Story
Male Belgian Malinois, 1 year 2 months old. Neutered. He is intelligent and a quick learner. Ray can seem shy and timid. He doesn't trust new people, but once he figures out they're not dangerous to him, he's a really sweet guy. He is house-trained, sleeps well all night (we don't use a crate but he knows what it is). I would say Ray is a moderate energy level, good with small and large dogs. He is quick to make friends and play very gently on the playground. He knows "sit", "down", "come", "fetch" but needs a lot of additional work and training. Ray doesn't guard toys or food. I can say that he is a sensitive young adult who responds well to positive reinforcement training, especially when treats are involved. While he may show submissive tendencies, his potential shines with a little guidance and encouragement. It should be patient people, experienced dog owners who has a large breeds in the past. No cats, no children. Experienced dog owners who has a large breeds in the past.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Happy Tripawed Puppy! Coco is an almost 1.5 year-old German Shepherd Dog who weighs approximately 78lbs.  Coco is just a sweet sweet dog. Curious, goofy, loving, and energetic - he loves everyone, and sees the best in them. Coco came to SV Pet Project with a lame right foot and needed multiple surgeries, first to remove a benign tumor, and then a full amputation of the right leg. Coco has adapted quickly to being an amazing tripawed pup.  Throughout Coco's medical treatments, his sweetness, friendliness, and gentle nature have continued to shine! Coco currently lives with two older 4-legged brothers and, while he would love to live with a fur-sibling, he is not part of a bonded pair. As long as he has fur friends to play with, Coco will be a happy boy! When playing with his human pals, in typical puppy fashion Coco can be a bit jumpy and mouthy, but that's easily addressed with a firm voice and a 15 minute walk :-) He's very verbally responsive and wants to please. Sweet Coco has been perfectly house trained since day one, loves car rides, and while he is working on his leash manners, he loves to go for walks and is learning not to pull in excitement when he meets new friends - that is Everyone! Coco knows the benefit of "Sit", "Down" and "Touch" to get his favorite treats, and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training. Check out Coco's profile on Rocky Kanaka! https://rockykanaka.com/one-leg-short-but-full-of-heart-a-german-shepherds-inspiring-escape-from-adversity/ Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetproject Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Redding is a handsome boy who requires a home that can help establish boundaries for him. Redding is house-trained and enjoys car rides, playing fetch, and playing in the water. He is also a regular in the shelter playgroups and does well with other dogs. Redding is a working dog who will benefit greatly from training and a savvy adopter or foster. He is two years old and is likely a Shepherd/Husky mix. Please help us save Redding by sharing his story. Observation comments: It takes time to familiarize and gain trust, so a slow introduction is recommended. This animal requires an experienced handler. It does not do well with sudden human approaches from all directions during the first meet-and-greet. Summary: Due to its size and strength, kids need to be supervised around the dog. This animal requires some space for himself, so do not approach without permission from the animal. Attempting to socialize with this animal is safe at a short distance away without constant, straight eye contact. If this animal acknowledges you, he will approach you naturally and accept your invitation. Once that happens, you will be his best buddy for life! Redding has a hit-or-miss personality. His German Shepherd is a bit picky, but he plays well in the boarding facility playgroup and has been tested at our partnered local boarding club. His personality will change with a calm, quiet, loving home over time.
