Maverick is 2 year old, and weighs 39 lbs. He is very energetic. He is a sweet boy who loves to play and run. He doesn’t like to be in a kennel, but cannot be trusted alone in the house yet, as he likes to chew, like puppies do. He has had herding tendencies with small children, and will herd if you run. He would be a good companion dog to play with in the yard until he can be trained to walk properly on a leash. He is an escape artist when it comes to harnesses and collars while on leash. Bruno is an energetic boy. He likes to jump over baby gates and might be a good candidate for agility. He’s pretty smart. Bruno would do well in a home with no other dogs, cats, or kids. He knows sit, shake, and down. He chooses to sleep on the second shelf of our laundry room wire rack. This is where we keep extra bedding. He likes his people but he is cautious at first. He doesn’t like having things taken away so we trade for something he likes more. We feed him in his room by himself. He would rather eat alone. He has not shown any desire to herd, but will chase birds when he sees one. Not sure about other small animals, but it’s safe to assume he quite possibly would. He seeks out attention when he wants it and we don’t fuss with him unless he does. When he doesn’t want to go in his room, he will sit down strike. I offer him treats on the way to his room and he will usually follow me in. He’s got some quirks, but he’s a great dog. Bruno takes a little while to get to know someone. He must be introduced to the same person several times from a distance. Once he gets to know them, he behaves well. We walk him every day in our semi-rural area, where there are very few cars and not a lot of people. He’s not the city type. He will sometimes bolt for a small animal when he sees one with little warning. He would rather not be hugged or kissed, but enjoys petting while he sits at your feet. He is very cautious when you take off his harness. He does a play bow when we put it on. He likes to sleep on the second shelf of my laundry room rack. I put blankets on it to make him comfortable. She is a little sensitive to her surroundings, so be patient with her. Dixie's safe place is her crate. She would do best in a home with no young children, in a quieter neighborhood and if with another pet, a more submissive dog. Her babies have found their forever family and now it is her turn!! Her ideal home would have kids, toys, a comfy bed, a yard to play in and laps to lay on. Betty is crate trained and potty trained. She loves belly rubs, ear scratches, and sharing the couch. She gets along with other dogs in her foster home and will be good with respectful children. Betty has completed treatment for being heartworm positive and is now ready to be spayed (at the cost of the rescue) and find her forever family! Betty has her “paws crossed” that you might be her forever home. Gator is a fan of sunset picnics 🌅 She is a dream to walk, you wouldn't know that she is deaf, because she pays close attention to the human that is walking her. Her eye contact while walking is always rewarded so that now it's a habit for her to stay close and pay attention to you. When she walks with her doggie foster siblings, she likes to hang closer to them and sniff all the spots they help her find. Gator is neutral when seeing another dog on a walk, and she is sweetly happy when she sees people. When she sees someone she'd like to meet, she will sit, wag her tail, and maybe give an excited whine as if to say "please can I meet you?" Gator is a 5.5 month old, female, DEAF cattledog. She knows a ton of hand signals already, and her foster mom can give you all the tools and more to communicate with her. Zelda, is loving this fall-ish weather that is showing itself in the Midwest right now! Zelda is approximately 1 yr old cattle dog mix (Embark DNA test pending). In Zelda's brief 1 yr of life she has moved through 6 homes. She is high energy and needs to go to an active household that will give her structure and rules. She does well with other dogs, but we would not recommend her going into a home with young children. Zelda has been learning all the things in her foster home but she is ready for her final destination. Things we know about Zelda: 1. She is high energy and is ready for any adventure! She is THE BEST adventure buddy. 2. Although she currently lives with another female dog, she would prefer not too live with another female dog. Male dogs only please. 3. LOVES food and easy to train 4. Zelda at times will resource guard high value objects, like bones and chew toys, but she does wonderful at trading items with you 5. Crate trained 6. Bell trained to tell you she needs to go outside. 7. Zelda is very much an adolescent and will continue to need structure and routine in her future house.
