Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Capitan is the sweetest little boy.  Well not super little, he is probably around 25-30 pounds now and will most likely get a little bigger.  We are unsure of his breed, he looks like he has border collie in him but probably also some terrier, maybe lab, his coloring suggests dalmatian.  He is amazing with other dogs and kids, loves to snuggle.  We are not sure how he would be with cats in his home but at our events he doesn't even seem to notice them so he probably won't care.  He is working on potty training but is crate trained and does pretty well on a leash.  He loves the water and mud so heads up.  One thing you need to know...he is deaf, and mostly blind, he lost one eye (congenital issue and it was removed), the other eye is not great either.  We think he can see shadows because he navigates his surroundings just fine, even when he is in a new place.  He would benefit from someone who has experience with a deaf and blind dog as training is difficult since he can't hear.  But he is so easy going he would be fine as long as his people do their research and learn with him.  Otherwise he is healthy, he is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400 To adopt Capitan, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 23, 2025, 10:48 am

Story
Meet Prancer — a strikingly handsome Australian Shepherd mix with a personality as charming as his name. At about 3 years old and 30 pounds, he’s the perfect medium-sized companion for both adventures and cozy nights at home. Prancer came to us from a shelter in Kentucky, where the staff couldn’t help but smile at his adorable prancing walk — and the name just stuck! True to his playful spirit, Prancer loves romping around with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion to share his fun. This sweet boy is as affectionate as he is active. He adores being with his people and will happily soak up all the love and attention you’re willing to give. Prancer is an outdoor enthusiast who would be overjoyed to have a yard to explore or a family who enjoys walks, hikes, and everyday adventures. The best part? Prancer is potty trained and has good house manners, making him an easy and wonderful addition to the right home. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving best friend, Prancer may be your perfect match   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Story
Phoebe is an Aussie Shepherd mix born around 12/20 who radiates a sweet, gentle energy. While she is still a tiny pup discovering her own personality, she is exceptionally polite, often choosing to approach people with a steady, graceful pace. She is a bright and curious soul, always eager to investigate the world around her, yet she remains remarkably focused as she learns something new every day. Phoebe is a spirited playmate who loves a good wrestling match with her littermates, but she is just as quick to settle into a peaceful cuddle at your feet once the fun is over. Already well-behaved enough to sleep through the night, Phoebe’s blend of an inquisitive mind and a quiet, observant charm makes her a truly delightful companion in the making. She will need a family who is home often to help her grow and become a wonderful adult pup! Story
Hudson is a Australian Shepherd mix boy born around December 20 who carries a sweet, gentle presence and a growing love for his time spent outside. He is a spirited playmate who thrives on wrestling matches with his littermates, yet he possesses a calm focus that helps him learn new things every single day. Remarkably well-behaved for such a young age, Hudson already sleeps through the night and loves to end his outdoor adventures by settling in for a long cuddle.
