Molly is a very sweet girl. She was found as a stray. She is calm and quiet, she loves people and will bond easily. She is a flight risk due to being on the run for so long, so she needs a fenced yard and a loving home to call her own.

Story
Lark is the biggest goofball who deserves the best home! This sweet one-year-old border collie LOVES everybody! He is fantastic with other dogs and he’s been around cat, but he does like to hear them so he does need a cat who is dog savvy and knows how to train a dog to be a little bit more polite. Once again, he really just wants to be everybody’s friend and doesn’t always understand that playtime can be taken less seriously. He’s good with kids too, but he is a jumper and a puller- he’s just so excited to get where he wants to go and to be in the next person’s arms that he does not think before he leaps. Lark seems to be the definition of an ADHD dog. He’s super smart, as you can expect from a border collie, but he has no attention span. He will come when you call, but then catch an interesting sentence midway to you and will be line over to the nearest bush. Even mid play with another dog if something else catches his attention, he’s completely forgotten the other dog that he was playing with. It’s both frustrating and endearing! Well, we love this personality quirk of him it does mean that there are some considerations to take in regards to his safety. We are requiring a fenced in yard for him. And fair warning, if you have a pool or a pond, he will take a dip! He is crate trained and house trained, and has pretty good manners inside, but it was clear when we first got him that he has not spent a lot of time in the house before. He was scared of all new surfaces in the house and did not know how to get up on the couch. While is a certified couch potato now, he still does not know how to use stairs- his foster mom is on a one level so he’s never really needed to encounter stairs, but when he does… you are the one carrying his 50 pound butt up and down them. We think what time he can totally acclimate to using stairs. Lark is very active, but is also happy to wait for you if you have a work day. Once you are home though he wants to be doing something! He’s an excellent car rider and is happy hanging out with you at home or going hiking. Be warned though when you’re hanging out at home if you are on the couch, he would like to be petted! All the time. He’s still learning boundaries and being taught “no” and “wait” since he can be pushy with his love. We have had Lark for a few months now. He came to us with two other dogs who were found on the road in a rural area back before the second snowstorm this year. Lark was limping pretty badly when we first got him, and x-ray showed an old break in both his radius ulna of his right front leg AND an old break on his left elbow. Both brakes were already starting to heal and calcify, but with him unable to stay off of both front legs and neither break being clean, the natural healing process took quite a while. His legs have been determined as “good as they’re gonna get”, and he has quite literally never cared. From the day we got him he was active, playful, trying to jump in and out of cars, and run around to the yard despite his legs. Unfortunately, with both brakes, he is never going to walk 100% normally and we would not recommend him as a working dog or as a marathon runner. Not that he cares, and honestly, he is enjoying his joint supplements as an additional treat. Story
Meet Carson Dukes. His eyes (one blue, one brown) are unique and strikingly gorgeous, one myth even says that dogs with two different color eyes can view heaven and earth at the same time. Carson is an adult Border Collie mix who has been with us since he was just a pup. Like some of our others he can be a bit shy and timid around new people so he would benefit from an adopter who is willing to spend some time with him at our kennel. Once he figures out who will be his friend he is very loving. Oh, and he is a bit of an escape artist, six feet or chain link does not hold a challenge for him. He never leaves us; he just doesn’t like to be fenced. Carson would be a great indoor companion with supervised outdoor exercise.  Carson recently spent some time in a foster home. He adjusted well to being a house dog, is crate trained, and almost housebroken. He got along with the other dogs, really enjoyed stretching his long legs running and playing in the yard, and was happily contained with the 8ft privacy fence. His foster family describes him as, "lovable, sweet, playful, and quirky in the most endearing way."  Carson's adoption fee includes neuter, microchip, current vaccinations, and up to date heartworm/flea/tick prevention.
