Meet Milo!This handsome Border Collie mix went from neglect survivor to professional treat-catcher extraordinaire. Milo was living with dogs, cats, and a chicken in rough conditions, but is now living the good life — mastering “sit,” “shake,” and “snag a treat midair” like a champ. He’s super friendly, good with other dogs, kids, cats and always ready to show off his skills (especially if snacks are involved). Basically, Milo’s the goodest boy with Olympic-level snack reflexes.Milo had to have surgery on his knee and is recovering nicely in a foster home. There, he has proven that he is house-trained and extremely well-mannered. Murphy is about 16 weeks old and 23 lbs. We really have no idea on breed mix, but would guess Border Collie/Terrier mix. The mom was about 30 lbs full grown, but no idea on dad. The exact adult size is unknown since the father isn’t known, and breed is an educated guess based on appearance. Murphy is a sweet lovable oaf and a quick learner. He is very treat-motivated. Murphy loves following his people around and playing with the dogs in his foster home. He’s a playful boy, but also a bit of shadow. Murphy enjoys a good cuddle session on the couch. He does well with kids. Murphy is working on his house and crate training and doing a great job. Because he is a young puppy, his adopter must be home for a good portion of the day to continue his training. Murphy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and will need to be neutered at 6 months. Adoption fee: $400, plus a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit. Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Snuggles fetch and food!  What do these things have in common?  Ranger!  These just happen to be his most favorite things!  If you too love puppy snuggles then he’s the guy for you.   After a seemingly never ending game of fetch, Ranger will happily settle down and chill with a chew bone or even better a nap snuggled up next to his favorite person.   Food is up next on his list of faves, which makes him an ideal candidate for training! He loves to learn and picks up new skills so quickly.  All he needs is a new family to continue his education. It’s hard to believe this adorable guy was taken to a shelter in SW VA after being hit by a car and no one claimed him.  After being cleared by a vet he was able to be transferred to Mutts for a chance at a better life!  It’s taken some time for us to really get to know him but after spending quality time in not one, but two foster homes (he’s so popular two foster families are sharing his time!), we’ve discovered what an amazing boy Ranger is! To note, Ranger can be uncomfortable and reactive to some dogs while on leash.  We feel with the right fear free training, time and patience, this can be managed and improved.  Ranger has had some good play sessions with female dogs and was able to coexist in a foster home with calm, female dogs.  At this time it is best for Ranger to live in a single family home with a fenced yard where his interactions around other dogs can be managed.  He is able to go for walks with a plan and lots of treats for distractions.  Trust us when we say this love bug will be worth all the extra effort! My name is Ray, short for 'Radar.'  That is because, you got it, my magnificent, perky ears!  I don't miss a thing!  Especially when I hear the sound of a hand reaching into a bag of my doggie treats.  I love running and playing with my foster sister so I would make a great companion pet. I also love my daily walks. I am working on gaining confidence when I'm out on walks and improving daily.  I do check the boxes for housetrained, dog friendly, kid friendly, all around people friendly and SWEETNESS.  Did I mention I sleep through the night!
