~Odette~ Age: 3 Malinois Female 55+ lbs. House trained Are you ready to meet a cheerful pup that loves the outdoors and can actively keep up with you? If yes, this canine stunner may be your ideal match. Odette is a gentle gal, giving her fosters sweet kisses and affection. She handles her treats and soft toys with extra care. Playful and spirited, Odette gets along with fellow doggies when properly introduced. This lovely lady will fancy your skills as a delegator. Odette is most content when she stays productive and squeezes in some essential snuggle time. Malinois are historically herding dogs and can make amazing guard dogs. With this in mind, Odette’s ideal home offers her room to roam and a job to do. She would thrive in an environment with attentive hoomans without small children and pets. Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more here Marcus is an exuberant 1 year old Belgian Malinois pup, overflowing with enthusiasm and vigor. At 70 pounds, this big fella has a lot of power and intensity in his wagging tail and eager moves. Marcus lives to jump, jump, and jump some more. He instantly leaps at any opportunity for play or attention. While he loves chasing after toys and other playthings, fetch is not his favorite game. Marcus prefers interactions, craving cuddles, hugs, pats and pets above all else. This sweet pup transforms from a rambunctious kennel dog into an affectionate cuddle bug once given the chance. Marcus eagerly leaned into your lap, whining and licking your face continuously in his bid for more attention, affection and bonding. Treats were secondary to snuggles and smooches for this attention-seeking Malinois. Marcus can be picky about his canine companions and may prefer the spotlight for himself. He is used to being the center of attention in his human family, and may not care to share that status with other boisterous dogs. With the right, calmer and more deferential dog friends, Marcus can learn to enjoy playdates. Overall, Marcus is a wonderful blend of enthusiasm, energy and earnest devotion to his family. Continued positive-reinforcement training, exercise and structure will help channel his intensity into perfect harmony with his loving nature. Check out Marcus' video on our social here and we can't wait for you to get to know him! Click   HERE   to learn how to adopt and   HERE   to learn how to foster Marcus!  June 4, 2023, 2:12 am

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more here Malcom is a sweet and social Malinois puppy, currently around 6 months old and 30 pounds. His foster family tells us he is potty-trained & crate-trained. He is very affectionate with his foster family, and when meeting new people he can be shy and hesitant. We recommend an emphasis on confidence building using positive reinforcement methods for his training while he is still a young pup. He is expected to be a  high energy dog that will need plenty of physical activity  and mental engagement to help him be successful and happy as he grows!  June 4, 2023, 2:12 am

Our favorite Malinois sisters Tia and Tamara are back from foster and we are hoping to get them in a new family ASAP. They are a little nervous but adjust quickly to a new routine. They are well behaved in the house and mostly house broken. They can be left alone and are not destructive. They play well together and love meeting new people. They have been good around children and dog after a proper introduction. Drop by FAAS any day to meet these sweet, funny girls!

Story
Looking for a new loving owner for our sweet and smart Belgian Malinois, A! Ayda is a two-year-old dog who has been fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She currently weighs around 50 lbs and is a very loving and loyal companion. Ayda is potty trained and knows several commands, including sit, stay, and lie down. Despite her loveable personality, we are unfortunately unable to provide A yda with the space, energy, and engagement she requires. As a single person who lives in a 1-bedroom apartment, works on site full time, and travels frequently, we are making the difficult decision to re-home Ayda. Ayda has a big sleep head, which allows her to roam free at home when you have to be away. She may occasionally rear bark or cry, but is otherwise well-behaved and easy to care for. If you are interested in providing Ayda with the love and attention she deserves, please get in touch with us today. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Story
Max (watch my video!) was at a distant overcrowded shelter for over a month when his time was up. He had no options left so we rescued him. All the volunteers adore him. Despite having no walks from his shelter kennel once out he is well behaved and great with other large dogs he met at the shelter and volunteers. He needs time to warm up and feel safe then cooperative loves treats and is lovable. Smart and gorgeous. Max did great during his transport car ride but once at a new place he was nervous and confused. Did take treats. Once he knows you he will be your best friend and bodyguard. Max will need an experienced guardian and a home with a yard. For now no kids. More info. to come as he relaxes and learns. 7/1/22: He is now doing great at his foster home with 2 other GSDs. With time he adjusted to new people at home. He is still leary of of strangers. Bonded to his foster mom. Loves his walks/hikes playing ball and relaxing at his foster home. 9/12/21: Sadly when his potential foster home and her 2 GSDs during their two meets her female GSD did not work out with him. The female is less tolerant of new dogs and wants to be the top dog. Max did great with her male dog and social. He loves treats snuggled being petted and enjoyed the attention. Need basic leash training. Poor Max will continue to board until we can find him an experienced foster home that will give him time to warm up and feel safe. Max is boarding until we can find him an experienced and dedicated foster home. Donations needed to help pay for his boarding. To date since 10/20/21 over $4000. 10/1/21: Our volunteers are visiting Max and taking him out for walks and play yard. Doing great and friendly with 2nd visit with female and male with yummy treats and turkey hot dogs. Max goes to male volunteer for hot dogs long walk and fine being petted. Max is a sweetie with people he knows and trust. Max would be a great hiking and home buddy.YouTube: https://youtu.be/veR-UfNMVfgJune 4, 2023, 12:20 am

Sweetie Rocky (watch my video) was rescued from a distant shelter along with 3 other pups on 6/2/22. He is friendly cuddly and playful. Rocky loves playing with the other pups at his foster home. Rocky is smart and super well trained. Update from his foster home: Rocky is basically the phrase 'I'm up for anything!' in the form of a dog. Want to go on a week long adventure filled with rigorous hikes? Rocky is right there with you. Want to snuggle up on a rainy day to watch a movie? Rocky is right there with you! He wants to be everyone's best buddy and will accompany you with whatever activity you want to do! Training: Rocky knows basic obedience such as leash manners impulse control around doors and food sit down stay heel place and recall. He also knows a few cute tricks and his foster home has started doing AKC scent work with him he loves to use his nose! Drive Level: Rocky is a medium food driven and low toy driven dog. He loves to do fun training sessions and learn new tricks. Activity Level: Rocky is a medium energy dog. He loves to go on adventures and runs as well as play in the yard and he's perfectly content with snuggling and napping after a nice walk! Crate Trained: Rocky is crate trained. He eats sleeps and naps in his crate without complaint. As long as he is getting his physical and mental fulfillment Rocky is very content in his crate. Grooming: Rocky has been desensitized to grooming and behaves very well for baths blow dryers brushing nail trimmings and teeth and ear cleanings. Rocky is a heavy shedder. His foster home brushes him 3-4 times a week and bathes him every other week. He will require a forever home prepared to deal with shedding and brushing! Other Dogs: Rocky is a very polite and friendly dog. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. He gives and receives body language cues very well. Cats: Rocky has not been tested with cats. His foster home has seen him exhibit prey drive with other smaller animals. General Behavior: In public Rocky is neutral to his surroundings. He has not shown any signs of reactivity or aggression. If Rocky's physical and mental needs are not fulfilled he can become destructive. Rocky is a very affectionate dog. He absolutely loves to snuggle up with people.YouTube: https://youtu.be/hP2SzDi46OsJune 4, 2023, 12:20 am

Story
Sweetie Alpine (watch my video) was rescued from a distant shelter along with 3 other pups on 6/2/22. He is friendly cuddly active and playful. Alpine loved playing with the other pups at his foster home and in yard. Alpine is smart and super well trained. Update from his foster home: Alpine is a sweet and active boy. He always gets compliments on how well behaved and handsome he is wherever he goes! Alpine would love to go to an active forever home and one that would give him different and fun outlets for his energy and smarts! Training : Alpine knows basic obedience such as leash manners impulse control around doors and food sit down stay heel place and recall. He also knows a few cute tricks and his foster home has started doing AKC scent work with him he loves to use his nose! Drive Level: Alpine is a medium driven dog. He loves to engage with his handler for food or toys and loves learning new things but he is not over the top. Perfect for someone wanting to train a dog and maybe try some dog sports like dock diving flyball or agility! Activity Level: Alpine is a high energy dog. He requires multiple hours of running and playing daily to keep him happy and fit! Crate Trained: Alpine is crate trained. He eats sleeps and naps in his crate without complaint. As long as he is getting his physical and mental fulfillment Alpine is very content in his crate. Grooming: Alpine has been desensitized to grooming and behaves very well for baths blow dryers brushing nail trimmings and teeth and ear cleanings. Alpine is a medium shedder. His foster home brushes him twice a week and bathes him every other week. Other Dogs: Alpine is dog friendly. He is a very outgoing and energetic dog and is better matched with other dogs of his size and nature who won't mind his 'in your face' energy. Cats: Alpine has not been tested with cats. His foster home has seen him exhibit prey drive with other smaller animals. General Behavior: In public Alpine is neutral to his surroundings. He has not shown any signs of reactivity or aggression. He does not resource guard food or toys. Because of his breed makeup Alpine likes to alert his handlers to people walking up to the house or yard by barking and is easily recalled when his handler is made aware. If Alpine is not exercised and mentally stimulated enough daily he will become bored and destructive and mouthy. It's important that he goes to a forever home that will be able to keep up with his high energy and life long training.YouTube: https://youtu.be/hP2SzDi46OsJune 4, 2023, 12:20 am
