Story
Male Belgian Malinois, 1 year 2 months old. Neutered. He is intelligent and a quick learner. Ray can seem shy and timid. He doesn't trust new people, but once he figures out they're not dangerous to him, he's a really sweet guy. He is house-trained, sleeps well all night (we don't use a crate but he knows what it is). I would say Ray is a moderate energy level, good with small and large dogs. He is quick to make friends and play very gently on the playground. He knows "sit", "down", "come", "fetch" but needs a lot of additional work and training. Ray doesn't guard toys or food. I can say that he is a sensitive young adult who responds well to positive reinforcement training, especially when treats are involved. While he may show submissive tendencies, his potential shines with a little guidance and encouragement. It should be patient people, experienced dog owners who has a large breeds in the past. No cats, no children. Experienced dog owners who has a large breeds in the past.

Story
This is Marche. I'm looking to rehome her. I rescued her from a local shelter at the beginning of the year. Shelter said she is around 3 years old. I've been unsuccessful at getting her and my other Malinois to get along which is the reason for rehoming. She has some dog reactivity so I think she would really excel if she's in a single dog home. I've had successful play dates with friend's dogs though, I think if she gets a slow introduction to other dogs in a neutral place she is okay with them. She is great with people, very friendly to everyone she meets. She is house trained and I have crate trained her. I've taken her through basic obedience training to give her a foundation on basic commands. She is on the chiller side for her breed and more affectionate than most Malinois. Highly food motivated.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Athletic Tripawed Dog!Coco is an almost 2 year-old Malinois / German Shepherd mix who weighs approximately 78lbs.  Coco is just a sweet sweet dog. Curious, goofy, loving, and energetic - he loves everyone, and sees the best in them. Coco currently lives with two older 4-legged brothers and, while he would love to live with a fur-sibling, he is not part of a bonded pair. As long as he has fur friends to play with, Coco will be a happy boy! When playing with his human pals, in typical puppy fashion Coco can be a bit jumpy and mouthy, but that's easily addressed with a firm voice and a 15 minute walk :-) He's very verbally responsive and wants to please. Sweet Coco has been perfectly house trained since day one, loves car rides, and while he is working on his leash manners, he loves to go for walks and is learning not to pull in excitement when he meets new friends - that is Everyone! Coco knows the benefit of "Sit", "Down" and "Touch" to get his favorite treats, and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training. Check out Coco's profile on Rocky Kanaka! https://rockykanaka.com/one-leg-short-but-full-of-heart-a-german-shepherds-inspiring-escape-from-adversity/ Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetproject Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 18, 2024, 4:37 pm

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:11Meet Tri Tip! About Me: I'm Tri Tip, the resilient tripod Malinois with a heart of gold! I had a rough start, coming in as a stray after being hit by a car in East Oakland. But thanks to the love and care of my foster parents, I've bounced back stronger than ever. Energetic & Smart: Despite losing a leg, I'm still as energetic and intelligent as they come!  I thrive on mental stimulation and love showing off my problem-solving skills. I love exploring the great outdoors and learning new tricks. Sit, down, paw—you name it, I've mastered it! Just watch out, I 'm a crate escape artist, and too much time confined makes me distressed. Affectionate & Loving: Despite my rocky start, I'm a friendly and affectionate pup through and through. I adore cuddles and will happily lay my head on your lap for endless pets and scratches. Ideal Home: I'm searching for a forever home with someone who understands my journey and can provide the love and care I deserve. An active owner who can keep up with my energy and shower me with affection would be paw-fect!  While I might not suit young kids, older children might be okay. I can be mouthy when excited, so patience and training are crucial. And don't forget, I might need a little extra help with crate time. Plus, I'll need just as much mental enrichment as physical exercise to keep my clever mind sharp and engaged. Ready to open your heart and home to a pup who's been through it all?
