Story
Hello, my name is Aladdin! I'm a neutered male, 1-year-old, Malinois mix that currently weighs about 50lbs.  I'm an affectionate guy that also has of energy, I'm also super smart! I Already know 'sit' and 'down'; I'm fantastic at fetch and walk very well on leash. As a Malinois I will need a lot of exercise (both mental and physical) so I'm hoping for a family that has experience with working breeds and high energy dogs like me. I love making new two-legged and four-legged friends, but I have a rough and tumble playstyle. If you have a dog, I hope they play the same way I do! I'd love to meet him or her before I officially join your family. If you're looking for an adventure buddy, I could be your guy! For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Aladdin ID# A972453Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. Additional information about this animal is available as of August 10th, 2024. It will be provided to an interested party or rescue. Dog Day Out notes from last week: Today, I was so happy to get out of my kennel! I got to put on a collar and harness, and I got to go in a car!! I love the car! I wanted to help drive, but my new friends said I should eat cookies instead, so I looked out the window. I love going for walks! We walked a long way! I wanted to be in front, but my friends would stop, so I got to give them snuggles when they did that – I like snuggles more than cookies! We saw so many things! People and dogs and lots and lots of bikes! I don't worry about those things though, I have my friends! I almost tried to catch a squirrel, but it got away. That's okay; I gave more snuggles to my friends! Oh! And on the way back, I took a nap – I loved the quiet time. Three Words to Describe Me are affectionate – snuggly - and friendly. Notes from My Walker: Traviesa is such a delight! She pulls on the leash, but it seems like she just never got a chance to learn how to walk on a leash before. She did amazing on the busy trail – we saw bikes, walkers, and dogs, and she was non-reactive to almost everything. The small, barky dog got her attention, but he started talking first, and she displayed interest, with no reactive lunging or barking. She is not a cookie girl, but she LOVES to snuggle. We love it when dogs on the trail check in with their human friends, but Traviesa was at another level; she would stop and lean in for a hug before continuing the walk! She is a sweet, gentle, loving dog who deserves a home that will let her learn and give her the chance to be a fantastic companion dog.

Story
Beautiful Wanda and her siblings were on Monday 12/8/25 shelter PTS list. She is only 9 mos old and social friendly. Yet SASA is euthanizing many friendly and healthy young dogs weekly due to capacity issues. Shelter is over-loaded daily by irresponsible owners that dump their dogs. Worse now during Holiday month when many are away on vacations. So the poor innocent dogs have less time at this shelter. Her brother was adopted last minute. Wanda had no options left so we tagged her to rescue her. Volunteers and staff adore her. She is super friendly dog friendly and smart. Needs basic training. She has mix of two very intelligent athletic and devolted brave breeds. Ready to learn and be your BFF for life. Loves toys knows sit for treats and is playful. Will play with her mouth but soft. Great hiking and walking buddy. Will probably enjoy any fun or working you both may like. Smart dog. We will emergency board her to save her life while we search for an experienced foster home. More info. to come.December 12, 2025, 12:42 pm

Story
Meet Destiny! Destiny is a special girl who has come along way. She’s about one years old, spayed, vaccinated and micro chipped! Destiny is originally from the Stockton animal shelter where she was found alone in a field. When she was found nobody even knew she was a dog. She looked like a Small neglected hairless bear. Her mouth seemed to be broken and her teeth were sticking out, she had mange, ringworm you name it! Her foster mom rehabilitated her from top to bottom! Destiny could not even find a foster until her current foster mom who has had her from the beginning stepped up to help her! Destiny has now had two surgeries on her palate to repair the hole that was in her mouth. We have no idea exactly what happened but it seem to have either been a firework or something electrical in her mouth which caused her Deformed gums. Destiny currently has a small hole in her palate but is able to eat larger kibble/ground beef and chicken. She is a very energetic puppy with long arms but still is on the small side. She loves to play with dogs and she loves people. She is not very fond of the leash but who knows what she has been through. We are looking for a beautiful home for her that can give her everything she ever deserved. She would do great with puppy training classes. She likes to jump and say hi to you. She also has her tongue sticking out so she loves her kisses as well. But whatever she likes to do we let her because she has been through so much and now she can finally can be herself!! She is around 35 pounds right now and we don’t think she is going to grow anymore. Her breed is very hard to pinpoint but we were thinking she might be some type of Formosan mountain dog or terrier? Please share destiny and her story and let’s find her an amazing home! To meet destiny please fill out our adoption application and right now she’s being fostered in Salinas California. The last photo is of her when she was first found. https://form.jotform.com/212583059015149September 2, 2025, 9:02 am

Story
**About Mini:** Thank you for your interest in adopting Mini. Please know that Mini is an international rescue through Taiwan. When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, YVR, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process for many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Mini's Rescue Story Personality: Mini is absolutely the most perfect FMD (Formosan Mountain Dog) we have ever encountered. No word describes her better than "perfect." Mini was once tied up with a heavy chain outside a house. The house was empty—no one lived there. The owner had simply tied Mini and another dog there, often leaving them without food or water. Since both dogs were chained and unable to forage, they could only bark for help. It was these barks that a member of our rescue organization heard while passing by. The rescuer tried to find the owner but quickly realized the house was abandoned. Neighbors said the owner only came by occasionally. Because the dogs were chained on private property right by the door, the rescuers couldn't take them immediately, so they committed to bringing them food every day. One day, the rescuer saw Mini wandering outside alone. Unsure why she had been abandoned, Mini was just moving aimlessly, sniffing for food, and even approaching people for attention. When she saw the rescuer from a distance, Mini recognized her. She quickly ran over and immediately lay on the ground, rolling onto her belly to show affection. Knowing Mini had been deliberately abandoned, the rescuer took her home immediately. What makes Mini so incredible is how incredibly smart and friendly she is. She immediately learned to use pee pads indoors and was accurate every time. Her calm, non-confrontational, and incredibly optimistic personality means she gets along wonderfully with people (including children), cats, and other dogs! Mini's rescuer summarizes her by saying: "Goofy, great natured, and very easy to care for." This perfect personality makes her an ideal match for both first-time and experienced families. Mini spent her early life chained up and hungry. Now, she is ready to find her forever home—a home that can give her the warmth and love she has always deserved.
