Story
Looks like: Boxer, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever Mix Male, 8 years old (estimated), 71 pounds Meet the dog with the world's biggest heart! Hank has tons of love to share in the form of cuddles, snuggles, and adoration for his family. Hank refuses to pick favorites-in fact, he's a fan of yours already! He has excellent manners-no jumping up when saying hello, never begging, and asking permission before getting onto a bed or couch. Hank would be happiest in a house where folks have deep reserves of affection ready to share with him. This energetic boy will need people who welcome a dog with spirit, strength, and passions: car rides, long walks, hikes, and fetch (only the best game in the world). He has shown some dog reactivity while on leash, but with reminders and training he's already showing signs of improvement. He has successfully lived with cats in the past, but would require a gradual introduction with any new kitty friends. He admits that his natural inclination is to chase cats (squirrels are also kind of irresistible). Hank sometimes protects his resources when he settles into a home. He would be best in a home as a solo dog or with a pup who is happy to share toys and chews and won't be bothered by Hank's miserly tendencies at times! We don't know yet how Hank would do with children. Hank's dream situation would include humans of his very own to love, squeaky toys, and a yard. Hank's DNA results show that he's a Super Mutt Mix! He's 50% Boxer mixed with German Shepherd, Golden Retriever and Border Collie. Hank was surrendered to us because his senior guardian was no longer able to care for him.

Story
Chance knows a thing or two about making your own fun!! He’s a blast and surely happy to entertain his new family.Chance is an eight month old boxer mix with pizazz and personality. He is medium to high energy until he burns a little off then he calms down nicely so a regular routine of exercise and play will be a huge benefit. We don’t know his history before coming in as a stray so adopter should be prepared to start at square one and do the whole gambit of basic and house training. An investment up front will pay dividends the rest of his life. Come meet Vhane soon!!Adoption HoursTuesday to Saturday1-4 PMThis Wednesday July 24th we are open late until 7 PM.

💎 Meet Ruby 💎 You may recognize her, we had her up for adoption for over a year and was adopted! But she is back and looking for her forever home. But this time with no young children, it’s just too much for her. Ruby is an extremely sweet and loving girl. She loves her people so deeply and isn’t biased on who gets her love! A giant bucket of pure joy! She loves to chew her toys and chase them when thrown for her! With proper introductions- she happily lives with dogs! She does get overwhelmed with young children so we think it’s best that kids are older. She is crate trained, potty trained and knows basic commands. The parts we know of her past is heartbreaking! She was rescued from the kill list at Devour Animal Shelter. She was obviously used as a breeder dog who had many litters with the c section scars to prove it! Her back leg muscles were weak and she had urine burns which means she didn’t get time out of a crate besides being bred. Due to her past, she takes time to trust that other dogs are her friends. Ruby is a strong girl so will be looking for a home that will continue her training and treat her like the princess she is! She is also a very much a couch potato who is always willing to have a long snuggle! Ruby has been vaccinated, microchipped and fixed! She is ready for her new home! Ruby is about 4 years old. Send in your adoption application today!

Story
Chance is a very friendly, loving boy. He is 3 years old, and lights up every room he walks in to. He loves attention and cuddles. He is food motivated, so he is easy to train. He is obedient, and does what he is told - e.g., stay, drop, stop it, etc. He knows sit, down and paw (shake) as tricks. He knows not to do things - e.g., avoid certain furniture, not eat certain foods, etc. He needs a home that can give him attention and cuddles, and he is full of energy so he is a great personal trainer! I am fostering him while he finds his forever home. I even lost weight while with him as he makes me want to go outside. I wish I could keep him, but I cannot. He is so amazing and brilliant.

Meet Bodhi! Bodhi is an active guy looking to be your best friend. He enjoys playing with toys, going for hikes, and showing off his smarts. He already knows `sit`, `wait`, `stay` and `down` and would love to bond with his new family through positive reinforcement base training to learn more. Shelter staff and volunteers have been pairing Bodhi up with other Shelter dogs for play sessions and group walks. He has learned a lot from these positive experiences and would benefit from continuing these things in his adoptive home. Bodhi would thrive from one on one play with a dog instead of a dog park or dog beach environment. Bodhi has lived with teenagers in a previous home. A home with sturdy children is likely a fit. Bodhi is house trained and ready to spring into his new home. If you are looking for a BFF - come meet Bodhi today.

Story
Meet Diego! He is a sweet guy who is looking for a soft place to land. Diego has been social with staff and volunteers. He enjoys going for walks around the property with staff and volunteers. When meeting dogs at the Shelter, Diego broke into adorable playbows and solicited play with dogs. A home with another dog may be a fit but any resident dogs are recommended to meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Diego with cats or small animals.
