Story
Hi there! I’m Marigold - your future festive sidekick and resident border collie mix, jingling in at about 50 pounds of fluffy cheer. I’m around 1–2 years old, and I just arrived up from Kentucky, where a kind family cared for me since January 2025. But oh boy, am I excited to be here! It’s my very first time having a real indoor bed, and let me tell you… it’s WAY cozier than curling up on a chilly porch during those frosty winter nights.   I’m sharing my foster home with three teeny beagle pups. They’re cute as candy canes, but they bounce around like stovetop popcorn kernels. Good thing I’m a gentle, patient big sis. When the puppy blizzard starts swirling too wild, I politely use my “indoor voice” to remind them to simmer down like cocoa on low heat.   Don’t get me wrong, I’m responsible, but I’m also full of sparkle! I adore zooming around the yard playing chase and wrestling, and I walk beautifully on a leash. Exploring outside is one of my favorite things, and I’d make a fantastic hiking partner for someone who loves adventure as much as I do. A fenced in yard is going to be the best thing for me in my my forever home!   I’ve never tried agility, but with my quick paws, graceful moves, and wicked smarts, I bet I’d be a natural. Just picture me prancing through jumps and tunnels like one of Santa’s reindeer-in-training!   I’m the kind of companion who brings a peaceful warmth wherever I go. I’m gentle, quiet, and always paying attention, keeping our home safe without ever making a fuss - the kind of dog Santa would trust to guard the workshop. I won’t bark your ears off, I save my voice for moments that matter. I’m fully crate trained, potty trained, and ready to slip right into a nice family routine. I dream of spending December nights tucked against you on the couch, sharing a blanket, a movie, and the feeling of finally being home for the holidays.   If you think we’re meant to jingle all the way together, submit an application and come meet me. I already asked Santa for one thing this year: a forever family to call my own. Maybe it’s you and my Christmas wish comes true!   The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Remmy – The Splash King in Search of His People! Available for Foster or Adoption in Illinois Hi, world! I'm Remmy, short for Romulus... yeah, I know, it’s a mouthful! I ended up in the Bakersfield shelter where space was tight. The staff there loved me so much they kept moving me around to keep me safe. But time was running out. That’s when Angel Dog Alliance stepped in and gave me a second chance. Now? I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family! I’m a 1-year-old Border Collie/Shepherd mix, about 60 lbs of pure joy, and I’m neutered, vaccinated, and ready to roll. I’ve got big puppy energy! I love to run, play, and splash like crazy in the kiddie pool (you’ve been warned). My favorite thing? Making a big entrance with a splash and hopping around with my toys. Zoomies are my love language. I’m super friendly with people and haven’t met a stranger I didn’t like. I’d be happiest in a home with another doggy friend to wrestle and play with. I know how to sit, I can shake paw, and I walk well on a leash, even though I zig-zag because everything is just so interesting. I’m great with kids, especially older ones who won’t mind my enthusiasm. I might knock over tiny toddlers during a zoomie, so I’d do best with kids 5 and up. Cats? I haven’t met any yet, so that’s still a mystery. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, loving adventure buddy who’s down to cuddle after playtime, I’m your guy. Let’s make a splash together.
