www.TheLastResortRescue.com PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THIS PET THE FIRST STEP IS TO FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION AVAILABLE AT THELASTRESORTRESCUE.COM. If you have a question or inquiry please email us at tlrapplications@gmail.com   Fiona, our beautiful Fiona, found herself being dumped at the kill shelter by her previous owner while she was IN ACTIVE LABOR with puppies. Just a year old herself at the time, she was just terrified and starting having puppies on the shelter floor. We needed to act quickly! Fast Fiona had 8 pups, 7 survived. Fiona was the BEST momma to all those giant puppies, even though she was just a baby herself. She has raised all her pups and has been in foster, decompressing from her previous life! She is such an amazing dog! She bonds quickly and deeply to her person, she's a Velcro dog, she just wants to be where you are. She likes other dogs, but doesn't necessarily require another dog. She is good with people, kids, other animals. However she was one of those ' kids having kids' so she still very puppy like herself.  She is housebroken and very well behaved!  She is Very attached to her foster family, and she is a deeply emotional dog. She is one in a million! We are looking for that one in a million human that will truly bond with her and be hers forever!  If you think that person is you, fill out the application today! We would love to speak to you and arrange a meet and greet with Fiona! She deserved to find her true ' Happily Ever After ' September 15, 2024, 12:12 am

Hi. My name is Sheldon. I'm a gorgeous 1 year old Border Collie mix who was rescued at the 11th hour from a high kill shelter in Louisiana. I'm a shy boy who takes a bit to warm up to people, but don't let that scare you. I promise I'm worth the effort. If you'd like to meet me once I get here, please fill out an application at www.bigdsbigdogrehab.com.

Story
Friendly Finn is a lucky dog.  You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive.  He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years.  TRUTH!   How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter.   Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown.  He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car.  He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding.  Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park.  We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter.  If you are interested in Fostering or Adopting Finn please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.September 18, 2024, 12:50 pm

Story
This beautiful young 4-month-old pup is called Roxy and she will rock your world with all the wonderful dog manners and beautiful personality that you could want in a dog. We think she is a smooth coat Border collie mix and is beautifully created with the most outstanding ears that captures all the attention when you look her way.  At approximately 4 months of age, she weighs 20 lb and is a delightful foster guest at the current home that is caring for her. She loves the young children there in the home and they love her. She's great with the cat, she's great with the dog, and honestly there is not a strang person that Roxy ever shies away from.  She is just about completely housebroken in literally 5 days. She's one of those rare, young dogs that makes adopting a puppy a breeze. She is eternally happy all the time and eager to go and do whatever you want to do.  We think she is going to reach an ultimate adult weight of about 40 to 45 lb. She's lovely in every way and will make a great first time dog to adopt or a second dog in the home. To say that she's a breeze to train is an understatement. Act quickly because this Roxy girl will be discovered by many. Contact Critter Cavalry rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comSeptember 18, 2024, 12:50 pm

Story
Meet Oreo, a vibrant 2 years old beauty that we think is a mixture of Border Collie and Australian Shepherd.   This pretty girl is the perfect 50 pounds in size and weight and she and her 4 puppies were rescued from a horrible backyard situation where multiple dogs and puppies were existing (can't really call it living) without much human interaction or care.  She came to us with a very distrusting heart.   Her foster mom set out to change all of that and daily is teaching her that people can be fun and life can be good.  She has a large outdoor play area but really enjoys spending time in the house with her foster human mom. When she wants to go out, she paces in front of the door and signals to go outside.  She has never had an accident in the house. She very quickly learned the command 'sit' and is now working on 'down' and other commands.   It is obvious she has the intelligence of both the herding breeds and is  showing how very smart she is daily.  Oreo loves to be brushed and it is the quickest way to her heart. Get out a brush and groom her and you are ALL IN!  She is getting used to her harness and is now able to go for a leash walk several times a day.  She has a way to go with the leash skills but is getting better every day.  She has become very loyal and affectionate with her foster mom, but is still wary of new strangers. She is absolutely fine with the other dogs in her foster home. Oreo's hurdle is learning that men are OK and she will get there with patience from her people.  Apparently something in her past has made her very wary of men and she does not warm up easily just yet.   We have only had her in our care for 2 weeks and so time is not on our side just yet.  Her foster dad is determined to change that and is very kindly working with her and progress is happening.  - Oreo is really a fabulous girl who truly wants to love and be loved, she just needs the right person who is willing to work to bring out the best in her and to trust. Once she loves you, she loves you 1000%.   If you are interested in helping Oreo WIN AT LIFE, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask for an adoption form. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comSeptember 18, 2024, 12:50 pm

Pare' was born on April 10, 2022. He is a fluffly attention hog, he'll look for a cuddle then he's off like a dart bouncing off walls. He is very active, loves his belly rubs and all the attention he can get. Pare' will do best in a home with another dog to help him acclimate. If you are interested in Pare', please include your phone number and we will call with more information on Pare' and our adoption process. September 9, 2024, 1:51 pm
