Hi everyone! My name is Annabelle! I am a 5 year old Border Collie mix weighing in at about 40 pounds. I am great with kids and people of all ages really. I may be shy at first but I warm up pretty quickly. I get along with other dogs as long as they respect my space at first until we get to know each other then I'm happy to play and cuddle with them too. I don't mind cats, I let them do their own thing. I enjoy to relax on the couch hanging out with my people and I equally love going on long walks and run around. I sometimes get really excited when I want to go outside and I'll put on a show and dance for you and bark sometimes but not too loud. I do well on leashes, I don't pull much. I am house trained. I will willingly go in my crate when told to but it isn't necessarily my favorite place. Please leave a comfy blanket and toys in there for me. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter. Pretty is a pure bred shorthaired border collie, 2 years old. She is strong, gentle, affectionate. She desires to be obedient, listens and learns well, but had not been properly trained and may have some habits in need of correction. She has a strong a strong herding instinct, so she could make a good working farm dog. She is bold, but afraid of loud sudden noises such a thunder, fireworks, and gun shots, from which she seeks shelter or barks with concern at the sky. She would be a wonderful companion or family pet regardless. She has lived outside full time. She gets along well with our four boys, ages 9–15, as well neighboring kids and adults. She has no fear of strangers and is friendly with everyone. Ideally, a new home would offer lots of outdoor time and space like she is accustomed to. A family that has breed experience. She could live indoors with outside time, but may not be compatible with smaller pets because of her strong prey drive, and will need to be house trained. Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. Are you ready to hit the jackpot? KENO is a stunning mixed breed girl looking for a home. Keno isn't just a pretty face, this girl is SMART. Someone has done a considerable amount of training with her. She was an owner surrender at a rural shelter. Keno appears to be a herding breed type mix, probably some border collie and/or some Australian Shepherd and who knows what else? She's about 2 years old and fully grown at 38 pounds, a nice mid-sized dog. Keno (her actual name) has excellent recall, knows sit and is well trained in the proper way to play fetch, bringing back the ball and laying down in front of you waiting for the next toss or command. She has lovely leash manners, too. Keno is active and athletic and needs a home with an adopter who will insure she gets plenty of physical and mental exercise. Keno would be a great partner for a runner and would thrive in agility training. She's great with similar-sized dogs but not so good with small dogs. Keno loves toys and fetch and is best suited to a home with a physically fenced yard. She has a herding breed personality and would not be a good choice for a first time adopter or a home with small children. Hello! This is my sweet PJ. I’ve had her since she was 6 weeks old. She is about 4 years old and as sweet as can be. Sadly I need to rehome her as we had to downsize when we moved here. I feel so bad that I don’t more room for her and I know it’s not fair. She can be very nervous to new people but once she trusts you she loves you. She is kennel trained and potty trained. She is up to date on vaccines and spayed. She weighs 27 pounds. She has been boarded through pet smart many times and does wonderful. They absolutely love her there. She is wonderful with kids but can be very hyper. She needs room to run for sure. I have a harness, leash, XL kennel and kennel cover that will come with her.

Enzo was found in a shelter as a dump. He’s a very sweet boy that will do good as a solo dog because he likes being pet almost 24/7. He is eager for pets and will sit cutely on your feet so he can get pets. He is currently a foster dog of my own free will as his previous owners did not have time. Enzo thrives outside. He loves to lay on the grass and chew on a bone. This sweet boy really would love to find someone that loves him as much as he will love them.
