Meet Winnie, an 18-mo spayed German Shepherd × Rhodesian Ridgeback mix located in Waxahachie, Texas. Winnie is a beautiful, highly-intelligent, affectionate young dog who bonds deeply with her people and has strong natural guarding instincts. She knows basic commands (such as sit), is healthy, and has no bite history. In the right home, she would be a devoted companion and protector. Unfortunately, we live on acreage with livestock, and Winnie has a very strong prey drive. Despite our efforts, this environment is not safe for her or for the animals. She has also begun roaming, and the situation has become unsafe and urgent. We are extremely concerned for her well-being and are seeking immediate rescue placement, foster, or an experienced adopter in a non-livestock home. Winnie needs a home without chickens, goats, cats, or small animals, a secure fenced yard or leash-managed environment. She would likely thrive in a home that values her loyalty and energy.

Dune still needs to be neutered and receive his rabies vaccine. He is dog friendly and enjoys playing with other pups, unless a tennis ball is around then he is only interested in the ball. He is crate trained and potty trained. Dune also loves kids! He would be happy as part of your dog pack or as the only pup in the home. He would also be fine living in an apartment.
