I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereHello, I'm Asada! I'm an 11-month-old, 40 lb female Belgian Malinois mix. Aftre being hit by a car, I needed a leg amputation after being hit by a car, but now I'm fully recovered! I'm incredibly affectionate and love staying close to my humans, especially when I get gentle chin rubs. I'm a fan of my crate and can comfortably stay alone for up to 8 hours. I thrive in a quiet home with a yard, as loud noises and busy streets make me anxious. I need a patient adopter experienced with fearful dogs to help me feel safe and secure. I get along well with other calm, gentle dogs, but rough play overwhelms me. My ideal foster or forever home includes one confident, but gentle dog in an adult-only environment. Young children may not be suitable, but respectful teenagers are okay! Adopters may need to meet me more than once to get a good sense of my personality. If you have a peaceful home and a big heart, we could be the perfect match. My foster posts about me @MarsNMona on Instagram. Ready to meet me? Story
Say hello to Niko! He's had some changes in his young life, at six months, being given away by his owner to good samaritans in a Tractor Supply parking lot. He was brought to safety through their efforts to find options for him. In their quest they connected with a family willing to foster him until he finds his perfect match and that family had connections to one of our volunteers.  Niko recently had his humans send his saliva for a DNA test and we’re definitely giggling.  We thought he was likely a GSD and malinois mix. We were right on the Malinois at 55%, the Chihuahua at 17% wouldn't have occurred to us. With 10 breeds in his DNA, he's just adorable.  His fosters are shepherd savvy, and Niko's thriving in their care. We know he's cat-workable, dog-friendly, and a little shy meeting new people, but give him a few minutes and treats, he lights up. Niko was also a gem at his first vet appointment, getting caught up on vaccines, getting a health check-up, and starting on preventatives. While we were working on an appointment to get him neutered, he learned to sit down, recall, and relax in his new environment, including crating. Niko adores his fosters and the structure he's getting in their care after all the changes in his life. A treat and praise-motivated shepherd mix, he's a quick learner.  This 44-lb sweet boy also loves the snow, all his toys, and snuggling with his resident buddy. Prior to his early morning neuter appointment, NIko camped out at a relief foster located near the hospital overnight, displaying all that makes him a wonderful boy. Within a couple of hours at his relief foster home, he'd met all the resident dogs, started playing with the youngest shepherd, respecting the older ones, and reciprocating all the love from his temporary humans. He even took a long nap after his evening meal in his crate.  And settled right next to the pack for downtime in between more play sessions outside.  Niko rides nicely free in the car and crated too; he took a ride over to a Golden 1 bank to have his photo taken for one of our thank you's to Golden One for sponsoring Big Day of Giving. He adored the young girl at the next ATM machine who was equally smitten. Niko will be on the smaller size of a shepherd mix, what we love to call pocket sized. As with our puppies, please consider applying for Niko if you have experience raising shepherds or similar smart working breed dogs. They require physical and mental exercise, structure, training, and extensive environmental exposure to become neutral adult dogs.  ##2006769##

Story
Male Belgian Malinois, 1 year 2 months old. Neutered. He is intelligent and a quick learner. Ray can seem shy and timid. He doesn't trust new people, but once he figures out they're not dangerous to him, he's a really sweet guy. He is house-trained, sleeps well all night (we don't use a crate but he knows what it is). I would say Ray is a moderate energy level, good with small and large dogs. He is quick to make friends and play very gently on the playground. He knows "sit", "down", "come", "fetch" but needs a lot of additional work and training. Ray doesn't guard toys or food. I can say that he is a sensitive young adult who responds well to positive reinforcement training, especially when treats are involved. While he may show submissive tendencies, his potential shines with a little guidance and encouragement. It should be patient people, experienced dog owners who has a large breeds in the past. No cats, no children. Experienced dog owners who has a large breeds in the past.

Story
Shepherd Mix Age: < 1 yr old Male, Neutered > 30 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Roth came to the shelter as a stray with a serious issue with his pee-pee (paraphimosis). The shelter’s vet did emergency surgery, then called us to rescue him. Unfortunately, the first surgery was unsuccessful (scar tissue closure causing the inability to urinate) so our vet had to go in do another surgery. So far, it is all good, however, he may need another procedure as he gets bigger (if he gets bigger). Given his mix with Chihuahua, he main remain a medium-size dog. Otherwise, Roth is a sweet, happy-go-lucky puppy that is people and dog friendly. He walks on a leash. He will need some training on jumping on people, and a few other puppy manners. Roth needs a home with another playful dog(s), probably close to his size or larger. Potential adopters must own their home with a good size fenced-in backyard. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Roth, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

Story
German Shepherd Age: < 1 yr old Female, Spayed 40 lbs Adoption Fee: Donation (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Cheyanne was brought to the shelter as a very young, small, emaciated puppy with two broken legs (assumably from being hit by a car). Since as a German Shepherd, she had a lot of growing to do, the only viable option was to splint the legs and hope for the best. Fast forward 5 months and her front leg healed pretty well (which is good - front legs are more critical than hind legs for mobility. Unfortunately, we weren’t as lucky with her back leg. The severity of the fractures, impeded the needed bone growth, and the leg ended up shortened. There are ongoing discussions with the vet about whether to amputate that leg. Nobody’s Perfekt Dogs will cover the cost of the amputation, if that happens. Otherwise Cheyanne is a sweet dog that needs a lot of socialization with people. Shepherds are naturally wary of strangers, so continuing her peoples skills is important. She loves all the dogs in her foster home. We don’t put shepherds in homes with cats. A home with another well socialized dog around her size would be ideal. Please note for large breed dogs, we require that potential adopters own their home, with a securely fenced-in backyard. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Cheyanne, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com
