Meet Chip! Chip is a bright, happy-go-lucky pup around 2–3 years old, and he’s ready to find his forever family! This friendly boy gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats, and he has also lived with small children in a previous foster home, where he did great. Chip is a smart cookie who already knows basic commands like sit, shake, and up. He’s kennel trained, making daily routines and downtime a breeze. Playtime is his favorite — whether it’s fetch in the backyard or zooming around on sunny days, Chip could play fetch for hours! But don’t let his playful side fool you — when it’s time to relax, Chip is more than happy to be a snuggly cuddlebug. On leash, he does well and just needs a little more practice to become the perfect walking companion. Sweet, handsome, fun-loving Blake is 2 years old and weighs 50 lbs. We think he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix. He is affectionate and loves to give kisses and cuddle with his people. He is friendly with every person he meets, but he can be a little picky about his dog friends. Blake is an excellent choice for someone wanting an only dog, but we think he would be ok in a home with smaller dogs. He loves to play fetch, and any old ball will do, but he hasn't quite mastered the part of bringing the ball back! Blake is very athletic and needs his daily exercise. He loves taking long walks. He is crate and potty trained. He won't be a good fit for apartment life. Blake will be a super loyal and loving companion. Meet Max! He is a 1 yr old neutered male German Pinscher/Doberman Pinscher that weighs 66lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/14 as an owner surrender. Reason given was he had too many animals, and Max was a big pup. He has been very well cared for, clean soft fur, and may be housetrained. He is an extremely handsome boy, and always has a smile on his face. Despite being left at the shelter, he has an upbeat, happy go lucky personality. And such a silly playful side too. He found a stuffed toy and he threw it up in the air and bounced around the shelter yard. He walks well on a leash and takes treats gently. On occasion he does get excited and will try to jump, yet he can be quickly redirected with the sit command. Very smart pup! He hopes he can find a loving family with a secured yard, take him for walks and enrichment, shower him with plenty of stuffed toys and be close and cuddly with his human companions inside on his own dog bed. Tho he had no reaction to other dogs barking at him, we do ask if there is another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. Come meet this wonderful boy!!

She was found as a stray with injuries to her legs and feet, but thanks to a wonderful foster family, she healed both physically and emotionally. During her time in foster care, she proved to be incredibly affectionate—she loves people, enjoys snuggles, and plays wonderfully with children.Now living at our facility, Summer continues to work on her manners. She’s doing great with her leash training, is learning not to jump when excited, and already knows commands like `sit` and `no.` She’s eager to please and very smart, which makes her a great candidate for continued training in a patient and loving home.Summer loves doing zoomies in the yard and spending time outdoors. Dune still needs to be neutered and receive his rabies vaccine. He is dog friendly and enjoys playing with other pups, unless a tennis ball is around then he is only interested in the ball. He is crate trained and potty trained. Dune also loves kids! He would be happy as part of your dog pack or as the only pup in the home. He would also be fine living in an apartment.
