Story
Kaiyu was a stray found on the street 5 years ago. He was found to have been shot with a BB gun and still has a couple of BB pellets in him that are not safe to remove. He is very easy to train as he is highly food motivated. He knows most commands and is crate and potty trained. He is always excited to meet people and does well with other dogs. He was found to have an ear polyp in his right ear that is not bothering him and was recently diagnosed with a salivary sialocele that has been managed with steroids. He is an amazing dog that also just likes to lounge around with you all day.

Story
Courtesy Listing – Lou Name: Lou Age: 7 months Sex: Neutered male Lou is a young, friendly pup looking for the right home through a courtesy listing. We are thinking he is probably a border collie/terrier mix. He is vaccinated, crate trained, and potty trained, and he does well with other dogs and is kid friendly. We are rehoming Lou due to his prey drive as he has killed a chicken and continues to focused on them, so he will need a home that can safely manage this behavior and does not have small livestock or free-roaming small animals. He currently has no medical concerns. ***Please note: Lou is not located at the shelter and is not under the shelter’s care. This is a courtesy post to help his owner find a suitable placement. All inquiries will be directed to the owner.*** Contact: Lauren laurenblack721@gmail.com If you’re interested in Lou and believe your home may be a good fit, please reach out directly to the owner using the contact information above.  January 21, 2026, 6:48 pm

Story
Dante is a dazzler! With his lush, shiny coat and expressive, bright eyes, he sparkles. He did great on a recent day trip, loading and unloading into the car easily. Being a lover boy, he gave plenty of kisses to start the journey. On a long walk in the country, he met a herd of cows. He studied them carefully before barking at one that came close to the fence. He also barked at some dogs on an adjacent trail. He could hardly contain his excitement with all the new sights and became a little overstimulated, but he was easy to redirect. He may not be a good fit for a home with small children. All in all, he's an adorable Muppet who will be an amazing companion for an experienced handler who can give him the structure he needs to be his best. He'll always be happy to join you on long walks on country roads. To make an appoint to meet our very handsome Dante, please go to yoloshelter.org/adopt. January 21, 2026, 6:48 pm

Story
Poki is a female Border Collie mix: five years old and spayed, healthy: all shots up to date and on a monthly heartworm/flea preventative. Poki has a lot of energy and high herding drive. She does not get along with other female dogs and small children. She is good with cats. She has tried to herd humans, jumping on them and nipping. She would be best as an only dog with a high energy family. She loves hiking. Poki is obedience trained and also does some basic agility and other tricks. She is really good at fetch and find it and knows sit, stay (not her best) lay down, spin, through, go under, go through, go over/on, jump, release and touch. She crates in the truck (interior) and for sleeping. She goes to the boarder when we are not home with no issues. We love Poki very much, but we have another special needs dog and elders we care for and she only gets limited attention daily. She needs an active family who can deal with her high energy and herding instincts.

Australian Cattle Dog Husky

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Not good with cats, House-trained, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Layla is a beautiful mixed breed: 45% Husky, 47% Australian Cattle Dog, and 100% sweetheart. She weighs about 50 lbs and has the kindest eyes and the biggest heart. She’s full of energy, loves being around people, and absolutely lives for walks, fetch, adventures, and belly rubs. Layla knows basic commands like sit, lay down, stay, and leave it — and she really listens when there's a treat involved! She’s incredibly smart, loyal, and eager to please. With her energy and love for the outdoors, she’d be perfect for someone active, outdoorsy, and ready for a fun-loving companion. I’m hoping to find someone who will love her deeply and help her thrive. Ideally, I’d love to stay in touch or get occasional updates — maybe even visit if that’s ever possible (but not required). A small rehoming fee will apply, and I’d love to see where she’ll be living just to make sure it’s the right fit.
