. We can always meet and see if we are a good fit first! I also have lived with cats, but I will definitely bark at them and get up in their face. One thing that makes me a bit special is that I have something called tracheal collapse which requires me to be walked on a harness at all times here at the shelter. Here is what the vet team here has to say about my condition:"This pet is suspected to have a condition called tracheal collapse. Tracheal collapse is a chronic, progressive, irreversible disease of the trachea, or windpipe, and lower airways (mainstem bronchi collapse).Tracheal collapse is a progressive disease, as the tracheal cartilage can continue to deteriorate over time despite treatment. Even pets who have surgery for the condition may need medications for life. The prognosis will depend on how well your dog responds to treatment. This animal will require continued care, so it is strongly recommended to contact your veterinarian to form a management plan.As the new owner, you will assume ALL financial responsibility for the future medical care of your pet. It is recommended to talk to your regular veterinarian regarding any needed future care, before you make the decision to adopt this pet."I would really love a home to call my own! Could you be the one to give me that? I would really love to break free from the shelter! Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 36.63 Age: 3yrs 6mths 4wks

Story
Meet Hazel! Are you seeking just the right blend of fun and cuddles? Search no more! Miss Hazel, here is a senior lady, but she’s playful and curious and engaged…which makes us think she’s perfect! Hazel loves attention and will ask politely to be lifted onto the couch or bed. If you talk to her but don’t lift her, she’ll bark just to be sure that you understand what’s going on here. She wants to be wherever you are, but her short little legs and loooong body make jumping difficult. Luckily, she's just a small 22 pounds. She settles right in for a nap after playtime or a walk, and will sleep as long as you will at night, curled up in the bend of your knee. She has not had any accidents in the house, but her foster takes her out after she sleeps and after playtime. Hazel plays a little rough and likes to trade toys with you rather than just give them up, so perhaps older children would be the best fit. She gets along well with other dogs, and she likes her walks, but let’s keep them shorter, please. Those little legs work hard to get her down the lane! She settles into the car once she finds her comfy spot and will watch the world go by through the window or enjoy a chew stick while you chauffeur her around town. Hazel prefers not to be left alone and will show her displeasure by barking for a few minutes after the door closes, so apartment living may not be her jam. She will rest quietly after a few minutes and await your return, which she will celebrate with wiggles and smiles, and happy little grunts! Hazel could live with a cat that would stand their ground with her, but its best if she doesn’t live with them, as she really enjoy chasing them when they move. If you want a sweet, curious, playful dog who just wants to be your best friend, Hazel is the gal for you! *Hazel is being fostered in Fredonia, WI.
