Story
Hi! I`m Freya and I am an energetic young dog who is looking for an active home that loves getting out of the house for hikes, jogs, walks and playing. I enjoy meeting other dogs but I can be rambunctious and pushy with my friends so I`ll need to meet any dogs in the home at the shelter to make sure we are a good fit. I have a good history with older kids and would love a home with teenagers who will play with me. I can`t wait to meet you!

Story
Finnagin, Border Collie mix, 1.5 yrs., 40 lbs. Finnagan is a little shy for just a second then is a friendly outgoing dog that was surrendered because his owner became ill and could no longer take care of him. He’s active and still acts like a puppy. Good with other dogs. We prefer a home with someone home most of the time and another young dog for him to play with. He’s always been with another dog. Story
Video https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8Z2ZfztKUHE Jazzy is a border collie mix and about 6 months old. She is so pretty and happy and friendly. Great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. Randomly goes for a swim in the pond. Affectionate but also independent. Currently about 30 lbs. Someone will be very lucky to bring her into their family. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection. Story
Meet Ogallala, but everyone calls her Olga! This sweet, beautiful girl is a Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix with a gentle and silly heart that will make you smile. When she came to Soul Dog in 2021, she was shy and fearful, but thanks to her long term foster family, she has made amazing progress.Olga has gone from hiding in her favorite corner to relaxing on the sofa with her foster pack, greeting her family at the door, and even asking for affection. One of her favorite pastimes now is shouting out the window at people and dogs passing by. She really loves letting her voice be heard! While she has gained confidence, Olga still has a few fears. Loud noises, sudden banging, or busy sounds like kids playing basketball can startle her. When she is unsure, she may bolt and then settle in a safe spot. With gentle guidance and patience, she is learning that the world can be safe and fun.Olga is looking for a kind, understanding person who can give her love, calm guidance, and the time she needs to feel confident in a new home. Because she is so comfortable in her foster home, a gradual transition to her forever family will help her adjust and thrive.Olga is a sweet, joyful girl who is ready to bring love, smiles, and laughter to her forever home. If you would like to meet her, submit an application at www.souldog.org. For questions, email adopt@souldog.org.

Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. Story
Margaret is a smart, 12 week old pup, with a surprisingly chill vibe for her age. Most of the time she’s pretty laid-back for a puppy, happy to hang out and observe the world around her. But when playtime starts… she flips the switch and gets very serious about her fun. Toys, zoomies, and wrestling matches are all fair game. 🤣 She’s a social butterfly and gets along great with just about everyone — dogs, cats, and even ferrets. Margaret is also a rockstar in the car and rides like a pro, making her an easy adventure buddy. Like most puppies, she’s still learning the ropes. She can be a little vocal about her feelings in the crate, but she’s already improving a ton. Her potty training is also coming along really well for her age. Overall, Margaret is an easygoing, friendly pup with just the right amount of playful puppy energy. She’d make a fantastic addition to a home looking for a smart, social, and very cute little sidekick. 🐾 Margaret is in foster in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/margaret You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Huck, Australian Shepherd/Heeler, 4 yrs., 47 lbs. Huck is a friendly and calmer dog. He’s confused and depressed because he is now sitting in a shelter since his owner gave him up after someone new moved into the home and brought their dog into Huck’s home. Huck didn’t get along with the new dog, so his owner surrendered him to a shelter. He is a great dog and just wants a home where he will be loved and cared about. Courtesy listing. Story
Poppy, Kelpie mix, 1 yr., 14 lbs. Poppy! This little girl is full of punk and excitement! Poppy is a wiggle button type of girl. She loves playing with humans and other dogs. She gets along great with big dogs (played religiously with 2 100lbs dogs) although small in size, she thinks she too is a big 100lb dog!! She was allowed on any furniture or bed. I allowed her to sleep with me and the big dogs every night. She knows "let's go outside" and will run for the door. She likes toys and will find one to chew or play with it. She will come sit on your lap when you call her. She is "cautious " of strangers and will bark...she's a dog. Poppy had a big yard to run and play freely so she didn't go on individual walks on the leash. If she is frightened, she may "tinkle". She has shared space with a cat. She can live with other pets. Introduction should be gradual. We would recommend a family with another dog for her to be with. She eats regular dog food. Her habit with food is to grab some in her mouth, go somewhere else, spit it out and eat the kernels one by one. She's such a "ham" and gets so excited she was given a nickname of "crackhead"...lol..she will actually respond if called that. Due to a medical condition the owner decided not be selfish and to give her up so she can have a life with someone that can give her more. Courtesy listing. Call Cindy 970-353-1385
