Story
This sweetest of fellows is now named Oreo, and it's still so hard to believe that he was mere moments away from losing his life at an overcrowded shelter before I took him in. Since then, I've grown to love him and his endearing personality more and more each day. Nothing would make me happier than to simply keep him, but then I wouldn't be able to save another pup in desperate need. Oreo loves every person he meets, and even more so if you let him weave between your legs. His favorite things to do are go for walks and explore, relax in a sunny patch of grass, play fetch, and snuggle up next to his people. He's not an overly-cuddly dog, but he is very affectionate and loves to give kisses and be next to you in the home. He's good with other dogs - and lives with 2 others currently - but must be introduced properly and preferably only live with females. He'd most likely be good with children, as he's never shown any resource guarding or human aggression. Oreo is mostly blind in his left eye (the reason it appears blue) which I can only assume occurred after an untreated injury earlier in his life, but this doesn't slow him down or effect him in the slightest (evaluated by vet)! Plays fetch very well! He hates being crated, but doesn't need to be when left alone. We're working on his leash manners. He's very eager to please and listens well. Oreo LOVES to explore and see the world, and if he gets out the door or away from you on leash, you'll have a tough time getting him back. I'll discuss strategies to prevent him escaping and ways to lure him back with all potential adopters. He is very scared of thunderstorms, but is not loud or destructive - just trembles excessively and tries to hide. Oreo will need a home with a fenced backyard and someone able and willing to take him for a walk daily. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2rC2sYHJ3E  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioFfLCfIavI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fw2z6pjK1ZI Age:  7years  Weight:  65 lbs   Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, and heartworm negative   Temperament: Cautious meeting new people good with dogs and older respectful kids. Story
Marshall is a gorgeous fluffy white and black dog. He's friendly to all and has done fine with other dogs. He has an independent play style (live and let live.) He's a big dog at 73 lbs but still considers himself a lap dog. He's a good medium energy dog and playful. He loves chasing a ball and running around doing zoomies. Marshall would love to have a yard to run around in. Once he gets his energy out, he plops down and if a lap is available that's where he'll be. He's very sweet and gentle. He knows his sit command and he's calm, even-tempered , affectionate and treat motivated which makes him highly trainable. Marshall needs a home with people who understand he enjoys play time and cuddle time in equal measure. (He's a big believer in a balanced life style.) Marshall combines good looks and a loving personality all in one. He'll make a fantastic companion, a hiking, walking running , adventure buddy, followed by some cuddle time in your lap. What's not to love? Age: 3 years      Weight: 73 lb    Temperament: Good with dogs and  older sturdy kids as he needs to learn not to jump up,  Training: Knows commands:  sit.  Housetraining unknown currently in a shelter.   Vetting: neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative    For questions, please email:   nlherna@emory.edu  &#226&#128&#139  To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.  May 3, 2024, 12:54 pm

Story
Sweet loving dog needs a forever home! We can’t keep her because we don’t have the time for her anymore and she barks a lot which wakes up our new baby. She also probably needs a home where she’s the only dog. She gets along with her sister most of the time, but I think she’d be happier in a home where she gets all of the attention. She’s the sweetest little cuddler ever. And she always greets us at the door with as many toys as she can fit in her mouth. She will be missed.

Story
My two dogs had puppies before I could get them neutered / spayed so I was blessed with 9 puppies. I only have 3 left for adoption. Moo Moo (fluffy puppy), Panda (the one with one eye that’s black), and Eye patch (the one who has a little spot on one eye). If you’re looking to adopt more then one, you must get them neutered / spayed immediately so they don’t inbreed. It’s super dangerous for puppy’s to be inbreeds.

Story
Morgan is a 1 year old, 30 lb mixed breed cutie. She came to us from animal control on the day she was supposed to be euthanized. She is a shy girl but oh so sweet. Morgan is very food motivated and follows her foster mom around the house. Food has really helped her bond and trust. She does well with both cats and dogs, and she really looks to other dogs for guidance. She has been with dogs, small to large and does well with all of them. She also loves to play with other dogs. She is truly a great sized, sweet girl. Due to Morgan's past, the trainer we worked with believes she would do best in a quiet home with a few other dogs and no children. She does best in a structured environment because it makes her feel most secure. To adopt this sweet girl, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $150, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, and heartworm testing.

Story
I got Pepper from the Fulton County animal shelter when she was barely six weeks old in July of 2022, making her almost two years old. She has been with our family for a while now. The kids love her, and I adore her, but between working and, we all don’t have the time to give her the love and attention she needs. She is super sweet and energetic, but she loves to be close to all of the members of the family. she is free, energetic, loving, enjoys treats, and likes to lounge around. We adore her, and I would like to find her home with someone who loves her. If you have a fenced-in backyard even better because she loves to run she loves to run. She knows some commands, like sit down high five, give me paw, and stay. She also understands boundaries and if you tell her, no she won’t do something. She also understands and was beginning to learn how to be patient when eating. She has this about 75% mastered and will “eat” when told.

Story
Man&#197&#141 is a little pistol of a pup.  He was surrendered to a Good Samaritan who already has too many surrendered dogs. She would love for him to find a home that has time to work on puppy training and socialization. Man&#197&#141 is located in Tignall GA where there is no formal animal control facility and very little help for homeless pets. Please be willing to meet in the Athens or Madison, GA area -- which is about halfway between here and their foster (who cares for many and can't be too far from home base). Age: 5 months (as of 9/1/23) Weight: 15 lbs (as of 9/1/23) Training:  crate-trained.   Vetting: Neuter will be part of adoption agreement, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm testing at 6 months.  Email for questions: messparker@gmail.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. intelligent, working dog Meet almost 1 y/o, 45 lb Milo! He’s an energetic, confident pup with a heart of gold! He's a natural-born leader and loves to be on the go. Milo's always eager to learn and work, which makes him a perfect fit for farm, working, or active households. He's not one to mess around - Milo's all about pleasing his human and knowing what's expected of him. He's also a social butterfly, having lived with small and large dogs and even feline friends (although he can get a bit frisky sometimes). While he's sure to be a hit with school-aged kids, his boundless energy might be a bit much for little ones. Whatever adventure comes his way, Milo is ready to take on the world with a wagging tail and a smile!
