Dog Day Out notes from last week: Today, I was so happy to get out of my kennel! I got to put on a collar and harness, and I got to go in a car!! I love the car! I wanted to help drive, but my new friends said I should eat cookies instead, so I looked out the window. I love going for walks! We walked a long way! I wanted to be in front, but my friends would stop, so I got to give them snuggles when they did that – I like snuggles more than cookies! We saw so many things! People and dogs and lots and lots of bikes! I don't worry about those things though, I have my friends! I almost tried to catch a squirrel, but it got away. That's okay; I gave more snuggles to my friends! Oh! And on the way back, I took a nap – I loved the quiet time. Three Words to Describe Me are affectionate – snuggly - and friendly. Notes from My Walker: Traviesa is such a delight! She pulls on the leash, but it seems like she just never got a chance to learn how to walk on a leash before. She did amazing on the busy trail – we saw bikes, walkers, and dogs, and she was non-reactive to almost everything. The small, barky dog got her attention, but he started talking first, and she displayed interest, with no reactive lunging or barking. She is not a cookie girl, but she LOVES to snuggle. We love it when dogs on the trail check in with their human friends, but Traviesa was at another level; she would stop and lean in for a hug before continuing the walk! She is a sweet, gentle, loving dog who deserves a home that will let her learn and give her the chance to be a fantastic companion dog.

Lady Haana is a mid size purebred Belgian Malinois with a calm, polite temperament. She’s professionally trained, potty trained, always obedient when asked to stand down. She knows commands like sit, down, come, lie down, shake, jump, and more. She’s highly trainable. I’ve raised Lady Haana since she was a puppy, and she’s truly part of our family. It breaks my heart to rehome her, but because my family is growing and I’ll have a new baby, I’m no longer able to give her the time and space she deserves. Lady Haana is super friendly and playful. she really loves playing fetch and is used to playing every day. She’s super fast and smart and it’s very fun to play fetch with her. She thrives in a loving, active home where she can get lots of affection, regular park visits, and daily playtime. She would do best with someone who can continue giving her the love, attention, and care she’s used to. She’s in excellent health, and I have all of her medical records available. Smokey is a gorgeous 5-year-old German Shepherd — smart, loyal, affectionate, and so ready to be loved.This handsome boy has so much heart. He wants connection deeply and is looking for a person of his own who will help him feel secure, loved, and understood. It doesn’t take long before his tender side shines through. He is wonderfully affectionate and has a way of melting into pets, leaning in close, flopping down for a belly rub, and soaking up every bit of love he can get. He is eager to engage, learn, play, and be part of your life.He is a bright, food-motivated dog who enjoys training and learns quickly. He already knows sit and paw/shake, seems familiar with down, and even started to crawl when guided with a treat. He enjoys tug, chewing on toys or a bully stick, and will even join in for a short game of fetch. On leash, he is generally easy to walk, with some occasional pulling when an interesting smell catches his attention. Like many shepherds, he is alert to movement and can be reactive to passing bikes, so he will do best with someone who can continue positive, consistent leash work and help him build confidence around triggers. He rides well in a car but gets very excited when it is time to get out of the car, so a tie-down or secure car setup is recommended for safe outings. Beautiful Wanda and her siblings were on Monday 12/8/25 shelter PTS list. She was only 9 mos old and social friendly. Yet SASA is euthanizing many friendly and healthy young dogs weekly due to capacity issues. Shelter is over-loaded daily by irresponsible owners that dump their dogs. Worse now during Holiday month when many are away on vacations. So the poor innocent dogs have less time at this shelter. Her brother was adopted last minute. Wanda had no options left so we tagged her to rescue her. Volunteers and staff adore her. She is super friendly dog friendly and smart. Needs basic training. She has mix of two very intelligent athletic and devolted brave breeds. Ready to learn and be your BFF for life. Loves toys knows sit for treats and is playful. Will play with her mouth but soft. Great hiking and walking buddy. Will probably enjoy any fun or working you both may like. Smart dog. We will emergency board her to save her life while we search for an experienced foster home. More info. to come. Update at her Foster Home: She is smart affectionate dog and people friendly. Loves to play ball go on walks & hikes lounging on sofa chair well behaved at home crate trained and very treat /food motivated. She is a sweetie. Everyone she meets always fall in love with her. Wanda is waiting for her forever loving and active forever home. She has a strong prey drive so no cats. She can be nippy (herding dog) when she wants attention or doesn't get enough exercise. So no kids. Need experienced guardian to guide her. Quiet in crate. Going to teen dog personality. She is a great hiking buddy and loves to play ball. She needs the exercise and then naps at home. Very well behaved. Loves playing with other dogs. Need foster home ASAP due to foster home returning back to work.
